My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 369 364: Couldn't Even See How the One-Shot Happened, and He'd Already Started a New Match
The number of online viewers for Arena #10086 was still rising. After about ten minutes, the count had reached a high of two hundred thousand. By this point, the growth had slowed considerably, and the live comments were flying across the screen, full of impatience.
They had been watching Sansan hold his trident high, summoning a thundercloud, seemingly charging up some earth-shattering, ultimate technique with an air of invincibility. But ten minutes had passed, and he was *still* charging that ultimate technique.
The crucial part was that as he charged this ultimate technique, not a whiff of its power was leaking out. It was hard to imagine what kind of Spirit Charm reserves could sustain such a long wind-up.
"What the hell? Why haven't they started fighting? This Sansan guy can't just be putting on a show, can he? He summoned that damn thundercloud ten minutes ago! I've waited so long the flowers have wilted, but there's still no action!"
"I'm speechless, too. They still haven't started. When are they going to fight?"
"The main thing is, the Human Race kid isn't attacking either. If it were me, I'd have already beaten the crap out of this show-off Sansan. Oh, you like to act cool? You like charging up your ultimate and not using it? Just kill him already!"
"Damn it! I've wasted all this time just listening to Sansan's grandstanding!"
"You Fishman Race just love to show off. A bunch of dead-eyed freaks, still trying to look cool. If I had a Fiery Flame Spirit Charm, I'd turn all of you into grilled fish—"
"What's wrong with showing off? Our Young Master Sansan is just that incredible! You don't actually think that technique is fake, do you? Let me tell you ignorant fools the truth: that is the inherited clan Talent our Young Master Sansan comprehended—Thunderstorm Descent!"
"Hah, calling it a 'show'? With your pathetic insight, could you possibly comprehend the sheer value of Thunderstorm Descent? See the fish-spear... ah, no, the Trident in Young Master Sansan's hand? That is our clan's legacy weapon! For ten thousand years, no one could earn its acknowledgment. He alone succeeded in making it recognize him as its master!"
"Exactly! The Trident was our Ancestor's weapon! Our Ancestor was a great and powerful expert in the Fusion Realm! Can you even understand that? You don't know anything, you just run your mouths!"
"And this isn't the first time Young Master Sansan has unleashed this technique! He used it to fight above his level and instantly kill another clan prodigy who was in the Bright Soul Realm. His power is extraordinary!"
"Right now, Young Master Sansan is simply taking pity on his opponent, giving him a little time to breathe. And don't bother asking why the Human Race guy isn't attacking—he's just too terrified to move."
"That's right! If any of you were up there facing a technique this powerful from Young Master Sansan, you'd have pissed your pants! And you still have the gall to complain?"
The two factions launched into another verbal assault, the random viewers against the Fishman Race fans, arguing with fiery intensity. Emotions soared to an all-time high, and the viewer count reached its peak. It was at this exact moment that a shout suddenly erupted from the broadcast: "The time has come! Die, Jiang Qiu!"
At these words, countless eyes snapped back to the broadcast screen. They saw Sansan, beneath the vast thundercloud, take a single step and rise into the air, as if borne by a gale.
With that leap, he became the sole moon in the sky. The Trident in his hand transformed into a supreme Divine Artifact, with crackling Thunder coiling around it. A casual flick sent out a dense, terrifying spiderweb of pure lightning.
In the arena, the air was scorching and humid. A tingling numbness, like the aftershock of a lightning strike, was carried on the dense water vapor and settled on Jiang Qiu's face. His gaze sharpened. 'He's finally making his move.'
The technique was simply too dazzling. The brilliance of the Thunder flashed blindingly, and the ROARING was louder than a bustling city. The Fishman's body blotted out the light of the sky, making him look like a god descending to the mortal world.
He raised the Trident high, assuming a throwing stance. His dead-fish eyes looked down upon Jiang Qiu, filled with an arrogance that seemed to scorn the very heavens. "Your challenger's ticket was a worthy purchase, for you get to die by my hand."
SWOOSH—
The Trident was finally about to fly from his grasp. In that instant, he completed the throwing motion. The muscles of his forearm compressed and then exploded with power. His bent elbow snapped straight in midair, like a Great Bow drawn to a full moon suddenly being loosed. The Trident was on the verge of shooting from his hand like a cannonball.
BOOM—
A jet-black ray of light flashed into a thin line, like a steel blade cleaving the world into yin and yang. In that instant, light and shadow were starkly divided; the very image on screen seemed to rip apart.
The vast thundercloud roiled. Sansan's body froze the moment the black light pierced his forehead. His dead-fish eyes were still filled with arrogance as the Trident slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground.
With a loud BANG, the Thunder that had been brewing for ten minutes transformed into a raging beast of electrical fury. It CRACKLED violently as it blasted the ground where the Trident had landed, and Sansan, caught squarely in the blast zone, had no time to react.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Thunder was like a blacksmith's hammer—a supreme forging technique from the Great Dao itself. It hammered Sansan into a pitch-black, charred corpse, which collapsed to the ground with a soft THUD, wreathed in thick smoke.
He and the Trident ended up together. One was stuck diagonally in the ground, the other was lying flat on it. Once its power was spent, the summoned thundercloud dissipated as if blown away by a single breath.
The entire arena fell silent. The stream of live comments froze for three seconds. No one could process what had just happened.
'Was that Thunder really that incredible? Even an expert from the Dharma Realm would probably be blasted into a stiff corpse by that. It's unimaginable that it came from a Fishman at the first level of the Spirit Body Realm!'
Huh? Wait a minute—
It looks like... the battle is already over!
"Challenge complete. Victor: Jiang Qiu of the Human Race. Victories: One!"
