Chapter 1737 1737: The Mystic Plane's Changes
"…I definitely wasn't expecting this to happen so soon."
Whoosh!
Spending a bit more time to adjust to his newfound strength, Marcus slowly opened his eyes as he responded to the young man's congratulations with a wide smile.
"I know Mystia and I have already repeated it a number of times at this point," the man said, letting out a slight chuckle. "But you've really snagged a gem for us this time, Valyr."
"…Though, it would've been great if you told me he had something like that beforehand."
"How would I know his energy would also make the Mystic Plane grow?" said Valyr in return, looking at Marcus with a wronged expression.
"From what I could remember, the only reason why the plane grew so much back when I was first inducted was because of my Prime Azure Energy."
"In contrast, what Ataraxia has control over is just a greatly purified form of mana. Unlike Prime Azure Energy, it's not really a brand new type of energy."
"It's not a brand new type of energy, yes." The man nodded in agreement. "However, that only applies to the universe."
"On the other hand, the existence of True Arcana is entirely brand new to the Mystic Plane," he continued.
Getting the feeling that the young man was still confused over his explanation, he decided to give him an example.
"Though the effects your Prime Azure Energy and your student's True Arcana have brought to the Mystic Plane are incredibly potent, it's not the first new energy the plane has accepted."
Pointing at Mystia beside them, Marcus gave both Valyr and Ataraxia a slight smile. "With the help of a special elixir, Mystia was able to push her mana to Arcana."
"Unsurprisingly, since she was already the Saintess of the Mystic Plane during that time, the Mystic Plane took note of that and responded accordingly, expanding its landmass in correspondence to the new type of energy."
"To be honest, that energy was the key to my strength being brought back to the Myth level," said the man, giving Valyr a knowing look.
Understanding what Marcus meant by those words, the latter faintly nodded as a look of understanding appeared on his face. "So, in other words, the more types of energy those that become part of the Mystic Plane have, the better?"
"More or less." The man nodded in agreement. "Though, having a Myth join our ranks would most likely also cause changes of a similar scale."
"Makes sense." Valyr nodded once more. "Anyways, what kind of things changed now that the Mystic Plane is a middle concept plane?"
"A lot." Looking at the curious expressions the trio were giving him, Marcus looked back at them with a smile as he conjured a wisp of Mystic Energy.
Whoosh!
"For one, the overall foundation for Mystic Energy has become more solid now that it's a middle plane," said the man, willing the energy he conjured to circle him. "To be more specific, its foundations as a source of Mystic Energy has become more solid."
"Although having you guys test it out would be the best way to find out how much it's improved, I reckon absorbing Mystic Energy this time around would be around three times as effective as it was before."
Hearing those words, both Mystia and Valyr looked at each other in surprise, while Ataraxia raised his eyebrow in interest.
Though the latter only knew how much he'd gain from the Mystic Plane thanks to the memories he and Valyr shared, Mystia and Valyr knew firsthand how much of an improvement that was.
After all, the two of them had already absorbed energy from the Mystic Plane a number of times.
'As far as I could remember, I only got around 33 points of Mystic Energy per hour back when I tried absorbing from the plane,' muttered Valyr to himself, a pensive look briefly appearing on his face.
'The fact that it's improved to about a hundred points an hour is… insane.'
With each hour in the Mystic Plane netting him around a hundred points of Mystic Energy, it would only take around 2 days for him to double the amount of Mystic Energy he currently had.
And if he wanted to maximize stat bonus [Guardian of the Mystic Plane] gave him in correlation to his Mystic Energy?
Just add about two more weeks of continuous absorption on top of that.
Feeling like he'd given the three enough time to digest his words, Marcus soon continued where he left off. "Aside from the foundation of the plane becoming more solid, it also goes without saying that the number of potential intruders to this plane have drastically decreased now that this is a middle concept plane."
"In other words, your duties as the Guardian of the Mystic Plane have become even looser than before," the man said, giving Valyr a knowing grin.
"As if I wasn't already doing so little after becoming the plane's Guardian," replied the young man, shaking his head with a smile. "How about your personal strength?"
"Surprisingly, I'd say my strength has undergone the greatest change," answered Marcus after giving it a bit of thought. "Remember how strong I was back when you last met me?"
"Around Rank 7 or Rank 8, right?" asked Valyr, trying to recall the man's strength after he became a part of the Mystic Plane.
"Somewhere around there, yeah." Marcus gave a slight nod. "In comparison to that, my current strength has already reached the peak of the Myth level."
"In other words, the Ancient level."
"…Damn." Listening to the words the man said to him, Valyr could not help but suck in a cold breath of air in response. "How far into the Ancient level are we talking?"
"Just the Ancient level, or…?"
"I'd say it's solidly in the middle between an Ancient Monarch and an Ancient Sovereign," said the man after spending a bit more time assessing his current level of strength.
"Though, I'm pretty sure it won't be long until I fully stepped into the ranks of Ancient Sovereigns," he continued, giving both Valyr and Ataraxia a knowing smile.
Understanding what Marcus was pointing at the moment he noticed the smile on the man's face, Valyr faintly smiled in response before turning to look at his other self.
"How about you, Ataraxia?"
"What did you get after becoming the plane's Archivist?"
