Violet Zimmerman carried the lunchbox and walked in, and when Joseph Lancaster closed the door, he subconsciously locked it again.

Violet put the lunchbox on the cabinet by the bed, noticed Joseph holding the handle and looking at her, and waved him over, "Come here, why are you standing there foolishly?"

Joseph swallowed again, suddenly realizing that something was off about Violet tonight.

He hesitantly walked over, and as soon as he reached Violet, she grabbed his wrist, "Blair said you have a headache, sit down, I’ll help you massage it."

Joseph, as if hypnotized, obediently sat on the bed, while Violet kneeled on either side of him and gently massaged his temples.

In this position, Joseph had to support himself with both hands, his handsome face tilted back, facing Violet; the posture was very intimate.

"Feeling better?" Violet asked.

Whether it was the lingering effect of the aged Maotai, Joseph felt somewhat intoxicated, and a nasal sound escaped involuntarily, "Mm, much better."

"You, always trying to be tough when you can’t drink, next time you’re not allowed to drink!" Unconsciously, Violet scolded disapprovingly.

"Violet..." Joseph opened his almond-shaped eyes, grabbed Violet’s wrist with one hand, only called her name, and then fell silent.

As they locked gazes, Joseph’s bloodshot eyes were filled with a deep affection, gradually replaced by a dark swirl in his deep gaze.

Neither of them spoke, just stared at each other.

Ultimately, Violet broke the silence, biting her lip shyly, "I want to give Robert a little brother..."

Joseph’s slender fingers wandered to Violet’s face, his voice as gentle as flowing water.

"Big brother asked you to come over?"

"Mm," Violet replied shyly, her bitten lips turning pale.

A curved smile appeared at the corner of Joseph’s lips, dazzling like plum blossoms blooming in winter.

As his arm bent behind, Violet gasped and fell into his chest.

"Joseph..." She only uttered two words before her breath was cut off, as Joseph’s warm lips descended.

The man who had been drinking was more passionate than ever.

"Violet... Missing you... I’ve wanted you for a long time..." Whispered sweet nothings spilled from their lips...

Before he had been with a woman, he hadn’t felt anything; but now, having been with one, he couldn’t quit.

He thought of her, day and night, countless times in his dreams...

Aroused passion spread like wildfire, they were clearly both moved, yet their eyes remained firmly locked.

Violet encircled Joseph’s neck, her water-colored eyes firmly locked on him, her slightly pursed lips with an unintentional coquettish pout.

"Joseph, would my long hair look good?"

"Silly, any hairstyle looks good on you."

"But I want to grow long hair, like Secretary Vesper,"

"Violet, you are you, you don’t need to compare yourself with unrelated people," Joseph once again pressed his thin lips down.

Even with Vesper Carter in between, he could feel her displeasure; his woman didn’t need to compare with anyone, because his woman was unique, one of a kind in the world.

"But, mom said Secretary Vesper’s hair looks good," Violet was still entangled in this matter.

Joseph smiled helplessly, his almond-shaped eyes glinting with charm, "Seems like I’m not trying hard enough, still having the mind to talk about others with me."

...

Violet suddenly gasped in surprise, and every sound she made afterward seemed fragmented and broken.

The endurance of a man who has been drinking lasts longer; half an hour had passed, and Joseph still tirelessly continued.

Violet bit her lip, her face blooming like a peach blossom.

Even if she didn’t answer, Joseph knew, she was longing for him, because her body was honest.

An educated man likes to read, especially books on science; although he didn’t choose medicine, he learned some simple knowledge from books.

In the end, Joseph’s hand quietly reached down and redirected all his passion elsewhere, his deep almond-shaped eyes focused on Violet, thinking to himself, for their happiness, let him be selfish for once.

When Violet came out of Joseph’s room, an hour had passed, and as she walked down the stairs, Blair Williams’ eyes reflected curiosity.

Violet curved her lips at her, supporting herself against the stair railing, forcing herself not to show her weak legs.

"Madam, are you going back?"

Blair warmly approached, the curiosity in her eyes vanished.

"Mm, Joseph said he had a headache earlier, and I helped him with it."

Violet dismissively found an excuse, usually it took about half an hour, but unexpectedly, this time it took so long.

"Madam, it’s late, should I accompany you back?"

Blair proactively supported Violet’s arm, her warmth today seemed unusual; previously, when she saw Violet it was only a respectful "Madam."

"No need, you should rest too." Violet kindly declined, always gentle even in front of servants, never putting on airs.

Only she didn’t notice that when Blair approached to support her arm, she quietly leaned in and took a discreet sniff.

Returning to her quarters, Robert Lancaster was already asleep, pillowing on Daxton Lancaster’s arm, father and son slept on one bed, leaving a nightlight on.

Violet tiptoed into the bedroom, even her movements when closing the door were light, for fear of waking the sleeping father and son.

Yet just as the door was closed, Daxton’s lazy voice sounded.

"Back already?"

Violet...

Her steps halted, her body followed with a tremble.

Though it was at Daxton’s behest, she still felt guilty, as she had witnessed Daxton’s history of fickle behavior.

Suppressing the nervousness in her heart, Violet gently approached the bed, softly murmuring, "Mm."

Daxton lay flat on the bed with his eyes closed, lazily asking, "Why so long?"

Violet removed her clothes and got under the covers, bravely replying, "Joseph said he drank, men are like this after alcohol."

This was what Joseph had told her earlier.

"Mm, get some rest, put Robert in the crib."

"Okay." Violet got out of bed, carefully picking up her sleeping son, gently placing him in the crib.

Just as she returned to bed, Daxton turned off the light, his body shifting over, with one arm sliding under Violet’s neck, down to rest on her lower belly, lightly caressing as he asked, "Did you enjoy it this time?"

Violet...

Her body stiffened, her heart instantly alarmed, anxiously turning to Daxton, "Daxton, you..."
