Chapter 1713: A Meeting Between Universes (10)

Whoosh!

With their attention wholly focused on the orb of energy before them, both Odin and Mimir’s eyes widened in surprise after witnessing the mana within the orb switch to Arcana.

Seeing that a number of thoughts began to form in their minds judging by their expressions, Eve decided to delay introducing the next transformation for a bit.

After all, with the two of them being one of the strongest beings in their own universe, it went without saying that they could glean a lot more from the orb of energy than the usual bystander.

“This…” By the time a couple minutes of passed, Mimir’s eyes widened in further, looking at Eve in shock as realization dawned on him.

“Am I… correct in assuming that the transformation was achieved through pure optimization?”

“More or less.” The latter nodded with a smile, somewhat glad that the old man had caught on.

“Though the elements making up the energy have yet to reach their limits, the quality and quantity used in its creation have definitely been optimized to achieve this level.”

“The same could be said for the method used to form the energy in the first place, actually,” she continued, faintly chuckling.

“Although the initial goal was to achieve the highest quality possible for mana, the incessant number of refinements and tweaks made to the creation method caused the sheer volume of changes to eventually transform into something more qualitative.”

“Thus resulting in the energy you see before you.”

As both Odin and Mimir intently listened to the explanation Eve gave them, the two continued to look at the orb of Arcana for a bit longer, the gears in their minds turning as they used the energy as a basis for the eventual upgrades they’d make to their own energy.

Unsurprisingly, the two of them even asked her to will an orb of mana to appear beside the orb already in front of them, hoping to get a better idea of what differences there were between the two.

Slightly amused by how engrossed the two old men looked at that moment, Eve eventually agreed to their idea, confident that doing so would increase the chances of them accepting her initial offer.

Whoosh!

And so, with another orb containing mana appearing beside the one already there, the woman watched as the two delved even deeper towards examining the two energies as their expressions turned pensive.

At the same time, both Adam and Azazel sent them messages concerning her actions, wanting her to make sure that she didn’t give the two too much information on their main energy.

In response, Eve told them that she had it all under control, dispelling the orb of mana without hesitation after noticing that looks of both understanding and realization appeared on Odin and Mimir’s faces.

“So, what did you notice?”

Though he slightly frowned at having his train of thought come to an abrupt stop thanks to one of the orbs disappearing, Mimir took in a deep breath before responding to her question with a hint of excitement.

“Having the orb of mana as reference just further confirmed my earlier speculation,” he said, briefly glancing at Odin.

Seeing the latter faintly nod back at him, the old man nodded at return before continuing his train of thought.

“By purely relying on refining and optimizing the elements and the method used to form your energy, you were able to improve the potency of your energy by around 50%.”

“With the energy undergoing through that much of an improvement, it’s undoubtedly worthy to be called the first evolution of your main energy.”

“In fact, it’s the exact opposite of what went into the creation of our Myth Energy, with Mythos pretty much abandoning most of the concepts that made up aether.” At these words, the old man gave her a slightly bitter smile.

“…Speaking of which, you said that this energy is the first evolution.”

After giving Eve and the other two some time to ponder over his words, Mimir redirected the conversation back to the orb of Arcana in front of them.

Then, with a curious yet anticipatory look, he asked, “Would it be possible to witness the subsequent evolutions that come after?”

“Well…” Hearing the old man’s request, Eve looked back at him for a bit, noticing the traces of an underlying motive briefly hidden beneath the former’s gaze.

Though, once she noticed that his gaze had become truly sincere, she turned to look at Adam and Azazel for a bit, her eyebrow raised as she sent them a message.

Receiving their responses not long after, she then gave them a faint nod before looking back at Mimir with a faint knowing smile.

“Is this to gain further confirmation of our confidence? Or is it because of your innate curiosity as a God of Wisdom and Knowledge?”

“A mix of both,” replied the latter after giving it some thought, laughing as he felt like he’d been caught red-handed. “Though, if I were to be honest, it’d be more of the former.”

“Makes sense.” Eve nodded in understanding. “After all, even I wouldn’t expect to sway you by only showcasing a single example.”

“However, what if I told you that there exists a far stronger version of Arcana in our universe?”

Whoosh!

As those words left her mouth, she willed the Arcana making up the orb to undergo a minor transformation.

Then again, even though the transformation was considered minor in comparison to mana, the aura it began to give off made Odin and Mimir look at it with even greater intent, immediately noting the sudden increase in potency.

“This…” Spending a bit of time to regain his bearings, the latter closely examined the transformed Arcana, only to then close his eyes as he compared it to the Arcana he had examined before.

“It’s… now twice as potent compared to mana,” he murmured, looking at the trio with slight wonder. “And this is merely considered a stronger version of Arcana?”

“It is.” Eve nodded, feeling a hint of pride from the reaction Mimir was giving him.

“…I see.” At the same time, Odin concluded his findings regarding the differences between the current Arcana and the previous Arcana the former had shown before.

Looking directly at Eve, he asked, “Do tell me if I’m asking too much, but…”

“…Am I correct in assuming that this energy has reached the pinnacle of its realm of existence?”
