Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 637: Don’t Blame Me for Stealing Your Girl
Zion Prescott’s expression was somber.
"No, Jude, I’m sorry for keeping some things from you before, but I have nothing to do with the woman in your arms anymore."
Jude Grant looked at his uncle, not much older than himself, yet impeccably dressed like a city elite, and for the first time, what welled up inside him wasn’t respect but deep disgust.
He couldn’t even distinguish whether it was disgust for Zion Prescott or for himself.
He deliberately held Claire Sinclair tighter, gripping her waist in a dominant manner.
"Claire, my uncle says he has nothing to do with you, so why have you two been keeping this from me? Hmm?"
"Let me guess?"
Jude Grant gave a detached smile, and in Claire Sinclair’s somewhat pained gaze, suddenly kissed her heavily.
It was like biting, or perhaps some inexplicable form of possession.
Yet, there was no love inside.
...
Claire Sinclair’s lips were bitten by Jude, the bright red blood flowed directly out.
Her heart was full of grievance and anger, yet when she looked at Jude’s handsome face, she couldn’t retaliate against him.
After all, it was her and Zion Prescott who were at fault first.
If the two of them could have been honest with Jude about their past relationship when they encountered him.
Perhaps Jude wouldn’t have been this angry today?
Claire Sinclair, with a thought almost humble, looked at Jude with a struggling expression.
She wanted to plead with him, at least not to humiliate her like this in front of Zion Prescott.
Indeed, such a kiss, a contact full of hostility, how much love could it add to both of their hearts?
Perhaps, only deepen the anger and resentment.
...
Zion Prescott’s eyes were suddenly stirred by this scene like a stormy sea.
He tightly clenched his fist, barely restraining the impulse to strike Jude’s face.
Zion took a deep breath.
"Jude, I understand your feelings, but Miss Sinclair is innocent. I hope this matter ends here, and I hope you can let this go, at least not act on impulse."
"Act on impulse?"
Jude suddenly released Claire, glaring coldly at Zion Prescott.
"Uncle, what do you mean by this? I don’t quite understand, isn’t it normal for me to kiss Claire, since she’s my woman? Where’s the impulsiveness?!"
"You..."
Zion, normally sharp-tongued, found his thoughts somewhat scattered when it came to Claire Sinclair.
He looked deeply at Jude.
"Jude, you and I both know the truth, why pretend otherwise?"
"Ha, uncle, how could I dare to pretend in front of you, wouldn’t you say?"
Jude always respected Zion, but would never use such a distant honorific to address him, this "you" was the pinnacle of sarcasm.
The hearts of all three felt as if they had been drenched in icy water, bitter cold.
...
A green vein popped out on Zion Prescott’s forehead, and he gave up on persuading Jude, fixing his gaze firmly on Claire Sinclair.
"Miss Sinclair, if you need help, you can get out of the car, I’ll take you back to the set."
Claire Sinclair still had filming to do, her lips were injured, not to mention her cheek had already sustained some minor scars from the previous horse-fall accident.
If not treated in time, it could be troublesome if the scars remained.
...
Even though technology is advanced today and post-surgery cosmetic treatments can treat scars.
Clearly, the injury on Claire Sinclair’s face could heal completely without such aftereffects.
Claire looked at Zion Prescott with a headache, seeing the youth’s shadowy eyes, with no trace of the usual sarcasm and mockery, yet an unreadable concern.
For a moment, Claire almost questioned whether she was mistaken.
At the moment their eyes met, the anger in Jude’s heart further fueled.
"Do you two think I’m dead with your flirting in front of me?"
"Claire Sinclair, I never expected you to be such a shamele..."
Before Jude could finish, Zion suddenly slapped him through the car window.
"You better curb yourself!"
"You actually hit me?!"
Jude, incredulous, touched his face, feeling the left side throbbing as if it were about to swell.
...
Seeing the atmosphere sink to freezing, Zion no longer addressed Jude with endearing terms, coldly eyeing him.
"Jude Grant, I warn you, although Claire Sinclair is your girlfriend, please show her some respect."
"I’ve explained myself and won’t say it again. Yes, I had a past with Claire, but that happened before you. I admit I harbored intentions for her..."
"..."
Hearing this, Jude was further incensed, even more than being slapped by Zion in front of Claire.
"What did you say?"
Zion abruptly interrupted.
"Listen to me! It was just my wishful thinking. I once thought of forcing Claire to break up with you, but she ultimately disagreed."
"And repeatedly rejected me, Claire truly loves you, so I gave up. If not for the fire in the crew, I wouldn’t have rushed here."
...
"So you’re saying you two still can’t forget the past?"
Jude sneered, feeling as if countless knives were tearing at his heart.
When faced with Zion’s calm and stern demeanor, he subconsciously felt fear, but it all paled compared to a man’s ego.
He had been played by Zion and Claire, there might as well be a vast grassland on his head.
What love, what familial ties, all lies!
...
Upon hearing Jude, Zion’s agitation calmed slightly.
"Jude, I understand your stance. If I were you, I might even have murderous thoughts."
"But the truth is clear, while I wronged you, Claire Sinclair hasn’t done anything wrong besides hiding her past."
"Whether you break up with her or continue the relationship is up to you, but if you’re together, yet don’t cherish her, don’t blame me for stepping in."
Stepping in with such reasoning?!
Jude, furious, wanted to punch someone.
He instinctively reached for the car door, but Zion suddenly turned, striding away with determined, solitary steps, like a lone wolf on the prairie, severely wounded yet never halting its pace.
...
Claire Sinclair was also frightened by Zion’s warning.
She hurriedly reached for Jude’s hand.
"Jude, don’t listen to him. No matter what Zion says, there’s only one person in my heart, I..."
