Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1036 - 1035: I Trust His Judgment
Mr. Ford woke up not long after the check-up.
He looked at Mrs. Ford, who was accompanying him, and in a particularly low voice, said, "I’ve made you worry."
With just those words, Mrs. Ford’s eyes turned red again.
"I asked Fiona Ford to return."
She looked at Mr. Ford and said firmly, "But this is the last chance."
"Also, you must agree to one condition."
"Alright!"
"Once you get out of the hospital, you must immediately exercise and cooperate with the doctor to take your medicine on time."
Mrs. Ford finished saying it in one breath, and clearly, as her words fell, Mr. Ford was stunned.
He definitely didn’t expect Mrs. Ford’s condition to be this.
He’s someone with good fortune, born into a privileged family, married to a strong and capable wife; while others struggle for their family’s business, he can just relax at home.
It’s also the life of a young master; he doesn’t love exercising and even more so doesn’t like taking medicine when he’s sick.
These habits are something Mrs. Ford has nagged him about for a lifetime; they have been playing this game of wits throughout their lives.
"Alright!"
Mr. Ford nodded firmly, promising Mrs. Ford, "If Fiona doesn’t cherish this opportunity, I will not concern myself with her anymore!"
This was as an adoptive father, giving Fiona Ford one last chance.
After they finished discussing, Mrs. Ford, worried about Mr. Ford’s condition, was the first to leave.
She asked Julian Ford to stay with Mr. Ford in the ward and let Finn Chandler see her off.
Finn Chandler knew Mrs. Ford had something to say to her, so she followed her out.
"Finn."
As they walked and talked, Mrs. Ford didn’t beat around the bush. "Fiona Ford’s matter is my fault towards you."
Two months ago, Mrs. Ford was determined to drive Fiona Ford out.
She did it for the good of The Ford Family and as an explanation to Finn Chandler.
"I initially planned to discuss Fiona Ford’s return with Julian after dinner."
"If she doesn’t return, there will be no peace at home."
Finn Chandler smiled with pursed lips.
Mr. Ford considered Fiona Ford as his biological daughter; how could he bear to see her suffer outside?
Fiona Ford’s complaints were very effective on Mr. Ford.
"There’s no way around it; he’s just that stubborn."
"Originally, he was supposed to marry Fiona Ford’s mother."
As she spoke, Mrs. Ford started to talk about things from many years ago.
"Something happened in The Ford Family, and he couldn’t marry me."
"After being abandoned by her first love, in heartbreak, she went to a bar and was then..."
Finn Chandler was stunned; could it be Fiona Ford is...
"And so Fiona Ford was born."
Mrs. Ford continued, "Her mother, pregnant with her, also married someone else, but not long after, that family resented her for being abandoned by Mr. Ford and carrying a child of unknown origin. They abused her every day."
"She was tormented to the point of being better off dead and contemplated suicide."
"In the end, she couldn’t be saved, leaving Fiona Ford behind."
"He wasn’t assured of that family’s care for Fiona Ford, so he brought her back." Mrs. Ford said in a calm voice, "I couldn’t accept the child from his first love, but seeing his regret and pain, I agreed to let him raise Fiona Ford in The Ford Family."
"It’s nearly impossible for me to treat Fiona Ford as my own daughter."
It was impossible for her to be magnanimous enough to treat her rival’s daughter as her own.
Tolerating Fiona Ford in The Ford Family was her limit.
"Even without you, Fiona Ford could never marry Julian." Mrs. Ford said, pulling Finn Chandler over, "Julian is a very grounded person; I’ve always trusted his decisions."
"In choosing you, I trust his judgment."
