Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 683 - 27: Unmatched

"In reality, all Foundation members who have truly faced the Deep Space Caller, with the exception of the most Elite, must have their memories of it erased after their mission. Otherwise, its power and the rate at which it strengthens are simply unparalleled."

"Such a thorny ability... No wonder you want to suppress all information about it."

Upon hearing this, the Artifice Sage immediately relayed the information to the Zhengguo Aerospace Administration, who in turn notified the lunar team on the Moon. Meanwhile, he repeated doubtfully, "Unparalleled?"

Lady West Tower nodded solemnly, her expression grave.

"Unparalleled."

On the Moon Surface, the space that had been locked down by the Telekinesis of five abruptly appearing, giant Shapeless beings shattered with a boom. A sky full of pale silver flecks of Spiritual Power instantly blanketed the entire area for several kilometers around.

But within this magnificent mist of Spiritual Power, where countless lights reflected off each other, a golden-red blade-light flared. Carrying a scorching, radiant glow, it tore through the flurry of light fragments at eight times the speed of sound, slashing toward the Deep Space Caller before it could even react.

A honeycomb-like barrier of Spiritual Power materialized, but the Blade of Annihilation easily pierced the shield—one strong enough to withstand a barrage from an entire heavy artillery emplacement—and plunged directly into the Deep Space Caller’s right shoulder.

"What?!"

The sensation of its right shoulder melting shocked the Deep Space Caller awake. The monster, having long since modified itself to feel no pain, immediately shot backward, leaving only a right shoulder burned to ash for Su Zhou. It had directly abandoned all parts of its body connected to the Blade of Annihilation and grown a new arm, but the fear and rage of having a limb severed were undeniably real.

"You bastard!" Despite its increased strength, it had still been unable to react to Su Zhou’s attack. Fear mingled with rage as the Deep Space Caller’s back began to writhe, sprouting thick, crystalline wings of light. It was clearly about to shift into its combat form. But in the next instant, Su Zhou gave it no time to transform. The Blade of Annihilation, blazing with enough heat to vaporize steel in a flash, swung down again, forcing the creature to continue its desperate flight.

’Killing Evil People is like sweeping away trash,’ Su Zhou thought, ’Why get emotional about it?’ Gale Seeds drifted around him, controlling jets of Spiritual Qi that allowed him to fly in a peculiar, inertia-less, trajectory-shifting manner. His eyes had already transformed into Dragon Pupils. Su Zhou calmly scanned the Deep Space Caller for any possible weaknesses, then struck with his blade at maximum speed.

The surrounding Indeterminate Walkers tried to block Su Zhou with their bodies and Telekinesis, but they weren’t even fast enough to catch Bai Jingtiao’s group in their vehicle. Before the Blade of Annihilation, their Telekinesis melted like butter.

The Deep Space Caller’s power was still rising rapidly—the more seriously Su Zhou and the other three astronauts took the fight, the stronger it grew. But Su Zhou’s own power was increasing even faster!

A Fire Dragon, formed of black and white cold flames, had even coiled around the golden-red Blade of Annihilation. The Fire of Sin blazed, setting off alarm bells in the Deep Space Caller’s mind.

One fled, one pursued. Soon, the two were locked in a high-speed chase across the Moon.

"Running is useless."

After fleeing for a hundred kilometers, the Deep Space Caller, not being a fool, quickly realized that its mobility was no match for Su Zhou’s while not in its combat form. So, in the next instant, it turned back. Its body shattered into a thousand Supersonic fragments that scattered in all directions, an attempt to evade Su Zhou’s offensive through self-division and regain the initiative.

But Su Zhou’s attack range was far greater than the Deep Space Caller had imagined. Or rather, it had greatly underestimated the upgraded Blade of Annihilation. With a flash of golden Desire Power, the Divine Blade—thrilled to be facing an Undead foe—erupted with unprecedented strength as its master swung it with a firm grip.

BOOM! With a flash of the blade, Su Zhou unleashed a colossal Fire Blade forty meters long and twenty-four meters wide. The purplish-green Demon Fire, mingled with the pure, radiant Flame of the Blade of Annihilation’s Desire Power, instantly consumed nearly all of the Deep Space Caller’s physical fragments. The attack’s momentum didn’t cease; crashing into the Moon Surface, it melted and vaporized vast swaths of Moon Rock, creating a massive Molten Rock Pool.

SPLASH—The instant the Deep Space Caller was engulfed by the Blade of Annihilation’s Flame, all the giant Shapeless beings began to rapidly collapse and melt like sandcastles in the tide. In the distance, the pursued Bai Jingtiao and Gu Yaoluo noticed this. The two in the vehicle exchanged a glance, then a high-five, and burst out laughing, apparently ready to celebrate their victory.

They celebrated a bit too soon.

Su Zhou dared not relax—he hadn’t seen an Evil Soul yet. That was the only sure way to confirm an enemy’s death. He didn’t let this show, however. After a quick check of his positioning, he put on a look of youthful complacency. He even returned the Blade of Annihilation to his Personal Space.

Then, just as Su Zhou seemed to have completely let down his guard and was about to turn back to join the others, the ground began to writhe. Streaks of silver light shot out, raining down on him.
