Monsters Die When Killed
Chapter 653: The Circulation of All Things, Buyi is Only Change Itself
Chapter 653: Chapter 12: The Circulation of All Things, Buyi is Only Change Itself
What did Su Zhou’s full power truly entail? Aside from the National Preceptor and the Water God, likely no one else knew. Only those two could be considered opponents who had fought Su Zhou in a life-or-death struggle, and only in death did they truly understand.
But could that truly represent Su Zhou’s full power?
No. That was merely Su Zhou’s full power back in the Awakening Tier, and when he had just broken through to the Commander Tier. That power no longer counted.
And now, with Su Zhou having awakened his second Divine Technique, what did his full power look like?
Zhou Buyi, and the members of the Tianzheng Alliance surrounding the Divine Wood Seal Circle, had the honor of witnessing it firsthand.
Amidst a thunderstorm that had suddenly converged across the sky, violent serpents of lightning writhed through incandescent vapor. The cyan glow of the flashes illuminated a world growing dim at sunset—and then, a torrential waterfall of Thunder Light descended from the heavens!
In the first second, the instant he saw the sky-filling, cyan-blue Thunder Light of the Dragon Breath rushing toward him like a downpour, Zhou Buyi’s expression changed drastically. He hadn’t fathomed that this was an attack a mere Celestial Spirit Martial God could produce—an area of six square kilometers, with him at the epicenter, was completely engulfed by the bombardment of Thunder Light.
No, it wasn’t just Thunder Light! Having defended against Su Zhou’s Dragon Breath before, Zhou Buyi immediately sensed the truth. The stream of light, which resembled a thunderbolt, was slower than genuine lightning. In essence, it was a volley of ultra-high-speed, super-high-temperature Dragon Breaths! If he rashly tried to block it with defenses meant for lightning, he would just be burned to cinders! He could, in fact, block it. The problem was, last time he had only blocked a few streams. The Dragon Breath now, in sheer volume, was at least ten thousand times greater than before!
“Is this even fair?!”
With a furious roar, the giant wooden effigy that was Zhou Buyi abandoned all other thoughts. It rooted itself to the ground as countless vine-like tendrils erupted from its legs, burrowing deep into the earth to draw upon Earth Vein Power. Simultaneously, its eight arms formed different Secret Seals. Accompanied by a solemn Secret Spell, layer after layer of Spiritual Shields, which fused the essences of Daoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism, materialized before it.
And that wasn’t even its limit. Soon, the enormous wooden effigy transformed into a true giant tree. Its eight arms and head became the main boughs, its torso the trunk. With itself as the pivot, countless fine branches and leaves sprouted forth, turning it into a lush, ancient cyan tree. On this ancient tree, every single leaf was inscribed with a completely different, yet interlocking, Spirit Pattern.
Instantly, in less than a second, the space above Zhou Buyi was covered by over four hundred different layers of Spiritual Power Secret Seals and shields. The overpowering Spiritual Light from each layer warped the others, creating a domain of pure white that bent light itself. After all, Zhou Buyi was not merely a Martial Artist. He was also an heir to the Hundred Schools Daoist Skill of old. Over a century of Cultivation had long since allowed him to hone his Daoist Martial Arts to perfection.
Then, upon this domain of pure white, the cascading Thunder Light struck like a Torrent descending from the heavens. It arrived with a deafening roar, consolidating into a massive stream of light that crashed down upon the shields.
In the second second, all four hundred-plus layers of defensive shields shattered. They were utterly annihilated, melted away by the sheer, brute force of the Dragon Breath. The intense light and shockwave from the collision between the shields and the Breath were like a false dawn, illuminating the distant New Southern Celestial Capital. The Martial Artists enforcing the lockdown in the city felt the terrifying Spiritual Power fluctuations behind the radiance and could not help but shudder.
But this was not outside Zhou Buyi’s expectations. He understood perfectly well what Su Zhou meant by “going all out”—it was a Burst that expended every last bit of his power in ten seconds, completely disregarding the toll and damage to his own body. The probing attacks and defensive maneuvers common among ordinary Martial Artists were meaningless against this kind of Burst, an attack that only an Undead could unleash so recklessly.
As it happened, he was also an Undead. So the enormous cyan tree began to expand rapidly. The ground could be seen sinking as Zhou Buyi absorbed immense amounts of soil and water, temporarily converting them into part of his body. In an instant, the crown of the tree underwent Crystalization, becoming translucent and clear, and it too began to radiate a cyan Spiritual Light.
The Thunder Light Breath, having smashed through the shields, continued its descent, crashing upon the tree’s crown. As the endless impact and intense heat sank into the crystalized branches and leaves, it was as if they had been swallowed by a void, completely absorbed by the giant tree.
However, in the third second, the crystallized crown of the giant tree that was Zhou Buyi began to melt. Having absorbed an excess of energy, it started to collapse in on itself and turn to ash. But before it could fully melt, the forcibly absorbed energy was released in an explosion, colliding head-on with Su Zhou’s descending Thunder Light Breath. In that instant, a shockwave even greater than the first one blasted away every loose object within a one-kilometer radius. Whether it was the wreckage of buildings or loose soil, everything was sent flying by a violent gale, only to be vaporized in midair into a golden-red, molten steam.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! The sound of shattering rock echoed in the fourth second. At this point, the spectating Martial Artists who had been sealing off the combat zone turned without hesitation and began to flee. The earth itself was fracturing. The superheated, molten steam had formed a visible tornado, and the air was filled with the acrid stench of hot metal and heat intense enough to vaporize a person. A small portion of the cyan giant tree’s crown was now missing, leaving a glaringly obvious crater, yet the Thunder Light was still falling.
