Cecilia Vaughn was a bit worried about Adrian Law’s injury, so she tried to hide in the sofa, only to be pulled closer by the man.

Adrian Law deftly reached out his large hand and undid Cecilia Vaughn’s hairband.

In an instant, her black hair flowed down like a waterfall…

In TV dramas, there are often scenes where the female lead’s long hair flutters, but in Adrian Law’s eyes, those enhanced and filtered images could never compare to the real feel of Cecilia Vaughn’s silky hair slipping through his fingertips.

He couldn’t help but bend down deeply and take a sniff.

“Cecilia, you smell amazing.”

It was a faint scent, akin to jasmine.

Adrian Law knew that Cecilia Vaughn never used perfume, so this jasmine scent most likely came from the shampoo and conditioner she regularly used.

Oddly enough, they both used the same brand of shampoo, but Adrian Law felt that only the scent surrounding Cecilia Vaughn made him deeply infatuated.

…

Cecilia Vaughn knew she couldn’t escape this time. She raised her sparkling eyes and seriously asked Adrian Law.

“Are you really fully healed?”

She wasn’t quite convinced.

The last time Adrian Law had just been shot in the left shoulder, he acted as if nothing had happened. Luckily, they stopped in time; otherwise, Cecilia had truly worried that Adrian Law’s wound might have reopened.

“Do you want to take a look? Hmm?”

Adrian Law chuckled lowly, his charming tone seeming to tease like a devil’s lure. Even without doing anything, just watching the curve of the man’s lips, Cecilia Vaughn blushed fiercely.

“I don’t want to see…”

“Little liar…”

The man helplessly and indulgently tapped Cecilia Vaughn’s nose.

As he spoke, he suddenly stood up, and Cecilia thought he was going to let her go.

Instead, she saw Adrian Law seriously begin to unbutton his coat, and then his shirt.

…

“…”

There’s no need to do this…

Cecilia Vaughn was quite troubled by Adrian Law’s manner of removing his clothes. Although there was no deliberate seduction or intentional pause, every move he made caused her heart to race.

It was as if, invisibly, a giant net had tightly wrapped around Cecilia Vaughn, and she couldn’t escape.

Beneath, Adrian Law wore a tightly-fitted light gray sweater that already highlighted his model-like physique, and yet, he didn’t stop.

The sight of those eight-pack abs was just within reach.

Cecilia Vaughn couldn’t help but swallow hard.

“Can’t I just trust that you’re healed?”

“The place I got injured isn’t my abdomen.”

Seeing Cecilia Vaughn staring at his abs, the man couldn’t help but smile lightly. Knowing well that Cecilia was captivated, he still teased her by deliberately placing her hand on his left shoulder.

“…Hey, don’t move carelessly, I’m afraid I might hurt you.”

…

Cecilia Vaughn’s heart skipped a beat, and the wound on Adrian Law’s left shoulder was revealed.

It truly didn’t look as grim as a few days ago.

Everything had turned into dark red scars; clearly, there were no signs of splitting or bleeding, yet Cecilia Vaughn’s eyes suddenly reddened.

“Don’t ever do anything this foolish again.”

In truth, she hadn’t thought she could survive when she was underwater last time…

But at the very least, she didn’t want Adrian Law risking himself like that for her.

Perhaps people are inherently greedy; she certainly hoped to be saved, but also prayed to heaven to protect her lover, ensuring he left unharmed, not a single hair less.

…

“Crying at your age, aren’t you ashamed…”

The man helplessly drew Cecilia Vaughn into his arms, and seeing her reddened eyes like a rabbit, he couldn’t resist bending down, giving her a gentle peck.

“You’re my wife, the one I cherish for a lifetime. No matter what I do for you, I find it all worthwhile.”

“…”

Cecilia Vaughn wiped her reddened eyes, realizing she hadn’t shed actual tears, and felt unexpectedly relieved.

She pretended to stand fiercely with her hands on her hips.

“Then I demand you take care of yourself for me, and never do anything so foolish again.”

“Not rescuing you would have been foolish.”

The man seriously embraced Cecilia Vaughn, resting his head against her waist.

“Cecilia, haven’t you thought, if a man in such a situation still prioritizes his own life, calmly analyzing the least harmful way for himself, then there’s probably no place for you in his heart.”

“Or even if there is, it’s far less than his consideration for himself.”

…

Looking around the vast crowd, who doesn’t favor themselves a bit?

Cecilia Vaughn understood this truth, but she knew Adrian Law wasn’t like that. Her eyes warmed as she gently stroked Adrian Law’s head.

“I know…”

That’s why I like you so much.

I’m so thankful that the person I met is you.

…

Cecilia Vaughn was deeply moved, until she felt a mischievous hand slipping into her shirt, very improperly.

“….”

Couldn’t he let her be moved a while longer?

This man really knows how to ruin the mood.

Cecilia Vaughn was about to complain, but Adrian Law’s actions suddenly intensified. Even through a layer of clothing, Cecilia could feel her delicate curves held within the man’s large hand, being playfully toyed with.

“Let go…”

“I won’t.”

“Release your paw!”

“I won’t release it.”

The man looked closely at Cecilia Vaughn’s face, a handsome smile playing on his lips, yet it was overwhelmingly wicked.

Cecilia Vaughn felt her throat tighten, nearly thinking she was amidst crashing waves, her little boat swaying relentlessly, unable to return steadily.

“Be good, Cecilia, don’t you really miss me at all?”

The man pressed his advantage, capitalizing on Cecilia’s momentary lapse of reasoning, quickly advancing.

He held the girl’s waist deeply, placing another hand on the back of her head, pulling her even closer, as if they were two inseparable fish.

Cecilia Vaughn froze, wanting to say something. However, Adrian Law began imitating how she had once intentionally teased him, starting to kiss her neck.

Come on, she wasn’t a man, she didn’t have an Adam’s apple!

Yet Adrian Law’s kisses were too wild, too fervent. She could feel a layer of goosebumps rise on her neck, her blood wildly boiling in all her limbs.

Cecilia Vaughn unintentionally dug her nails into the man’s back.

“Ah…mmm…”

“Shh, it doesn’t hurt.”

Seeing Cecilia Vaughn’s wide eyes, the man suddenly flipped over, and they both rolled off the sofa onto the carpet below.

Cecilia Vaughn’s skin was exquisitely translucent, like fine jade, while the newly bought Persian rug was a deep red, full of hidden allure, accentuating the girl’s petite elegance even more.

“Cecilia, you’re so beautiful…”

The man murmured softly, but the light in his eyes was nearly mad…
