Moonfire Bride: The One they all betrayed...till she awakened

Chapter 208: You should have listened the first time

Irritation.

Disgust.

Instant repulsion.

Anger.

The look that made you feel worthless.

Wolves would never change, even if they knew the truth. That was Della’s thought as she stared at the boy and girl. And that was what she wanted.

For them to look at her with those eyes.

So she would return the look with the same energy once Moonfire eats away at their skin. So she wouldn’t feel any remorse.

"What the fuck do you want?!" The girl hissed as she also crawled back.

Something made them stop abruptly, and they shared a certain look. The next second, they were both smiling again.

The initial shock had disappeared, along with every nerve of fear it might have stirred.

Why should they be scared? Rotbloods are weak and defenceless. The reason she’d been able to sneak up on them was because they were simply hard to sense easily.

The boy stood up calmly and dusted himself off. "Ahhh, look at what you did. You made me scrape my knee,"

"I’ll only say this once," Della’s voice made chills run down their spines, "Find another rock that can serve as a tombstone, fix it back into the ground, leave and never come back,"

The girl burst into laughter, her green eyes glistening. The boy shook his head and smirked, "Rotblood, do you think you can scare us looking and sounding like that?"

Della’s fist clenched under her cloak, and then she stepped forward.

"Whoa, whoa, you wanna fight!"

"If she wants to fight, I’ll gladly beat her up." The girl stated and also stepped forward, "Maybe if I beat her up and dragged her back down to the Packs, everyone would remember how weak a rotblood truly is and would be further convinced that one cannot solve our Moonfire problem,"

The guy also stepped forward, till he was standing directly in front of Della. He could feel her reeking of some unnatural cold, but his arrogance and disbelief kept him standing there, "What the fuck are you gonna do to us if we don’t fix the tombstone, huh? Lian is someone special to you or—"

Della didn’t let him finish.

The head of the cloak suddenly pulled up, revealing her entire face, especially her eyes.

"Moon Godd—" The boy shrieked in fear again and tried to pull back, but she’d already grabbed him by his face...and lifted him clean off the ground.

"Jack!" The girl screamed, right before Della sent the young wolf slamming back into the floor.

The ground cratered under the force alone, and several bones snapped altogether... especially his skull.

"No!! Let him go!"

Della’s other arm shot out, and she grabbed the girl by the face too. A blink later and she was sending the spoilt chick banging hard into the earth again, her extended claws digging into the bones of her face.

Then, she grabbed both of them by the neck and lifted them up again.

They were both bleeding heavily from the head, shaking under the cold clutches of her hand and their eyes were filled with pain and fear.

Good.

The boy’s lips parted weakly, and she could already guess what he was about to say.

Who the hell are you?

How are you so strong?

Please, let me go.

Somebody Help me.

But Della didn’t care.

All she could think of, could remember was the boy punching off the tombstone and the girl destroying the flowers. Unprovoked. Simply because they had felt like it.

"I warned you," She said coldly, squeezing their necks even more, "You should have listened when I asked you to fix it back,"

"S...sorry," The girl said, wriggling desperately as her face slowly began turning pale, "P...pl... please..."

That’s the thing about wolves.

They never would have begged if she hadn’t shown them the other side of her, and now that she had unleashed her fury...she would take it right to the very end.

After Mara, Jarek and Rob... she’d been itching to massacre more wolves.

These people were really unfortunate to climb up here, and even more unfortunate to have been utter losers who dared to look down on her.

Hence, she simply kept squeezing.

She kept increasing the pressure slowly, making sure that each stage of the choke lasted long, and made them wish that she would just end it already.

She didn’t.

She just continued to drag it out.

Continued to watch their faces as they gradually turned paler, watch their eyes swell and begin to bulge, watch the wretched, helpless sounds leave their mouth and their bodies wriggle and tremble against her hands.

And then finally...after ten long minutes of holding them like that...she snapped their necks.

Their bodies went limp, and then she let them drop to the floor.

As she stared at the bodies, she felt absolutely nothing for them.

Slowly, she stared down at her twitching hand and wasn’t surprised at what she saw. It was doing what it usually did.

Fuck it.

She grabbed a leg of the dead bodies and started dragging it into the trees surrounding the mountain, disappearing into the dense leaves.

A few minutes later, she returned without the bodies but she was holding a large rock that was shaped like a tombstone and a whole new bunch of flowers.

The new replacement.

She grabbed a smaller stone nearby and scraped Lian’s name back into it, then she buried it back in the place and dusted off the rock.

Next, she placed the fresh flowers next to the tombstone.

The wind blew lightly from the north, caressing her cheek. Della closed her eyes for a moment, when suddenly she felt a palm against her face.

A small, warm palm that was filled with warmth and love.

Her eyes instantly snapped open.

There was no one there.

Her hand came up to touch the spot where she’d felt the hand, her heart pounding inside her chest.

She knew she was alone.

No one had touched her physically.

But in spirit...

Slowly, she looked down at the grave, and fresh tears made her eyes start to swell.

"Hey," She whispered.

There was no answer.

"I felt that," She continued, caressing her face slowly, her voice cracking, "I felt you, Lian. I know you’re here, and I wish I could see you."

The only reply was a howl in the wind.

"I hope you weren’t watching when I killed those wolves," She said, and then she let out a tiny laugh that made her soul tremble, "They were trying to destroy your grave...and they reminded me of how cruel this world was to Rot-bloods...and I honestly don’t regret what I did,"

Silence.

She placed a hand on the elevated body of sand, "I’ve changed, Lian. And I don’t think I can go back to who I used to be. I don’t want to go back. I love the new me."

She felt the wind on her cheek again.

"I don’t wanna go back," She mumbled, "I will never go back, no matter what,"
