The atmosphere turned awkward next, Joseph Lancaster buried his head in his porridge while Violet Zimmerman slowly sipped a glass of water. Before going on a business trip, Daxton Lancaster had specifically instructed the kitchen to steam some chicken custard for her, yet she hadn’t touched it.

Although Joseph Lancaster didn’t look up, he was actually sneaking glances in this direction, and seeing Violet Zimmerman not touching the chicken custard, he immediately threw his spoon into the bowl and walked over again.

Before Violet Zimmerman could react, the glass in her hand was snatched away by him, and then a spoon was thrust into her hand.

"Drink it while it’s hot, it’ll get fishy when cold!"

Joseph Lancaster’s attitude wasn’t exactly kind, but he was concerned for Violet Zimmerman. Seeing her staring dumbly at him, he threw caution to the wind and said something he shouldn’t have.

"Even if you don’t think of yourself, you should think of the Lancaster Family’s future generations. Who knows, maybe right now, you already carry the seed of the Lancaster Family!"

Joseph Lancaster spoke with conviction, and Violet Zimmerman’s face suddenly flushed red. She lowered her eyes, not daring to look at Joseph Lancaster anymore.

"Eat up, don’t just sit there stupidly!"

Joseph Lancaster chided irritably, then grabbed Violet Zimmerman’s hand and scooped up a spoonful of the chicken custard, saying with disdain, "A woman like you, whoever marries you is really unfortunate!"

Clearly a scolding of disdain, yet Violet Zimmerman felt a sweetness in her heart.

Realizing this, she immediately broke free from Joseph Lancaster’s hand, and with the sudden movement, the entire spoonful of chicken custard spilled on the table.

Joseph Lancaster hadn’t expected such a big reaction from her, and suddenly realized that his behavior had crossed a line.

They were uncle and sister-in-law, he shouldn’t be so concerned. It was as if something suddenly dawned on him, and Joseph Lancaster quickly returned to his seat, finished the remaining porridge, laid down his chopsticks and briskly left.

In his haste, he knocked down the chair he had been sitting on, but didn’t stop, pushing open the door and leaving like a gust of wind.

"Phew..."

Violet Zimmerman sighed heavily. A servant who came out to tidy up the table saw the untouched bowl of chicken custard and kindly added a word.

"Madam, better eat it while it’s hot. The second young master is right, the chicken custard will taste fishy when cold."

Violet Zimmerman nodded with a smile, "Got it."

She spooned a bit of chicken custard into her mouth, finding it tasted far better than usual this morning.

Joseph Lancaster swung his leg over the bicycle and pedaled fast, his brows furrowed and face gloomy, as if someone had offended him.

Joseph Lancaster was angry at himself, all morning, he had unconsciously approached his sister-in-law several times. He was unhappy she wouldn’t ride his bicycle, worried when she coughed, and even tried to feed her chicken custard...

If his elder brother saw this, he would surely be displeased.

Joseph Lancaster was frustrated in his heart, constantly reminding himself to stay away from his sister-in-law, yet his body wouldn’t obey his mind!

In the early winter morning, Joseph Lancaster rode his bicycle around the yard, circling it over and over, with no intention of stopping.

Daxton Lancaster was gone for a week on a business trip, and when he returned, he brought many gifts for Violet Zimmerman.

He brought cotton gloves, wool trousers, and a pure wool sweater with flowers sewn in the front, which Violet Zimmerman liked very much. She kept turning in front of the mirror, admiring it.

When Daxton Lancaster took out the items pressed at the bottom of the suitcase, Violet Zimmerman was instantly stunned, holding the sweater and turning her head.

"Daxton, what is that?"

Daxton Lancaster specifically shook the hand bell and then placed it on the bed before continuing to take out the next toy.

"It’s a hand bell, prepared for our future child."
