Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Chapter 575: The Feeling of Utter Collapse

  • Next Chapter

Rosalind White stared blankly at Adrian Law, her mind like two little figures tearing at each other.

One said not to believe Adrian’s words, that maybe he was just lying to save face because Cecilia was present.

But the other one told her that perhaps what Adrian said was true.

...

The more she recalled the scene from that night, the more it felt like a heavy fog. When she was with the man who had entered the room on the bed, she vaguely sensed something was off. Yet under the effects of the drug, her entire being was overwhelmed by desire, leaving her to think she’d only ever seen Adrian in clothes and didn’t know how much stronger his real physique was.

After all, seeing each other naked is naturally different from estimating by eye.

This excuse, in retrospect, seemed like comforting herself, too flimsy to hold water.

Rosalind White bit her lip hard, tasting the blood seeping into her mouth, barely holding onto the edge of sanity.

"Adrian, answer me, is what you said true? That night, was it really Cecilia who was with you?"

"You spent the night playing Battlegrounds with her? No... please don’t hurt Rosalind’s heart like this, I beg you... Rosalind has nothing left but you..."

Tears welled up in the girl’s eyes. Painfully, she let go of the hand covering the left side of her face and instead covered her ears, as if she didn’t want to hear how Adrian would reply.

...

Adrian looked at her with extreme indifference, a faint, unclear emotion flickering in his eyes.

Neither pity nor ridicule.

Toward the predicament of Rosalind White, Adrian was the clearest from the beginning; he understood that Rosalind would one day be bitten back by her own greed.

"Rosalind White, do you think I have any need to deceive you?"

Of course, there is!

How many men dream of a life with both a stable home and new pursuits flying high? Perhaps Adrian was no exception.

Rosalind thought so, but her lips quivered several times, entirely unable to convince herself.

Fearfully stroking her stomach, she finally broke down in a scream.

"Ah—"

"This isn’t true!"

The woman’s face was contorted as she looked at Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law, her teeth chattering, tears blurring her vision.

Rosalind White laughed wretchedly twice like a madwoman and quickly dashed out.

...

Stacy Summers, just back from a shopping trip to the supermarket, saw the deranged look on Rosalind White’s face as soon as she entered the door.

"Rosalind, what’s wrong with you?"

Though, since a certain incident, Stacy Summers had seen through Rosalind’s facade, she was still a child she’d watched grow up. Despite no longer being as close as before, seeing Rosalind so frantic tugged at her heartstrings.

Who would’ve thought Rosalind would hysterically shove the older woman aside?

"Don’t you dare pretend to pity me with your crocodile tears! Get lost! All of you, get lost!"

Rosalind roared, her voice hoarse.

She laughed and cried, casting glances at Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law, finally turning into a gaze filled with intense, dark hatred.

Stacy Summers, despite being more robust than others her age, was nevertheless unprepared; she almost fell when pushed by a young Rosalind. Quickly, Cecilia Vaughn reached out and caught her.

"Grandma, are you okay?"

...

"I’m fine."

Stacy Summers shook her head with lingering fear, looking at Rosalind White, who was staring at the interlocked wrists of her and Cecilia, resentment in her eyes quickly turning fierce.

"Rosalind, you—"

What happened to Rosalind?

Even if she’d had some mean streaks before, today’s ghost-like apparition was truly terrifying.

Without knowing the full story, Stacy Summers felt completely clueless.

"Let her be."

Adrian Law spoke coldly.

Hearing just those four words, Rosalind White giggled maniacally.

"Fine, fine, fine..."

"Adrian... so that’s how you see me. I’ve loved you blindly for so many years, only to be outshone by a woman you’ve known for just a few months."

Rosalind deeply doubted that both Adrian and Cecilia knew about her past affair.

Yet they watched as she sunk into the quagmire!

...

At that moment, Rosalind White was lost in a sea of self-pity, forgetting entirely that she and Fiona Vaughn had planned to set Cecilia up with that old scoundrel Adams. As fate would have it, karma intervened, and the trap fell onto Rosalind. Yet she placed all the blame on Cecilia Vaughn.

Adrian Law cast a deep, indifferent look at Rosalind White.

"First come, first served? Rosalind White, do you even know what those words mean?"

Hearing the man’s emotionless words, a single tear as large as a bean burst from Rosalind’s eye.

The tear traced a sorrowful path down her cheek, making her even more tragically beautiful.

"Adrian... do you really want to humiliate Rosalind like this? I grew up with you at The Law Residence, and still, I’m less important than this woman who appeared by your side only recently?"

...

Adrian Law chuckled dryly but said nothing in the end.

Rosalind White felt as if her heart were being eaten by countless venomous snakes; her temples throbbed visibly as she cried and ran off.

This humiliation today, she vowed to return a hundredfold in the future!

And this child in her belly...

Where Rosalind White once fervently wished it were true, she now desperately hoped it was merely a doctor’s misdiagnosis.

If she indeed carried a new life within her, Rosalind fiercely clenched her palm, resolved to remove that life as soon as possible!

The hatred, as intense as if it were seeping into her very bones.

One day, she’d ensure Cecilia Vaughn, the woman who came between her and Adrian, meets a bitter end!

...

Cecilia Vaughn led Stacy Summers to the bedroom to calm her nerves.

At that moment, only Adrian Law and Frank Law remained in the living room.

Frank had a vague understanding of the entire incident. He steadily looked at Adrian Law, his expression tinged with a bit of awkwardness.

"Adrian... earlier, I was too rash..."

All these years, Frank had only truly loved one woman. Although his love was never lasting, never able to linger for a single woman.

There were reasons Frank favored Rosalind White.

He thought of Susan Roswell, who passed away early, and Nancy Law, whose beauty was ephemeral too. And now, even his only remaining elder son might not be able to have children, which was his most tremendous remorse toward Susan Roswell...
