My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 435 - 397: Yang Lei and Celestial Star Shocked: A Future Beyond a 50-Win Streak
Yang Lei and Celestial Star hadn’t actually interacted much. After all, they weren’t based in the same region, but they had maintained some contact in the past.
As powerful members of the Three-Life Race, it was only natural that they were connected. Furthermore, the Celestial Star Arena had always been a place the race used to scout for talent, so he paid close attention to it as well.
Now that he’d heard someone had achieved fifty consecutive wins, he had the urge to investigate. After all, he just needed one look to tell if it was an act. ’How could he, a mighty cultivator at the Peak of the Unity Realm, not be able to tell?’
’If it’s a fake, I can just kill him. Spreading such rumors would damage the reputation of the Three-Life Race. But if it’s real, befriending him would mean one more friend in the future.’
’Besides, if this person has a good relationship with Celestial Star, wouldn’t that make him an intermediary for us? Our own connection has grown distant. It would be good to seize this chance to get in touch.’
With this in mind, he arrived in an instant at the Three-Life Race’s administrative district in the main city where Jiang Qiu was located. He soon saw Jiang Qiu. At a glance, he was a humanoid being, but he wore a mask that concealed much of his aura, making it impossible to discern his Realm. However, this was a standard characteristic of cultivators native to the Yin Yang Great Realm.
’The cultivators of the Yin Yang Great Realm couldn’t be more obvious—they all wear masks. No matter what they look like underneath, they present a masked appearance. And the fact that I can’t see through to his real face means his origins are authentic. Perhaps he really did win fifty consecutive matches.’
’At the very least, he’s from the Yin Yang Great Realm, not the Nine Venerable Great Realm. An ordinary person couldn’t travel from so far away. He must have some real ability.’
As he was thinking this, his gaze shifted to Snow. The Dragon Maiden’s temperament was exceptionally cold; she gave off an almost inhuman feeling.
It was an indescribable sensation; she just wasn’t like a normal living being. Yang Lei had met countless people, but he had rarely felt such a strange aura from a cultivator.
Her appearance was also quite striking. The mask, featuring a lifelike Dragon Form, was complemented by a pair of white jade-like Dragon Horns. This look was far more regal than that of the Flood Dragon Race, who proclaimed themselves descendants of the Dragon Race.
In truth, the Flood Dragon Race of this world did have a connection to the legendary Dragon Race, the first of the Ten Peak Demon Clans. After all, a race doesn’t just appear out of nowhere; it must go through a process of evolution.
The Flood Dragon Race had once possessed a trace of the Dragon Race’s bloodline. Of course, that bloodline was no longer apparent now, and they barely retained a few draconic features. Yet, based on these features alone, they had developed into a top-tier race in a top-tier Great Realm, becoming renowned throughout the entire Primordial world cluster—on par with the Three-Life Race.
But this Dragon Maiden before him exuded a natural aura that seemed to surpass even the Flood Dragon Race, as if her horns were real Dragon Horns and the blood of the Dragon Race truly flowed in her veins.
However, Yang Lei could tell with a single glance that this was impossible. Given Snow’s state, she was most likely a Repairer from the Yin Yang Great Realm—which is to say, she hailed from the Yin Yang Great Realm.
’In that bizarre Great Realm, there are no normal souls; all of them have been reformed by the Yin Yang. How could any special bloodline be passed down there?’
The realm captures the souls of those who die in the void, using them to replenish its own consumption of soul energy. It then continuously recycles them to create new souls, allowing them to reincarnate and practice Cultivation. This entire process forces them to endlessly generate value for the Yin Yang Celestial Pride List and strive for Transcendence. Such a system completely removes the possibility of bloodlines; they place far more importance on the soul. Therefore, the Dragon Maiden before him couldn’t possibly possess a single drop of Dragon Race blood. In fact, a pure Dragon Race bloodline didn’t even exist in this era. He concluded she was simply a cultivator with an appreciation for dragon-form culture.
After an introduction from the person in charge, he quickly became acquainted with Jiang Qiu and Snow. Their attitudes were decent—neither servile nor overbearing. Clearly, they had met important people before; at the very least, they had encountered a Unity Realm cultivator as guests. Yang Lei didn’t waste words, getting straight to the point. "You say you’ve achieved fifty consecutive wins in the Celestial Star Arena and are connected with Celestial Star. In that case, I will contact him for you."
Jiang Qiu was somewhat surprised by the Unity Realm cultivator’s generous offer. He had expected the man to make him prove his identity. After all, faking a fifty-win streak would have a very negative impact on the Three-Life Race, as it would devalue the prestige of such an achievement in the Celestial Star Arena.
But now, not needing to provide proof saved him a lot of trouble and time. He expressed his thanks.
In reality, Yang Lei had his own calculations. He could, of course, have made Jiang Qiu prove his fifty-win streak, but he saw no need. He couldn’t see through Jiang Qiu at a glance, which clearly meant the man was capable. The key was the woman beside him; her aura was not something a typical Fusion Realm cultivator could possess. That alone was telling.
Both of them were exceptionally powerful, so there was really no need to test them. Besides, by not testing them, he could leave a good impression. He would find out whether it was true or not after contacting Celestial Star anyway.
Even though initiating such a long-distance communication would consume a great deal of resources, it was a price he could afford. If, as a result, Jiang Qiu owed him a small favor, then it would be well worth it.
