Chapter 319: Hunter-class Leviathan

Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Hunter-class Leviathan

To lead a fleet to provide support at such a critical moment!

Looking at the man before him, the eldest son of Morton truly felt as if his heart had been touched.

It was almost like the fluttering sensation of first love!

Moved, the eldest son of Morton said, "Commander Zhao Chen, your fleet has arrived just in time!

Really... thank you so much... thank you so much..."

Overwhelmed by emotion, the eldest son of Morton momentarily struggled to articulate his thoughts.

"Save the gratitude for later. Right now, the most important thing is to protect the Stargate and hold out until the reinforcements arrive!" Zhao Chen immediately got down to business.

"I need all the current battlefield intelligence, but my fleet will be commanded by me in combat. After all, our fleets are unfamiliar with each other, and forcing them to coordinate might backfire."

The eldest son of Morton looked at the unflappable man, even more amazed by his composure.

Despite the dire situation in the Morton Star System, he dared to come to their aid, and even when faced with such a cataclysmic Swarm, he showed no sign of panic.

This indicated that he was undoubtedly someone with ample combat experience and strong tactical acumen.

Recalling what the man had just said...

Fierce Dragon Fleet?

The name seemed somewhat unfamiliar, yet it also felt like he had heard it somewhere before.

But regardless, the other party had brought dozens of T3 interstellar warships. Although they were still nothing compared to the opposing Swarm, something was better than nothing.

Especially when it was such timely assistance.

"Alright, we’ll do as you say.

I will provide any assistance unconditionally!" The eldest son of Morton added, "If... if the Stargate is truly about to fall...

I will expend every last ounce of strength to cover your retreat.

This is the Morton Star System. You shouldn’t have to perish here with us for no reason."

The words of the eldest son of the Morton Star System’s lord took Zhao Chen by surprise.

Zhao Chen smiled and said, "Don’t worry, we will definitely hold the Morton Star System. Definitely!"

Looking at the man’s smile, the eldest son of Morton felt as if he were bathed in a spring breeze.

For the first time, he experienced a subtle emotion toward someone other than a woman.

The communication was temporarily halted.

Zhao Chen shuddered and muttered to Secretary Officer Lilith beside him, "That eldest son of Morton has good character, but why did the way he looked at me just now... feel a bit strange..."

"I don’t know," Secretary Officer Lilith shook her head.

"I’ve heard some nobles have... peculiar preferences..." Zhao Chen made a disgusted expression. While he didn’t discriminate against such preferences, he didn’t want to be involved!

It seemed he would have to keep his distance from this eldest son of Morton from now on.

"How is the battlefield intelligence data coming along?" Zhao Chen refocused his thoughts, turning his attention to the current battlefield situation.

In the battlefield images captured by the deep-space telescope, a massive Zerg Swarm could be seen!

The numbers were utterly terrifying!

It was on a completely different scale from the Zerg Fleet Zhao Chen had faced in the Sapphire Star System!

"The T3 Phoenix’s Radar System is still scanning and tallying. Due to the overwhelming number of enemies, it will take some time," Secretary Officer Lilith replied.

Zhao Chen took this moment to look at another video window: "Charlotte, how is the fleet deployment going?"

"Reporting, Commander. All starships of the Fierce Dragon Fleet are currently deploying into combat formation. It is estimated that full deployment will take three minutes," Charlotte reported.

"Good, make it quick! Judging by the situation on the defense line here, they won’t hold out much longer. We must stabilize the situation!" Zhao Chen said seriously.

"Understood!" Charlotte replied.

Secretary Officer Lilith also had new information: "Commander, the latest enemy situation has been updated. However, due to the massive scale of the Zerg fleet, a portion of the Zerg fleet remains outside the scanning range of our starship radar, and detection data cannot be obtained. This is the enemy intelligence gathered within the scanning range of our starship radar."

A data screen appeared before Zhao Chen’s eyes, and he examined the numbers.

First were the Zerg fleet’s Hive Motherships.

T1 Hive Mothership: nearly three thousand!

T2 Hive Mothership: nearly three hundred!

T3 Hive Mothership: around thirty!

The numbers of T1 and T2 Hive Motherships were terrifying, but they weren’t the real concern. However, the number of T3 Hive Motherships truly made Zhao Chen’s scalp tingle.

It was important to remember that previously, the Fierce Dragon Fleet had worked hard for nearly half a month to eliminate fewer than thirty Hive Motherships. And now, within the dark, swarming mass of the enemy, there were around thirty T3 Hive Motherships.

If the fall of the Morton Star System wouldn’t affect the Fierce Dragon Star System, Zhao Chen estimated his first thought would be to flee.

"Have any T4 Zerg Nest Motherships been observed?" Zhao Chen asked seriously, not seeing any information about T4 Zerg Nest Motherships.

In this Star Gate Defense Battle, the enemy’s T4 Zerg Nest Motherships were crucial. After all, a difference of one tier represented a vast technological gap!

"So far, no traces of T4 Zerg Nest Motherships have been observed. However, based on intelligence data shared with us by the local garrison fleet, it can be confirmed that there is at least one T4 Zerg Nest Mothership within this batch of the Zerg fleet!" Secretary Officer Lilith replied.

Since there was a Level 4 Cosmic Wormhole, the appearance of T4 Zerg Nest Motherships was unquestionable. The key was how many there were!

"Keep a close watch on the enemy fleet. Report immediately if any T4 Zerg Nest Motherships are discovered!" Zhao Chen reminded.

He then continued scanning the other intelligence data.

Due to the presence of over three thousand Hive Motherships, the number of the Swarm was equally horrifying!

T1 Flying Insect count: around seventy million.

T2 Spiked Serpent count: around six hundred thousand.

T3 Self-detonating Beetle: around five thousand.

T3 Corrupted Wyvern: around forty thousand.

Such terrifying data!

Zhao Chen didn’t need to think twice to be certain that if they relied solely on the defense fleet at the Morton Star Gate, they wouldn’t last five hours—not even one hour.

"Report! Detection of enemy T4 Zerg units!" Deputy Captain Red Eye exclaimed.

"Is it a T4 Zerg Nest Mothership?" Zhao Chen’s eyes widened.

"Not a T4 Zerg Nest Mothership, but T4-level Zerg units. These are images captured by the deep-space telescope!" Deputy Captain Red Eye displayed several somewhat blurry images.

However, because the Galactic Alliance database had long recorded relevant data and intelligence on the Zerg, which included the T4 Zerg Nest Mothership and the Zerg units it carried.

Therefore, even just a blurry image could be recognized.

Zhao Chen stared at the Zerg creature, which was as large as a T1 Interstellar Warship, moved at extremely high speed, and could fire biological plasma cannons with power not inferior to the main cannons of a T3 Star Battleship!

Its appearance somewhat resembled a whale, an ichthyosaur, or a plesiosaur.

It had hard scales, sharp teeth, and several tentacle-like appendages.

Its form was extremely ferocious and terrifying!

Among the Zerg data Zhao Chen had studied at the North Star Starship Military Academy, there was a record of it.

One of the Zerg units of the T4 Zerg Nest Mothership!

The T4 Hunter-class Leviathan!
