Chapter 1701: Entering Seclusion (7)

Briefly opening his eyes to confirm that his other self had indeed left to head to the Meltierre Killing Grounds, Valyr let out a soft exhale to sort out his thoughts before spending a bit of time going over his progress these past few weeks.

Whoosh!

Extending one of his hands outward, the young man willed a bit of his Prime Azure Energy to manifest on top of it, allowing it to take on the form of a small orb.

’Hmm…’ Closely examining each element that made up the energy, as well as the intricate yet stable fusion that occurred between them, the young man soon began to nod in slight satisfaction.

’Looks like the two energies are finally on even grounds,’ muttered Valyr to himself, inwardly letting out a sigh of relief as he continued to move the orb of energy in accordance with his thoughts.

’At first, the balance between the two was lopsided,’ he thought, warping the orb to take on a number of simple shapes.

’After all, with the previous Shadow Energy being replaced with Void Energy, that meant there was an entire tier of qualitative difference between them.’

As these words lingered in his mind, Valyr thought back to the first time he had changed Shadow Energy for Void Energy back in the Shadow Plane.

Though it had undoubtedly increased its potency and efficacy when used to power various skills and spells, it had also introduced a slight volatility to the energy, making it give off the feeling that it could collapse at any moment.

Fortunately, with the help of the Intents he had comprehended, as well as the efforts he had put into improving the purity of his mana in the past, the chances of the energy actually collapsing were incredibly low.

However, that did not mean he was fine with just leaving his Prime Azure Energy the way it currently was.

After all, for his energy to truly showcase its maximum potency, the two constituent energies that made up the energy needed to be at the same tier of quality.

Not only that, but with the inclusion of the Truth Weaver Scripture in the creation of the energy itself, the concepts he comprehended regarding both energies needed to be at the same level as well.

Though he was able to fix the latter and even improve its strength even further with the help of the Ocean of Crystallized Truths, the same could not be said for the former.

That was… until Ataraxia showed him the energy he now wielded after reaching the 27th level of the 81 Phases Mana Reformation Scripture.

Recalling that he was able to practice the same scripture at that very moment, the young man immediately understood what he needed to do, showing no hesitation in spending the same amount of time his other self towards the endeavor.

Of course, that decision came at the cost of forgoing the other plans he had in mind before his ascension.

However, unlike those plans, the possibility of his Prime Azure Energy finally achieving an equilibrium before ascending to Rank 5 had a more tangible effect.

In fact, the young man had a feeling that the system would reward him for making such a decision after their eventual ascension.

And so, with his mind made up on solving the imbalance inherent within his Prime Azure Energy once and for all, Valyr delved deep into the 81 Phases Mana Reformation Scripture.

At first, he was confident that he’d be able to reach the same level Ataraxia did on the scripture within the month he’d given himself.

After all, the latter had already made inroads into the scripture before obtaining [Perception of the Grand Origin].

On the other hand, he was practicing the entire scripture from scratch with the title already active.

With that in mind, the young man dedicated most of his focus towards the scripture, easily reaching its first bottleneck within a matter of days.

Feeling his mana transform into Lesser Arcana after reaching it, it went without saying that Valyr felt great excitement.

In fact, it wouldn’t even be far-fetched to say that he felt he could reach the 27th level of the scripture before he could even reach the deadline he’d given himself.

However, just as he was about to continue practicing the scripture to its 10th level, the Prime Azure Energy within his body began to react, instinctively realizing that the mana coursing throughout his body had risen in quality.

Seeing that he wouldn’t be able to push the scripture any further if he didn’t fuse the upgraded mana into his Prime Azure Energy, the young man went ahead and did just that, spending a few days just to make sure that the fusion was seamless.

By the time he was done, he immediately noticed that the energy had lost most of the volatility it gave off, which unsurprisingly caused a satisfied smile to briefly appear on his face.

Aside from that, the power contained within the energy had also grown thanks to the fusion, giving him the feeling that he could use far less energy to achieve a similar effect with a certain skill.

Of course, whether or not such a feeling turned out to be true remained to be tested.

However, with the first transformation of his mana already giving him that feeling, the young man knew that he had to push his comprehension of the scripture to the 18th level at the very least.

’Thankfully, I was able to reach the 18th level just a few days earlier,’ muttered Valyr to himself, only to then will the Prime Azure Energy he released into more complex forms.

Eventually, he reached a point where the form he chose became too complex, prompting him to dispel the energy he released before returning his attention inward.

’Though it would be nice to reach the 27th level within the month I’ve given myself, that would probably skew the energy in the opposite direction,’ thought the young man, closing his eyes as he took a calming breath.

’For now, I’ll just push my comprehension of the scripture as far as possible.’

’…’

’…’

’…I hope I remember to send Ataraxia a message once a week passes.’
