Luna composed herself, then looked at Haruto with a serious expression.

"Haruto-san, your Constitution and Strength stand out even more than your other attributes."

"So I’d recommend choosing a class geared toward close combat. That would allow you to make the fullest use of your natural advantages."

With that, Luna held the Adventurer’s Card in both hands and respectfully presented it to him.

Haruto accepted the card and glanced over the attributes written on it.

As he expected, the numbers only reflected his most basic physical capabilities.

His actual combat strength was obviously far beyond what the card displayed.

As for which class to choose...

Haruto considered the question for a moment as countless possibilities passed through his mind.

Now that he had arrived in the world of KonoSuba, learning magic was unquestionably a priority.

After all, this world’s method of learning magic was extraordinarily straightforward.

At the same time, he had no intention of neglecting close combat.

In that case, a class capable of using both magic and swordsmanship was undoubtedly the most suitable choice.

"Then I’ll become a Magic Swordsman."

Haruto spoke decisively.

"A Magic Swordsman, capable of wielding both magic and powerful close-combat techniques!"

Luna’s eyes lit up, her expression filled with admiration.

"That really is the perfect choice, Haruto-sama! With your talent, I’m certain you’ll become one of the strongest adventurers in the world someday. You might even defeat the Demon King!"

From Luna’s perspective, Haruto did not merely possess overwhelming Strength and Constitution. His Intelligence was exceptional as well.

The Magic Swordsman class truly allowed him to exploit all of those advantages at once.

Haruto said nothing further.

He ran a finger over the class-selection section of his Adventurer’s Card, found Magic Swordsman, and tapped it.

The magical patterns engraved across the card immediately lit up.

The section that had previously displayed Classless rapidly changed before settling on Magic Swordsman.

Immediately afterward, countless lines of tiny text appeared beneath the skill section, forming an extensive list.

Haruto raised an eyebrow and examined it with interest.

The Adventurer’s Card had actually converted the abilities he already possessed into corresponding skills according to the rules of this world.

’What an interesting system.’

Haruto became curious about how using those abilities through KonoSuba’s skill system would differ from using them normally.

Unfortunately, the Adventurers Guild was crowded with far too many people to conduct any experiments here.

More importantly, aside from the abilities he had already possessed, his extremely high base attributes had granted him an enormous number of available skill points despite still being only Level 1.

He had enough to learn every skill available to a Magic Swordsman and raise them all to their maximum level.

And that was before accounting for the additional skill points he could gain by leveling up.

Once Haruto finished selecting his class, Kagura and Kanna took turns placing their hands on the crystal sphere.

As expected, both produced extraordinarily high attribute values as well.

By now, Luna had gone from shock to near numbness.

She could not help wondering what kind of day this was for three monstrous geniuses to appear at the guild one after another.

"Both of your attributes are exceptional as well. You qualify for almost any advanced class."

"However, your Strength values are slightly lower than your other attributes, so I would recommend ranged or magic-oriented classes."

Luna looked toward Kagura and Kanna as she offered her advice.

Both sisters found the recommendation reasonable.

In the end, they each chose Arch Wizard.

Of course, the types of magic they intended to learn were completely different.

Once the registration process was finished, Haruto firmly declined the numerous party invitations coming from nearby adventurers and led Kagura and Kanna toward the enormous quest board mounted against the wall.

The board was covered with requests.

Most involved miscellaneous work such as finding lost cats, gathering medicinal herbs, or helping move heavy cargo, but there were also several monster-subjugation quests.

Haruto’s attention first landed on the most conspicuous notice at the top.

Demon Subjugation.

An illustration showed a hideous demon with bat-like wings, and the reward was an astonishing ten million eris.

Haruto gave it a brief glance before immediately losing interest.

He had no appetite for Host, so there was little reason to waste time hunting him down.

Continuing down the board, his attention soon settled on two other quests.

Giant Toad Subjugation: Large numbers of Giant Toads have begun awakening west of town. Adventurers requested for extermination.

Reward: 10,000 eris. All Giant Toad materials belong to the adventurers.

The second notice read:

One-Punch Bear Subjugation: An adult One-Punch Bear has appeared in the Black Forest to the north. It has destroyed three hunters’ cabins and injured two hunters.

Reward: 100,000 eris. All materials from the One-Punch Bear belong to the adventurers.

A faint smile appeared on Haruto’s face.

These two quests were perfect.

Both Giant Toads and the One-Punch Bear looked like promising ingredients.

He tore the two notices from the board and handed them to Luna.

The moment she saw what he had selected, her expression changed slightly.

"Haruto-san, One-Punch Bears are famous for their tremendous strength. They can easily shatter boulders."

"You only just registered today. Wouldn’t it be safer to complete the Giant Toad subjugation first and gain some experience?"

Haruto smiled.

"Don’t worry, Luna. I know what I’m doing. A One-Punch Bear isn’t going to hurt us."

Seeing the confidence in his expression, Luna swallowed the rest of her warning.

Then she remembered the absurd attribute values on Haruto’s card and relaxed slightly.

With his capabilities, Giant Toads and a single One-Punch Bear probably would not pose much of a challenge.

Luna accepted the quest sheets and registered both assignments under Haruto’s party.

Of course, despite taking the quests, Haruto had no intention of setting out immediately.

They had only just arrived in Axel and did not even have somewhere to stay yet.

Their immediate priority was finding a house, settling in, and purchasing basic necessities and ingredients.

There were plenty of monsters around Axel, so gathering them would undoubtedly take some time.

After leaving the Adventurers Guild, Haruto strolled through the streets with Kagura and Kanna.

The afternoon sunlight was pleasantly warm, illuminating rows of neatly arranged houses.

The sweet aroma of freshly baked honey bread drifted from a bakery, while rhythmic clanging came from a nearby blacksmith’s forge.

After roughly half an hour of searching, the three found a suitable house on the eastern side of town.

It was a two-story wooden home with a small courtyard.

The building itself was not particularly large, but it had been kept clean and tidy and came fully furnished.

What pleased Haruto most was the spacious, brightly lit kitchen and the large fireplace, both of which were perfect for cooking.

He promptly paid a month’s rent.

Once their accommodations were settled, the three headed back out toward Axel’s marketplace to purchase ingredients.

Stalls lined both sides of the market, selling all sorts of goods. Some offered fruits and vegetables, others meat and seafood, while still more displayed handmade crafts.

Haruto was extremely curious about the ingredients found in the world of KonoSuba.

Naturally, he bought a considerable amount.

By the time the three had gathered a substantial haul and were preparing to return home, Haruto suddenly noticed that the number of adventurers on the streets had increased dramatically.

They hurried around with anxious expressions, constantly looking in every direction as though searching for someone.

"That’s strange. What happened?"

Kagura asked curiously while munching on an apple.

Haruto stopped an adventurer rushing past them.

"Excuse me. What happened? Who is everyone looking for?"

The adventurer answered between breaths.

"We’re looking for that blue-haired Arch Priest! I heard she’s incredibly powerful. If she helps, we’ll definitely be able to deal with that demon!"

Before Haruto could ask anything else, the adventurer hurried away again.

Haruto raised an eyebrow in understanding.

The blue-haired Arch Priest they were searching for was obviously Aqua.

What none of these adventurers could possibly imagine was that Aqua was currently working construction, hauling bricks and spreading mortar for a few thousand eris in wages.

Just then, a clear and arrogant voice rang out from the nearby street corner, cutting through the surrounding noise.

"What the hell?! Are your eyes just decoration?! Don’t you watch where you’re going?!"

Haruto turned toward the voice.

At the corner stood a young woman with long aqua-blue hair dressed in work clothes, hands planted on her hips as she angrily glared at an adventurer wearing leather armor.

Dust and spots of mud covered her clothing. Her trouser legs had been rolled up to her knees, revealing pale calves, and traces of exhaustion still lingered on her face.

She had clearly only just come from the construction site.

Standing beside her was a young man dressed in similar work clothes.
