Chapter 1714: A Meeting Between Universes (11)

“The pinnacle…”

“…Of its realm of existence?”

As these words left Mimir’s mouth, the old man blankly stared at his companion for quite some time, wondering where he got the idea from.

After all, as far as he could see, the only difference between the orb of Arcana in front of them and the orb of Arcana earlier was the potency of its energy.

Considering that Odin was the one that asked the question, was there something he had missed while looking at the differences between the two orbs?

…Or was there something he missed solely because he lacked the realm of existence necessary to perceive it?

’…Even if that were the case, is it even possible for energy to have a realm of existence in the first place?’ asked Mimir to himself, the latter thought lingering in his mind as he shifted his gaze towards Eve.

Faintly wondering whether or not his companion had just spouted utter nonsense out of nowhere, that thought came to a grinding halt the moment he noticed a faint trace of a smile on the edge of the latter’s lips.

’…’

’…Eh?’

Feeling as if his understanding of the universe and its workings had been turned upside down at that very moment, the old man’s eyes widened in disbelief as he remained utterly silent.

Unsurprisingly, the gears in his mind began to madly turn not long after that, pondering over the discovery he had accidentally stumbled upon whilst glancing back and forth between Eve and Odin from time to time.

’Energy… seriously has a realm of existence?’ he asked himself once more, still in the process of accepting this newfound discovery.

’Wait… seriously?’

On the other hand, while Mimir was pondering over his words from earlier, Odin was stunned speechless after seeing the same faint smile grace Eve’s lips.

After all, even though he asked that question with a tone of confidence, the old man had only come up with the assumption after looking over the transformed orb of Arcana with his senses as a Celestial Ancestor-level being.

With that being said, since it was merely an assumption, he still held doubts towards the thought, considering that he had no prior basis nor evidence backing up the claim.

Yet, against all odds, it turned out that the energy in front of them had really reached the pinnacle of its realm of existence.

’Energy… has a realm of existence?’

As this question lingered in both Odin and Mimir’s minds, Eve turned to look at Adam and Azazel, only to then notice the slightly amused smiles on their faces.

Briefly chuckling in return, the woman faintly shook her head before returning her attention back to the two old men.

“Judging from your reaction, would I be correct in saying that you weren’t expecting such an answer?” she asked Odin, the faint smile on her face widening.

“Well…” Though he was embarrassed after hearing the truth be revealed to everyone, the latter inwardly let out a sigh to compose himself before looking back at Eve with a faint yet confident smile.

“Though the idea does seem far-fetched if I were to take the current circumstances of our universe into consideration, it’s not as if the topic hadn’t popped up a couple of times among us in the past.”

“However, unlike us, where the idea was merely considered an afterthought, your universe had undoubtedly explore a great deal regarding the topic, solidly confirming the existence of the same realms among energies.”

“…Now that I’ve mentioned it, I guess it only makes sense that the next evolution of mana has something to do with its realm of existence evolving.”

As those words left his mouth, Odin gave the woman before him a slight chuckle.

“After all, as I’ve mentioned earlier, the energy within the orb has already reached the pinnacle of the Mortal level in terms of its potency.”

“And you would be correct in assuming thus,” Eve replied, nodding in agreement not long after.

“Although I’ve said that what you see in front of you is merely a stronger version of Arcana, in reality, it’s the strongest form of Arcana within our universe that’s considered to be relatively stable.”

“Because of how stable it is and how potent its effects are, we’ve decided to differentiate it from normal Arcana by giving it the ’True’ prefix, thus giving it the name True Arcana.”

“True Arcana,” Mimir murmured in response, having absorbed all of the words thrown out by both sides thus far. “Considering the stark difference in potency between the two, it is undoubtedly deserving of such a name.”

On the other hand, Odin raised his eyebrow at Eve after hearing those words. “So, you’re telling us that there’s a form of Arcana that’s far stronger than what you’ve shown us?”

“Though highly volatile, it does exist,” answered Adam in the latter’s stead as he nodded.

“Would it be possible to get a glimpse of it?” asked Mimir in return, his gaze now on Adam as his eyes glistened with curiosity.

“Of course, if it’s volatile to the point that it would put all of us in harm’s way, then it’s understandable if it’s not possible.”

“It’s not that much of a problem,” replied the latter, faintly shaking his head as he assuaged the old man’s worries.

“At most, I’d just have to confine it into a small space.”

Whoosh!

Just as those words left his mouth, Adam extended one of his hands outward before conjuring an orb that looked to be made out of near-transparent energy.

Making sure that the orb would be able to withstand the potential aftereffects of the volatile Arcana bursting, it was only after reinforcing the orb over a hundred times did he start to infuse the orb with strands made out of far stronger Arcana.

Swish… swish…

Watching the orb slowly take on a color that flickered between an ethereal cyan and a chilling silver, both Odin and Mimir’s eyes gradually widened in shock after noticing the difference in potency between it and the True Arcana from before.

“This…” Sucking in a cold breath of air as he continued to stare at the orb of volatile Arcana, Mimir briefly glanced at the trio before giving Odin a glance. “…This has twice the potency of True Arcana.”

“It’s not surprising if you look at it from a Celestial Ancestor’s perspective,” replied Odin, his gaze also glued towards the near-transparent orb. “After all, just as we’ve been discussing earlier, True Arcana has reached the pinnacle of the Mortal level.”

“And this energy?” asked Mimir in response, even though he already had a feeling he knew what he’d hear.

“It’s broken through the next realm,” answered Odin as he tried his best to look calm on the outside.

“In fact, if I were to give it a rough level of power…”

“…Then it’s stabilized at the early stages of the Immortal level.”
