Chapter 199: I WAS GOOD, BUT NOW I AM EVEN BETTER

  • Next Chapter

Gavi was happy that his mother would be going, but somewhere right now, he wished to both his parents, so both of them would go too. Just like how his other friends said theirs would be coming.

Though, Gavi was an understanding little kid, and he knew the circumstances, but at the end of the day, he was still a kid after all.

Feeling his heart heavy, he sighed.

But just then he remembered something, and whipped his head towards Dante looking at his a little accusingly.

Wasn’t this Uncle Dante trying to my father? What now? Did i give him a chance for nothing? How come he couldn’t come up with nothing until now!

Not to mention, everybody in his school though that Dante was his father, and because the man was so cool and he liked him, Gavi did not bother to correct them.

Haih... It is hard for him as a child.

But when he turned towards Dante, he already found him staring at him. Dante nodded his head understanding, before giving him a cheeky wink.

And the next second, Gavi’s cheeks turned pink, blushing. It was as if Dante could read what was in his head, and he was reassuring him.

Now feeling reassured, he jumped down the van and skipped away happily, where he found his friends waiting for him at the school gate, and then they walked in together.

After dropping Gavi to school, the car resumed.

On the way, Dove received a text message from an unknown number on her phone.

It read:

[ Hii. Is this Miss Dove?]

Dove looked at the text message with a small frown on her forehead. Who might this be?

This was her private number and not many people knew about this number, except for those closely associated with her.

With the frown still there, she replied back, [Yes]

Dove waited for the sender to reply back. And she did not have to wait for long.

[ Do you remember me, Miss Dove? Liam Harris. We have met before. Lisa must have mentioned me.]

Looking at the text reply, Dove’s eyebrows shot up slightly in surprise. It was the same man Lisa had spoken about her. The date. And thinking about it Dove sighed in her heart.

Liam Harris. Very few people in the whole country may not know about Liam Harris. He was one of the top A listers in the entertainment industry, along with being one of the highest paying actor.

Coming to think about it, he indeed had a reputation of having a very clean image, and has not really been involved in too many celebrity scandals too.

Dove had once had a brief encounter with him in one of the events, when she had accompanied Lisa there. She had met him there for the first time, and had a chat. Liam and Lisa seemed to be on really good and friendly terms. She too had a good impression of him.

But more than that, Dove never really had any other intentions about him.

Now to think that her best friend had set her up on a date with him.

Sighing again, Dove replied back, [ Of course, Mr Harris. How are you doing?]

Somewhere in the heart of the city, A handsome man was sitting on a couch in a studio. Some papers were scattered in front of him, showing that he had been looking through them a while ago.

Liam was leaning back on the couch, a smile tugged on his lips as he typed on his phone. [ I have been doing good lately. But now it seems like I will be doing better.]

After hitting the send button.

Liam opened another tab, showing Dove’s picture. The woman was wearing a white formal dress, and the picture seemed to be taken candidly, when she was not paying attention.

Liam stared at the picture, his gaze locked in it dreamily. His thumb lightly hovered over her face, as he sighed.

Then he received another text message. [ That’s good to hear.] And his lips curved in a smile. He knew that she was also aware of what it was all about. Lisa had told him that she has already spoken to Dove, about meeting him, and she has agreed to it.

Just thinking about it, his heart fluttered.

Finally! Finally, the day has come.

[ I am assuming that Lisa must have already spoken to you about the meeting?]

Liam’s fingers itched to type, ’Date’ instead of the stupid word, ’meeting’, which he did not really think of it.

On the other hand, Dove stared at the message, with her lips pressed into a straight line. Looking at the words, she felt some strange, inexplicable feeling in her heart. It was slight irritation, confusion, discomfort, and when she looked up at the man who was sitting in the driving seat, another subtle feeling of what felt like pain.

Dove just sighed, overwhelmed with all these emotions, at once. And before she could respond, another message popped in. [If it would not bother you, may I call? I think it would be much more easy to just talk rather that texting.]

Dove blinked, and then staring out of the window she saw that they had already reached the company, so she typed replying, [ Well, then ten minutes later?]

And then she slipped the phone into her bag, as the car had driven into the drive way.

Dante got out of the car, and then pulled opened the car door for her.

But unlike always, Dove did not get off the car at once, instead, she stared at the face who opened the door. Her eyes tinging with unshed tears slightly.

Why did it have to be like this? Why did he have to make her heart beat for him? Why did he have to come in her life? Why did he have to be good to her? And above all, how could she fall in love with someone so easily?
