MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1696 1696: Entering Seclusion (2)

Bang!

Firing at the chest of a metal training dummy, Valyr had a solemn expression on his face as he watched his shot cause the dummy’s chest to cave in.

Closing his eyes for a bit after that, he then went ahead and reloaded his firearm, inwardly counting the amount of time he spent to reload it.

Bang!

Aiming his flintlock at the dummy’s head this time around, the young man watched as his second shot caused its head to fly off, eventually landing on the ground with a dull thud.

Feeling a hint of satisfaction at the damage his flintlock could unleash, Valyr took in a deep breath after that, closing his eyes once more as he went over the energy circuit he had finalized in his head one last time.

“…Alright.”

Confident that the circuit would yield the effects he wanted, he slowly shifted his attention towards the materials he’d be using to reload his flintlock.

Then, without hesitation, he went ahead and willed both Prime Azure Energy and Intent to combine, only to have it move along the circuit he had been refining this past month.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Though the effects of the energy circuit were unnoticeable at first, by the time Valyr placed his hands on the bag of gunpowder, his actions drastically sped up, allowing him to place both the gunpowder and the bullet into the barrel in just a couple of seconds.

Seeing that no gunpowder was spilled while the skill was activated, the young man began to feel a hint of excitement creep up within him.

However, knowing that the skill would only be considered a true success if it fired a similar shot, the young man suppressed that excitement, calming his senses as he slowly squeezed the trigger.

Bang!

Watching the bullet hit the dummy with the same force as the two previous shots, a feeling of euphoria washed over the young man, causing him to drop his flintlock as he began to jump out of immense glee.

“I did it!”

“I actually fucking did it!”

Continuing to celebrate his success for a bit more, the young man eventually calmed down as he picked up the flintlock he’d dropped.

Nevertheless, a proud smile still hung on the edge of his lips as he tried to use his new skill once more, only to confirm that his first attempt at using the skill wasn’t a fluke whatsoever.

By the time he had thoroughly confirmed that his firearm-related skill was working as intended, the metal training dummy he’d been using as a target had turned into a pile of scrap.

Slightly surprised that his other self hadn’t been forced to open his eyes in response to his actions, Valyr went ahead and cleaned up after himself.

Once he’d made sure that the room was as clean as it was before they entered, the young man took out another metal training dummy from his spatial bracelet, briefly thinking about the bit of time he set aside during the past month to forge them.

‘All that’s left is to register it with the system,’ muttered the young man to himself after that.

Sending a command to the system that he wanted to register a new skill, the system soon gave him a response, prompting him to go through the motions of his newly created skill one more time.

Feeling a slight thrill from the speed at which he armed the flintlock, the system soon confirmed that it had recorded the movements of the skill, allowing Valyr to tidy up once more as he waited for the system’s final assessment.

Ding!

[The system has finished analyzing the recorded movements.]

[Determining the personal skill’s final rarity…]

[The system has judged that the skill you created is a Rare-grade skill.]

‘At least I met the minimum requirement.’ Reading through the notifications he received as he sat beside Ataraxia, a slightly bitter smile appeared on Valyr’s face by the time he was done going through them.

‘Then again, I suppose it makes sense,’ he muttered to himself after giving it a bit of thought. ‘After all, all it does is just speed up the movements needed to reload a firearm.’

‘In the long run, such a skill would probably become useless.’

After getting over the verdict the system had given him on his first personal skill, Valyr went ahead and gave the skill its name and category.

‘For the name, let’s go with Hyper Reload,’ he said inwardly, knowing that the system was listening to him. ‘As for the category…’

‘I guess it could be considered a firearm support skill.’

Ding!

[You have successfully created the active skill ‘Hyper Reload’.]

[Would you like to view the skill’s description?]

Confirming with the system that he indeed wanted to take a look at the skill’s capabilities, a screen containing its description soon appeared in front of the young man.

Ding!

————

[Hyper Reload] (Lv. MAX)

Rarity: Rare+

A personal support skill created by the First Gunslinger of Veldanyr, it utilizes the seamless combination of Prime Azure Energy and an Intent to increase the speed at which a firearm is reloaded.

Though such a skill might seem simplistic in nature, considering the foundation it is built upon, as well as the creator’s lack of experience, this skill could still be improved in various aspects.

Once activated, the speed at which one arms or reloads a firearm is increased by 100%.

Cost: 5,000 MP

Cooldown: 1 second

[Note: This skill can only be used on firearms.]

————

‘Quite straight to the point,’ thought Valyr to himself, faintly nodding in satisfaction after he was done going through its description.

Checking to see how much of a difference there was now that the skill was recognized by the system, Valyr went ahead and took out his flintlock one last time.

“[Hyper Reload].”

Whoosh!

Going through the motion of arming it for firing, at the very moment the skill was activated, the young man watched as his hands moved in a blur, putting both the gunpowder and the bullet into the barrel in less time than before.

Slightly taken aback by how much of an improvement there was to the skill after it was recognized, the young man activated the skill a couple more times after that to get a better idea of how fast he could now reload.

‘Without the skill, it takes me around five seconds to arm the flintlock for firing,’ muttered Valyr, recalling the description on his flintlock back when he upgraded it. ‘However, with the skill activated, it now only take me two seconds to do the same thing.’

Though a couple seconds of difference might not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, Valyr could already envision a situation where he would take out the flintlock in front of his opponent while fighting.

Then, relying on the opposing side’s belief that using a flintlock was a waste of time, he would use [Hyper Reload] to catch them off guard, dishing an insane amount of damage in the process.

Whoosh!

Just as Valyr was continuing to envision fights that involved catching his opponents off guard, Ataraxia opened his eyes all of a sudden, only to release an aura that seemingly transformed the entire room into his own domain.

“…I did it,” he muttered, acclimating himself to his newfound sensation. “I actually did it.”

“I transformed my mana to True Arcana.”
