With a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes, he shot the other man a glare before turning his attention to Wen Qian.

Wen Qian picked up three small, colorful boxes from the table and eagerly held them out to him.

"One for you, one for me, and one for Ling Xuan," Wen Qian said in a bright voice. "You pick first."

The young man’s finger hovered over the boxes, moving slowly without landing on one. After a long moment, as if he’d suddenly realized something, he frowned at Wen Qian. "Ling Xuan gets one too?"

"Everyone gets one..." Seeing the look on Yin Zhi’s face, she quickly added, "But each one is unique!"

Yin Zhi pressed his lips together. A flash of disappointment crossed his face but was quickly replaced by other emotions.

He picked up a light blue box. When he opened it, a little monster with silver hair playing a harmonica greeted his eyes.

Joy flashed in his eyes. Yin Zhi carefully tucked the charm into his pocket, then picked up another one. "I’ll take this to him now."

He was curious what was inside Ling Xuan’s box.

Seeing that he liked it, Wen Qian breathed a sigh of relief. The next second, however, the man pouted. "Qianqian, I want to sleep with you."

As he spoke, he didn’t forget to glance at the fox standing nearby.

The Little Fox wasn’t called out by name, but he felt even more awkward than if he had been.

’Shouldn’t Yin Zhi’s personality compel him to pounce on me and fight to the death?’ he wondered. ’Why is he being so generous today...?’

But he quickly understood why.

Not long after leaving the room, he saw a slender figure at the top of the stairs.

’It’s a female...’

Yin Zhi had actually brought another female home.

One had to understand that male Beastmen were highly territorial. It was very difficult for anyone other than their mate to enter their domain.

He subconsciously noted the female’s aura. She was from the Tiger Clan.

’Interesting.’

As if he’d thought of something, his narrow eyes curved into a handsome arc.

He turned to look at Yin Zhi, who was standing not far from him with a cold expression, and lightly tilted his chin. "You’re quite lucky with the ladies."

His composure was nearly shattered by those few words. The man pressed the tip of his tongue against his back molars, his expression turning icy.

Ling Xuan’s charm was a little monster with purple hair, hugging a small teddy bear.

His curiosity satisfied, Yin Zhi immediately returned to Wen Qian’s room. He took the fastest shower of his life, then shyly slipped under the covers.

"I missed you," he murmured, gazing at her with deep affection. The moment Wen Qian stepped out of the bathroom, he impatiently grabbed her wrist.

Pulling her into his arms, he greedily savored the warmth of her embrace.

Wen Qian was suddenly reminded of the first time he’d transformed. Her cheeks grew warm, but this time, she didn’t push him away. Instead, she reached out and hugged him tightly.

...

Wen Qian was woken up by the sound of Shen Mqing’s voice.

The footsteps in the hallway weren’t very clear, but the young man’s surprised shout was rather ear-splitting.

Shen Mqing saw Shen Junyi the moment he opened his door. He was skeptical at first, and it wasn’t until he reached the top of the stairs that he could confirm it really was his sister standing at the end of the hall.

He darted in front of her like a rabbit, his voice filled with unconcealable joy.

Yin Zhi and Wen Qian’s room was right across the hall, so his shout woke Wen Qian right up.

His brow furrowed slightly. Yin Zhi subconsciously tightened his arms, cursing Shen Mqing a hundred times over in his head. If he weren’t so reluctant to let go of Wen Qian, he would have stormed out and beaten the kid up.

"Since we’re awake, let’s go get breakfast..." Wen Qian rubbed her temples and patted Yin Zhi’s arm twice.

The man nuzzled the side of his face against her neck like a pouting child, his voice a little hoarse. "I still want to do something else..."

"..."

At the dining table, only Shen Mqing was chattering away nonstop.

His eyes sparkled as he held onto Shen Junyi, asking her all sorts of questions.

It turned out that Shen Junyi had arrived on Blue Star half a year ago, but she had been in a different city district from them.

Shen Junyi was highly skilled and intelligent, so she had managed to avoid being discovered by humans all this time.

"Boo-hoo... I thought I was the only one here..." Shen Mqing sniffled, looking like he’d finally been reunited with his family.

"Not many from the Shen Family did come over," Shen Junyi said, raising an eyebrow as she distastefully pushed Shen Mqing’s approaching face away.

’Her little brother was great in every way,’ she thought, ’except he’s a bit too coddled...’

It was the first time Wen Qian had seen Shen Mqing act like this, and for a moment, she didn’t know how to react.

She buried her head low, stuffing a meat bun into her mouth... pretending she didn’t see a thing.

The buns had been handmade by Gu Mian yesterday. They were filled with tribute vegetable and beef, and they were unbelievably fragrant.

"Eat slowly." Gu Mian reached out and patted her head, his voice as gentle as ever.

Shen Junyi subconsciously glanced over, her gaze landing on the man’s handsome profile. She couldn’t help but click her tongue inwardly. ’Yin Zhi’s love rivals are more troublesome than the last,’ she thought.

"Mr. Gu, your cooking skills are really impeccable..." Chi Ye couldn’t help but give him a thumbs-up.

He had originally wanted his nephew to learn a thing or two, but this... this level of skill was something an ordinary person truly couldn’t pick up.

’If we go back to the Beast World, I wonder if we’ll ever get to eat such delicious food again...’ At this thought, Chi Ye couldn’t resist grabbing two more buns.

"Sis..." Seeing Shen Junyi remain silent, Shen Mqing immediately waved a hand in front of her face.

She slapped his hand away with a deadpan expression, giving him a look that said, "spit it out."

He peeked cautiously at Yin Zhi. Seeing him thoughtfully ladling small wontons for Wen Qian, he then winked at Shen Junyi, motioning for her to look over there.

Shen Junyi’s eyebrows shot up. She raised a hand and flicked Shen Mqing on the forehead, surprised that her own little brother was such a gossip.

The meal ended quickly.

When Gu Mian stood up, he gave Yin Zhi an extra two-second glance. The man immediately got the hint, gathering the bowls and chopsticks from the table and preparing to head to the kitchen.

Ling Xuan, who had just put down his chopsticks, hadn’t even processed what was happening when his chopsticks were taken by Yin Zhi. He immediately shot to his feet, a hint of nervousness in his voice. "Young Master, I’ll do it!"

Yin Zhi dodged Ling Xuan’s hand and met his gaze. Ling Xuan immediately sat back down.

No words were needed. All he and the Young Master needed was a single look to understand each other.

At this thought, Ling Xuan proudly lifted his chin. ’As expected, I’m the person in this world who understands the Young Master best.’

The kitchen was quiet. Yin Zhi put down the bowls and chopsticks and said coolly, "What is it?"

"An explanation," Gu Mian said in a low voice, his hands not stopping their work. When he heard no response from Yin Zhi, he added two cold words: "Shen Junyi."

Although no one had said anything at the table, Yin Zhi must have felt their collective displeasure.

The house belonged to the Shen Family, so by rights, it was perfectly justifiable for Shen Junyi to live here. Still, everyone was very uncomfortable.

It might have been fine before, but now Yin Zhi and Wen Qian had already...
