Chapter 99: Chapter 94: "Darling, I Think I’m Pregnant.

’Perfect. These skeletons will make for good practice.’

Sophie obligingly took the hint, leaping onto the crown of a tall tree to observe the battle from above.

Lian, man and blade alone, moved freely through the horde of skeletons.

Flashes of dazzling light flared and died out one after another.

This was the effect of the Bright Sword. Every swing produced a brilliant, sacred light that naturally suppressed malevolent things like Evil Spirits and skeletons.

Neither the towering Giant skeletons nor the diminutive smaller ones could withstand the Unrivaled Lian.

His Bright Sword was unadorned and direct. With every rise and fall of his blade, he cut down a swath of them.

A quarter of an hour later, the sixty-odd Skeleton Monsters had been completely wiped out.

Not a single Magic Crystal remained; all had been purified by the Bright Sword.

Aside from the deep gashes marring the ground, which proved they had ever been there, no other trace remained.

Lian felt a pang of regret. He’d heard that C and D Level Skeleton Monsters almost always had a Magic Crystal in their skulls.

With good luck, there could even be two or three.

’When it comes to accumulating wealth, the Bright Sword is utterly useless.’

Lian withdrew Snow Walk from the last Skeleton Monster’s body and struck a master’s pose as he sheathed his blade.

Just as the last Skeleton Monster’s body disintegrated into dust and vanished, a crisp sound reached Lian’s ears.

CRACK—

’It sounded like something broke.’

Only this time, it wasn’t a Skeleton Wizard’s head that had shattered, but Lian’s beloved Knight’s Blade.

Snow Walk... was broken.

Lian was horrified. ’Has my good luck run out?’

’It was bad enough that not a single damn Magic Crystal was left for me, but now, because I was hacking at these hardheads, Snow Walk shattered?’

’Bright Sword, you’ve failed me!’

On further reflection, Lian knew he shouldn’t blame the Bright Sword.

The smaller skeletons’ skulls were already as hard as rock, and the Giant skeletons’ were like walls of bronze. His own creation, "Snow Walk," while beautiful in appearance and made of refined iron, had only been crafted at a Blacksmith Apprentice’s skill level. It was all form and no substance. After felling dozens of Skeleton Monsters, it would have been stranger if it *hadn’t* shattered.

’If he wanted a weapon that could keep up with his strength, he’d have to ask a master smith for help.’

Of course, Lian didn’t need to ask a master anymore. He *was* a master.

He decided that once this business of grinding for Points was over, he would personally forge himself a Divine Weapon he could wield freely.

"Sophie, let’s head back."

With Snow Walk destroyed, Lian was dejected and decided to go back and rest.

Sophie descended silently from the tree and stood by Lian’s side, comforting him without a word.

The Kingfisher chirped away, seeming to gloat over his misfortune.

It couldn’t stand the sight of Lian, just as Lian couldn’t stand the sight of it.

Lian thought, ’Sooner or later, Sophie’s pampering will be the death of you. I won’t even have to lift a finger.’

The Kingfisher thought, ’Sooner or later, Master will see you for the despicable, shameless person you are. I won’t need to say a thing.’

If Lian had known the Kingfisher was this intelligent, he might have been tempted to teach it a lesson or two.

Unfortunately, he just thought it was an ordinary Kingfisher.

The kind you could see everywhere in the forest, so unpopular in Pet markets they wouldn’t even sell for a single Copper Coin.

Sophie and Lian returned to their tents, but not to Catherine’s.

To avoid awkwardness, Lian had already arranged a separate tent for Catherine. Although he slept with Catherine every night, he would occasionally return to his own tent to handle business.

’The three of them couldn’t just stay in one tent all the time, right?’

Lian didn’t think he was *that* perverted.

’Although Sophie was innocent, Catherine was magnanimous, and he himself was a total scumbag.’

’Hmm, the combination works perfectly.’

But Lian knew Catherine wasn’t truly that magnanimous.

Especially after their relationship had heated up so quickly, her magnanimity seemed more and more like a facade.

But he couldn’t blame Catherine for wearing a mask when she was with him.

It was because Catherine was so insecure. She was afraid of showing her willful side to him, afraid of being betrayed or abandoned as a result.

This side of Catherine only made Lian’s heart ache for her more.

Lian resolved to give Catherine a perfect wedding, fulfill her wish, and help her get her revenge.

The only regret was that he probably couldn’t give Catherine his complete love.

Because Lian wasn’t the kind of man who liked multiple-choice questions.

’Who could possibly refuse a pure, beautiful young woman who made your heart race, who would never leave your side, who protected you, and who was as innocent as a blank sheet of paper?’

Lian, at least, couldn’t.

’Although, Sophie hadn’t confessed her feelings either.’

SLAP—

Lian slapped his own forehead. ’Why is my head full of women? Catherine must have been a bad influence on me recently.’

’This is wartime, isn’t it? I should be focused on accumulating Points, increasing my strength, retaking the East District, and advancing into the Blue Moon Territory.’

’There wasn’t much time left.’

The cleanup of Blue Moon Territory would definitely be finished within two months. In one and a half months at most, Mary would surely bring her husband to the Lorne Jackson station in the Blue Moon Territory to announce their takeover.

When that time came, even if he entered the Blue Moon Territory with Catherine, armed with a formal letter of appointment, they would face immense obstacles.

Mary might have already forged an Inheritance Document.

So, the document wasn’t the key. The key was who entered the Blue Moon Territory first and who first gained the recognition of His Majesty the King.

Lian unfastened the broken Snow Walk from his waist and placed it on the bedside table along with his Armor.

He and Sophie said goodnight to each other, and then they each went to sleep.

Lian hadn’t dreamed in a long time.

He was always so busy, exhausted every single day. Whenever he finally had time to sleep, he would fall into a deep slumber almost instantly. Plus, after successfully advancing to become a Five-star Knight, his control over his own body was extraordinary, allowing him to achieve the highest quality of sleep.

The ample Physical Strength and mental state that a normal person needed eight hours of sleep to obtain, he could achieve in just two.

He had truly achieved "charge for 2 hours, last all day."

But today, Lian dreamed.

And he was lucid; he knew he was in a dream.

Because he was lying on an incredibly soft, large bed. The mattress on this kind of bed had an ancient name: Simmons.

And a Simmons mattress was something that absolutely would not appear in the era he was currently in.

Above his head was a familiar incandescent light bulb. On the white wall hung a wedding photograph.

The man in the suit in the photograph was clearly him, but the woman in the wedding dress was neither Catherine nor Sophie.

She was a complete stranger, but an extremely beautiful one.

She had long, dark green hair and wore a light green wedding dress. Her smile was radiant, her gaze brilliant, and even in the photograph, she possessed an indescribable, saintly aura.

’Judging by this photo, this should be a good dream.’

As Lian was thinking this, he realized someone was burrowing out from under the covers.

The woman with the long, dark green hair poked her head out, her incomparably perfect, pretty face smiling at Lian.

"Darling, I think I’m pregnant,"

the green-haired beauty said shyly.

’Lian’s first thought was that this child was absolutely not his.’

’I just started dreaming, how could there already be a child? Even if you were lying next to me naked, you couldn’t possibly put this hat on my head.’

’As expected, the green hair was a hint.’

’Looks like this isn’t such a good dream after all.’

"Darling, why don’t you name our child?"

The green-haired beauty looked up, gazing deeply at Lian.

Although she was trying her best to blend in with the surroundings, Lian found a flaw in her speech.

Because she was still speaking the language of the Otherworld, not Mandarin, which was completely out of place.

’Something has invaded my dream.’

Lian calmly reached out and, just as he expected, felt the intact Snow Walk at the head of the bed.

’Dreams are a reflection of reality. In my own dream, I definitely couldn’t be without my beloved weapon.’

Before the green-haired girl could utter her next sweet nothing, Lian mercilessly swung the Bright Sword.

With a single slash, the girl’s shadow dissolved into nothingness.
