Violet Zimmerman pursed her lips again, lowered her hands, and opened the lid of the enamel basin.

Joseph Lancaster gazed at her in a trance, his youthful eyes following her movements, tightly gripping the earplugs, and his heart pounding wildly.

If he hadn’t kept his mouth shut, the heart might have leapt out of his throat.

In his daze, a meatball was already brought to his lips, Violet Zimmerman looked at him, holding a spoon in her hand.

Perhaps the light from the chandelier above was too dazzling; at this moment, in Joseph Lancaster’s eyes, Violet Zimmerman’s almond eyes seemed soaked with dew, glistening, her lips curved elegantly, beautiful, yet he felt a pang of heartache.

"Sister-in-law..."

Joseph Lancaster murmured, inexplicably, his heart twitched, a feeling he had never experienced before; it wasn’t excitement, nor fear, but genuine pain.

Violet Zimmerman’s lips curved even higher, and under the youth’s gaze, she withdrew her hand, placing a meatball in her own mouth, then leaned forward, their faces once again drew close.

It was late autumn, the room was warmed, with a suitable temperature; the Alcohol Fermented Meatballs were clearly chilled by the surrounding coldness, yet Joseph Lancaster felt a burning heat.

His phoenix-like eyes stared intently at the woman across from him, his thin lips moved several times but couldn’t produce any sound.

The meatball drew closer as Violet Zimmerman leaned over him; in this motion, the coat draped over her shoulders fell to the floor with a soft sound.

Joseph Lancaster instinctively recoiled, yet no matter where he retreated, the meatball firmly pursued him.

Moreover, there was the headboard behind him, soft pillows blocking his retreat.

His heart was pounding fiercely, thump, thump, like beating drums; his hands clutching the earplugs were propped on the bed, unconsciously tightening the bed sheets.

In his sight, Violet Zimmerman closed her eyes, forcibly fed the meatball from her mouth over, licking on her lips, then landed on the youth’s lips.

Whether it was tasting the flavor on his lips or tracing his contours, in the youth’s vision, it was soft, hot, and sweet.

Like the Alcohol Fermented Meatballs in his mouth, though he only smelled a hint of alcohol, he felt mildly intoxicated.

The youth’s arms propped on either side, body leaning back, his expression pained and conflicted, as if facing a formidable enemy, wanting to retreat yet unable.

After the kiss ended, Violet Zimmerman slightly withdrew her body, her right hand braced on the bed board, her lips curved in a perfect arc, looking at the youth, she softly asked.

"Is it delicious?"

The frightened youth had no thoughts of savoring the taste of the Alcohol Fermented Meatballs; at this moment, Joseph Lancaster resembled a wronged child, staring at Violet Zimmerman with a teary voice.

"Sister-in-law, don’t tease me like this... I’m scared..."

The Alcohol Fermented Meatball was still in the youth’s mouth, while speaking, his left cheek bulged, clearly showing the shape of a meatball.

Violet Zimmerman leaned over again, her hand draped in red cloth covering Joseph Lancaster’s face, "Joseph, don’t be afraid, sister-in-law isn’t teasing you..." In Joseph Lancaster’s noticeably panicked and uneasy eyes, Violet Zimmerman said, "Sister-in-law is serious..."

The crystal chandelier overhead blurred the vision, and in the vision, Violet Zimmerman’s gaze was distant and dreamy, her voice drilling into Joseph Lancaster’s eardrums seemed ethereal.

Especially her slightly raised lips, clearly carrying a smile, but Joseph Lancaster’s heart inexplicably twitched.

Knowing full well he shouldn’t, yet at this moment, he inexplicably felt an urge to comfort her in his embrace.
