Chapter 387 - He Hates Me
"You can leave, Meline," Catherine said seeing that Jasmine was too shocked to utter a word. Meline exited the office immediately.
"Jasmine, I don't know how the one who wrote the article got several pictures of you acting so intimately with Nicholas but what I do know right now is that this is more serious than we think," Catherine said as she stare at her best friend which was in shock.
"Apart from everyone misunderstanding you including Jackson, what I know is that the news will have a bad impact on the company. The stock price will be affected greatly more than it did some minutes ago...,"
"If it was only the stock prices I wouldn't have been so worried. Right now whoever paid the reporters to post those pictures must jubilating since Ice Prince must be thinking that I am cheap and unworthy of his love," Jasmine said with misty eyes.
"Hey, Jasmine don't say that...,"
"Why shouldn't I say that when that is the truth? Even I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the pictures of me and that scum acting so in love in those pictures so I wonder what Ice Prince must be thinking," Jasmine said trying to fight back her tears.
Out of all the pictures in the collection of pictures posted, the ones captured in the rain and at Evelyn mum's birthday party were the most intimate.
"I screwed up big time. I should have listened to you when you said that I shouldn't pay attention to him...,"
"Jasmine, stop saying that because it breaks my heart to see you this way. You did nothing wrong but that jerk and the one who paid the reporters to do this are the ones to blame," Catherine said as she held Jasmine hands and stroke them affectionately.
"Ice Prince must really hate me...," Someone barged into the office before Jasmine could finish her words.
On getting a glimpse of the angry woman's face, Jasmine subconsciously stood up to her feet. She watched as the woman walks closer to where she stood.
"Madam...," A tight slap flew across Jasmine's face before she could fathom what the woman was up to.
"How...," Jasmine squeezed the lady's hand standing beside her as a signal for her not to intervene.
"That is for my betraying my son and hurting him," Mrs Smith said angrily. "And this is for ruining the reputation of the company my husband and son works hard to build all these years," Mrs Smith raised her hand to slap Jasmine again but Jasmine who has always been so well-behaved grabbed the woman's hand in midst hair.
"Those who slap me are only able to do that because I allow them. Because I let you slap me earlier doesn't mean that you can get used to that, Madam," Jasmine said emotionlessly.
"I am not someone you paid to unleash your anger on each time you get angry so always refrain from trying to slap me because apart from my parents, I hate others laying hands on my face," Jasmine said as she lets go of the woman's hand. The previously worried Catherine was so relieved to see that her best friend stood up to the woman for the first time.
"How dare...,"
"If you want to talk then we can talk as civilised and mature people but if you can't refrain from shouting, I advise that Madam comes some other times because I am suffering an annoying headache right now," Jasmine said to the shock of the elderly woman who hasn't been treated this way before.
"Are you trying to say that I am making noise?" Mrs Smith asked in a mixture of anger and astonishment.
"I never said such a thing but you did," Jasmine said playing innocent. The woman was momentarily speechless.
"I won't stand here and listen to your nonsense. What I came here to tell you is to stay far away from my son. Don't let me see you around him or you will regret what I will do to you," Mrs Smith said. She turned and left the office in the same manner she came.
"How are you? Are you ok?" Catherine asked worriedly as she touched the spot Jasmine was slapped.
"The physical injury can't be compared to what I feel within. I wouldn't have treated her that way, she had to come at such a bad timing...,"
"I am sure you held yourself back quite a lot. What you did is small compared to what you would have done if she was someone else. You are my best friend so I know that much about you," Catherine said as she made her sit on the couch.
"Wait here and I will get you some ice. We can't afford to let it swell," Catherine said before she stood up and left after assuring Jasmine that everything will be ok.
Jasmine sat there. For the few minutes she sat alone, millions of thoughts began to flow through her mind.
Several imaginations occupied her mind and all these imaginations were those of Jackson getting so disappointed at her and afterwards breaking up with her.
No matter how many imaginations she had, the ending was always the same. He always breaks up with her and this made her very sad.
For the entire day, she waited for Jackson's call but his calls never came. Just because she thought he would drop by like he did the previous day she waited until past midnight. She ended up sleeping over at the office.
Catherine was surprised when she resumed work and saw Jasmine still wearing the same clothes she wore the previous day.
"You didn't go home?" Catherine asked the obvious question as she sat beside her best friend who seems to be doing a lot worse than when she left last night.
"He didn't call, message me or even show up. I was so hopeful that I will get to explain everything to him but he didn't show up. He must hate me right now," Jasmine said as warm tears fall from her eyes.
HAPPY NEW MONTH LOVELY READERS πππ. Happy February 2022!!! HAPPY MASS RELEASE πππ.
It's a new month and time for goals but I don't feel like setting goals this month. The last two months goals were not reached so I feel discouraged to set any goals.
Although I didn't set any goals I promise that as long as we reached a certain number of GOLDEN TICKETS that makes me happy, I will give a mass release.
Also, I promise that as long as we surpass last month number of privileged buyers and privileged chapters unlocked I will give a mass release of 12 chapters. Don't worry, this 12 chapters mass release is not related to GOLDEN TICKET I talked about earlier.
I have stated the conditions for mass release this February so what are you waiting for instead of buying privileged chapters and giving my book all your GOLDEN TICKETS?
We worked hard last month but let's work even harder together this month, lovely readersππππ
