Feeling both empowered and relieved by the fact that he had finally pushed his mana circuit to the highest stage it could go, Ataraxia let out a long sigh as he slowly opened his eyes.
Turning to look at his other self, he quickly noticed that Valyr was still in the midst of practicing the 81 Phases Mana Reformation Scripture to higher levels.
’Eh? How much time has passed since I worked on the mana circuit?’
Recalling that Valyr had given himself a deadline of a month to push the scripture as far as possible, the young man was slightly confused to see that the former had yet to open his eyes.
After all, a month had already passed since he worked on his circuit, no?
’Wait…’ Getting the feeling that his sense of time had become faulty after working on his mana circuit for so long, Ataraxia slowly took in a deep breath as he asked the system to show him the current time.

Receiving a response from the system not even a few seconds later, the young man went ahead and looked at it for a bit, only to then begin doing some calculations in his head.

’Then convert the extra minutes to hours…’
As he could still recall what time it was when the two of them proceeded with their task, Ataraxia did not take long to compute how much time had passed since the two began their respective endeavors.
Though, once he obtained his answer…

Briefly thinking back to how much time it took him back then to upgrade his mana circuit to the 3rd Stage, the young man could not help but bitterly smile at the thought, recalling that he had done the same thing for the Mana Reformation Scripture.
’At this point, if I want to ’perfect’ my ascension to Rank 5, I would have to comprehend more of the Arcane language, as well as work on making new spells and making greater use of my subclass.’
’…But of course, with how many things both Valyr and I would need to do after ascending, doing all of that would take a lot of time.’
Taking in a deep breath after that, the young man soon laid on the ground, basking in the feeling of relief and relaxation that washed over him the moment he upgraded his mana circuit to the final stage.
Sitting back up not long after, Ataraxia thought about what he’d do for the remaining week as he decided to check what kind of effects his mana circuit now gave him.

This skill allows the user to form a mana circuit that would allow mana to cycle throughout their bodies at an incredibly fast rate, improving the rate at which they regain mana, the damage their magic spells deal, as well as the speed at which they could cast these spells again.
This improvement is highly dependent on the level of mastery and familiarity the user has with the mana circuit. This skill has a total of 10 stages, with each stage considerably more difficult than the last.
However, once mastered to its final stage, one would be able to see a glimpse of the mana circuit that the Grand Sage had created, giving one not only the ability to tap into part of its wondrous properties, but also the ability to tap into the circuit in its entirety.
Current mastery stage: 10th Stage
Current effects:
> 20% increase to performance of all magic spells (Increased to 60% when active)
> 10% reduction to cost of all magic spells (Increased to 30% when active)
> 10% reduction to cooldown duration of all magic spells (Increased to 30% when active)

’…To think I’ve yet to even upgrade the skill,’ muttered Ataraxia to himself inwardly, letting out a wry chuckle as he read through the skill’s description.
Though the improvement the final stage had brought to the mana circuit was considerable at best, the fact that part of the circuit’s effects remained active without him doing anything more than made up for all of his efforts.
Making a mental note to upgrade the skill to its limit once he and Valyr had ascended to Rank 5, Ataraxia soon closed the screen he brought up, only to then send a message to his other self through their connection.
’Hey, Valyr. You busy?’
’…Still in the middle of practicing the mana scripture,’ replied Valyr after a bit, his tone slightly annoyed. ’What’s up?’
’Just giving you a heads-up that there’s still a week before your deadline,’ said Ataraxia in return, his mind already made up on what he’d do while waiting.
’I’ve already done everything I needed to do before ascending, so I’m just waiting for you to finish at this point pretty much.’
’…Are you making fun of me or something?’ the former asked, his tone a bit more annoyed than before.
’A bit.’ Ataraxia briefly let out a chuckle, only for his expression to turn serious soon after. ’Jokes aside, I’m probably gonna head to the Meltierre Killing Grounds while you’re working on the scripture.’
’I see.’ Valyr faintly nodded after giving the words a bit of thought. ’Any reason why aside from passing the time?’
’Well…’ Ataraxia could not help but shake his head, looking at his other self as if the answer was already obvious. ’There’s the fact that we need the XP to push ourselves to the peak of Rank 5.’
’There’s also the fact that the Killing Grounds would allow me to obtain one of your titles,’ he continued. ’Aside from that, there’s also the fact that we’d need a lot of XP to upgrade our skills to the max level.’
’…Especially if we take our penalties into consideration.’
’…Alright.’ Feeling a bit guilty for not being able to contribute, Valyr inwardly promised that he’d make it up to his other self after the two of them ascended to Rank 5. ’I’ll send you a message once the week is up.’
’Gotcha.’ Ataraxia nodded in response, bidding farewell to his other self for the meantime. ’Best of luck to the both of us.’
Hearing those words, the latter gave the former a slight smile.
