Chapter 630: The Yin-Yang Harmony Diagram

  • Next Chapter

Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and the effects were immediate.

The moment the Super Divine Beast Yin-Yang Panda Egg came into contact with the liquid containing the dissolved Life Saint Lotus Pill, two distinct beams of light burst from its surface, one black and one white. They were the purest manifestation of Primordial Yin-Yang Energy.

Like a whale drinking from the ocean, the black and white energies began greedily drawing in the medicinal liquid, absorbing it at an astonishing rate. As the Saint-tier healing power took effect, the Yin-Yang Panda Egg slowly began to spin, with the two streams of energy growing increasingly intense as they revolved around the egg at its center.

Gradually, those two energies began to transform into a distinct pattern.

"Damn!"

Marcus could tell at a glance that hatching the Yin-Yang Panda Egg was going to take some time. Watching the strange pattern slowly take shape, his anxiety steadily climbed. He checked the time and his expression immediately tightened. There was only about a minute left before the Seven-Soul Devil arrived.

How could he not panic?

"Hatch... hatch!"

There was nothing else he could do now except stare at the egg and silently pray that it would hurry.

But things didn’t go his way.

After completely absorbing the medicinal liquid from the Life Saint Lotus Pill, the black and white energies surrounding the egg gradually settled into a peculiar formation.

Whoosh... whoosh...

The swirling Yin-Yang energies finally stabilized. With the egg at their center, they formed a clear, three-dimensional black-and-white Yin-Yang Diagram roughly a meter in diameter.

The Yin-Yang Harmony Diagram!

The instant the diagram took shape, an enormous wave of Yin-Yang energy erupted from it. It was like a gigantic tide crashing against the heavens, or flames suddenly bursting from a volcano. The Yin-Yang Diagram began spinning rapidly, yet strangely enough, it did not create even the slightest breeze.

Marcus was standing right beside it, but he could barely feel anything.

What he did notice was the tremendous force spreading outward from the formation. It began drawing two streams of energy from the surrounding environment, one black and one white.

Pure Negative Energy and Pure Positive Energy.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Streams of Yin-Yang energy rose continuously from the surroundings and poured toward the Harmony Diagram in waves. The rapidly spinning formation absorbed them one after another, refining and assimilating them into its own power.

Marcus stared in disbelief.

The Harmony Diagram formed by the Yin-Yang Panda Egg could actually absorb the naturally occurring Yin-Yang energies in the surrounding environment!

He was completely stunned by the sight. What kind of terrifying ability was this?

And what shocked him most was the sheer range.

The edges of the Divine Bamboo Paradise suddenly began to tremble. The Divine Bamboo Illusion Formation that had been concealing the area abruptly collapsed, and once it disappeared, Marcus could see the enormous disturbance spreading far beyond the paradise.

For two or three kilometers in every direction, strands of Yin-Yang true energy were being drawn from the earth and surrounding environment. They rose into the air like countless black-and-white threads before flying toward the Harmony Diagram and disappearing into it.

’Incredible.’

Marcus couldn’t help marveling at the sight. This Yin-Yang Panda was definitely not an ordinary pet.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have much time to admire it.

With the Divine Bamboo Illusion Formation gone, his line of sight suddenly opened up. Through the space where the formation had previously concealed the paradise, Marcus caught sight of something in the distance, directly to the north.

A figure was rapidly approaching.

No, not simply approaching. The figure was leaping and dashing toward him in a series of explosive movements, each step carrying it an astonishing distance while violent bursts of energy erupted beneath its feet.

There was no need to guess who it was; one of the Demon Lord’s Eight Guardians.

The Seven-Soul Devil.

Marcus’s heart immediately tightened. He turned back toward the Yin-Yang Panda Egg, hoping desperately that the earlier changes had finally triggered its hatching.

But nothing had changed.

The egg continued floating there, surrounded by the Yin-Yang energy of the Harmony Diagram. It showed no sign whatsoever of breaking open.

"Damn it!"

Not even the slightest indication of hatching. Was he really going to stand here and watch the Seven-Soul Devil rush over and take away the Yin-Yang Panda Egg he’d gone through so much trouble to obtain?

Marcus was practically ready to cry.

His eyes jumped repeatedly between the approaching figure and the completely oblivious egg. His anxiety and frustration were building so rapidly that he felt like he was about to lose his mind.

Then, just as he was preparing to tear his hair out, he suddenly noticed something strange.

Within the explosive energy surrounding the approaching figure, there were actually two people.

They were fighting.

Two figures flashed in and out of sight as they moved through the air, their positions changing so quickly that they seemed to flicker between the explosions.

As they drew closer, Marcus finally got a clear look at them.

Both appeared to be assassins.

The first was short and stocky, his entire body concealed beneath a relatively tight black sorcerer’s robe. An eerie aura surrounded him, while thick strands of dark demonic energy constantly swirled around his body. His appearance was sinister and mysterious, and even from this distance, Marcus could feel the dangerous aura radiating from him.

The other assassin was his complete opposite.

He was tall and thin, an old man with white hair and a long white beard. A strange white metal mask covered his face, concealing his features completely. What immediately caught Marcus’s attention, however, was the old man’s enormous white cloak. It billowed violently behind him as he moved, giving him an imposing and almost theatrical presence.

Marcus finally understood what was happening.

The black-robed assassin was the one rushing toward him, while the white-cloaked old man was pursuing him from behind.

The black-robed assassin repeatedly used Stealth and Teleportation, attempting to shake off his pursuer, but the old man somehow saw through his invisibility every single time and was able to follow his teleports without losing track of him.

Whenever the old man caught up, he would let out a fierce cry and launch another attack.

His twin blades whirled through the air like falling blossoms, creating a dizzying storm of strikes. Every slash carried powerful elemental energy, and the old man attacked with such ferocity that it seemed as though he intended to cut the black-robed assassin apart on the spot.

The strength behind those attacks was terrifying. The black-robed assassin simply could not shake him.

Faced with the old man’s relentless assault, he had no choice but to reveal several additional arms. Each arm wielded a different fine weapon, and together they desperately blocked and deflected the old man’s attacks while waves of black demonic energy surged around him.

Boom! Crash!

Their weapons collided again and again, unleashing enormous explosions that shook the surrounding area. Those were the violent bursts Marcus had noticed from a distance.

The black-robed assassin was clearly being suppressed, but he was using the explosions to his advantage. Whenever the two sides collided and a blast erupted, he would use the resulting shockwave to create an opening, slipping away through the chaos and continuing toward Marcus.

Only now did Marcus fully understand.

The assassin who could manifest multiple arms was undoubtedly the Seven-Soul Devil.

It was precisely because the white-cloaked old man was relentlessly attacking him that Marcus had been able to notice his presence in the first place. Otherwise, with the Seven-Soul Devil’s terrifying ability to move without leaving behind a trace, sound, or even footprints, Marcus might never have realized that the assassin was approaching until it was too late.

But Marcus couldn’t help feeling intensely curious. Who exactly was this white-cloaked old man?

He was clearly another assassin, yet he could actually fight the Seven-Soul Devil head-on. More than that, judging from the battle unfolding before Marcus’s eyes, the old man had the overwhelming advantage. He was relentlessly pressing the Seven-Soul Devil, leaving the infamous guardian with almost no opportunity to counterattack.

"Damn..."

Marcus was genuinely impressed. This old man in white was ruthless. He could actually suppress one of the Demon Lord’s Eight Guardians all by himself.

And what made the situation even more bizarre was the old man’s reaction. Rather than looking strained or nervous, he sounded almost delighted as he fought.

"Amazing! It’s been ages since I’ve had a fight this satisfying!"
