“You’ve really grown up, looking much prettier than when I saw you on TV. You looked too skinny on that variety show before, but now your figure is just perfect!”

Listening to Aunt Zhu’s words, Summer Shawcross smiled bashfully. She was well aware that the reason was she had gained quite a bit of weight recently due to her pregnancy.

“Aunt Zhu, you’re still the same as before, not aging at all.” Summer couldn’t help but comment after gazing at Aunt Zhu for a moment.

Aunt Zhu’s appearance was almost the same as how Summer remembered her from her teenage years, always with a smile and very approachable.

After Summer finished speaking, Aunt Zhu was caught off guard for a moment, her expression showing a touch of surprise.

“What’s wrong, Aunt Zhu?” Seeing this, Summer showed a puzzled look and asked her.

“It’s nothing… Just thinking, you’ve really changed a lot.” Aunt Zhu looked at Summer for a long time, then couldn’t help but sigh.

If it were the old Summer Shawcross, the little princess of The Shawcross Family who was pampered by everyone, she would never have said such words to her.

Thinking about this, Aunt Zhu felt a bit saddened and couldn’t help but ask Summer with concern.

“These years must have been very tough for you, haven’t they?”

Aunt Zhu’s words made Summer pause, and after a moment, she smiled and suddenly said to Aunt Zhu.

“The hardest times are over. I’m doing quite well now.”

When The Shawcross Family had just gone bankrupt, life was indeed tough for her and her brother, but later on, everything started getting better.

And now, she’s achieved a happiness she once thought unreachable.

Hearing this, Aunt Zhu nodded with relief.

“That’s true, you’re a big star now, really impressive!”

“Don’t stand outside, come in and sit for a while. It looks like it might rain soon.”

With that, Aunt Zhu led both Summer and Katherine Irving inside the house.

Summer nodded and entered the door with Katherine.

Once inside, Summer put down her things and sat down on the sofa.

As soon as she sat down, a waft of food aromas reached her.

“Aunt Zhu, are you cooking?” Summer couldn’t help but ask.

“Yes, as soon as I heard you were coming, I started prepping lunch. You two can stay and have lunch!” Aunt Zhu smiled, then went into the kitchen. After bustling about for a bit, she came back out and asked Summer again.

“By the way, did you check out the house?”

When Aunt Zhu mentioned the house, Summer paused for a moment and then nodded.

“We just came from there.”

“Well, did the owner agree to sell it to you?” Aunt Zhu continued to ask with concern.

Summer shook her head, then showed a puzzled expression and quickly asked Aunt Zhu.

“We didn’t see the house’s owner. Aunt Zhu, are you sure someone lives there? It seemed like there was no one inside.”

“That’s impossible. Before you arrived, I asked around a neighbor nearby, and she told me she saw a man in a wheelchair in the yard this morning. How could there be no one?” Hearing Summer’s words, Aunt Zhu’s face also filled with confusion, and she whispered to Summer.

A man in a wheelchair?
