Chapter 103: Death wish

Then Sly sauntered over to the group like he hadn’t done anything out of the ordinary.

By now he was used to the curious looks of others because of hanging out with Khaldun and his alpha buddies so he didn’t think anything of them looking at him strange.

Instructor Perry blustered, "Sly Foxx, what do you have to say for yourself?"

It was Sly’s turn to look confused as a mix of students from both classes gathered around the pair to see what the fuss was all about.

Some of the students who only did four laps were perspiring heavily, their tops were soaked, their bodies convulsed and they gasped for air while breathing heavily.

Sly had some slight sweat and he was breathing normally, looking like he could do another ten laps with ease.

"I’m not sure what you mean by that question sir," responded Sly politely.

It was another classmate who shed some perspective on the situation, "Sly, students at our level don’t normally run so fast without the aid of uhmmm... supplements. I think Instructor Perry just wants to find out if you did anything out of the ordinary before you ran today."

A lightbulb clicked in Sly’s head as understanding dawned, "Ohhh.. why didn’t Instructor Perry just say that in the first place. I had a food challenge with Cassian earlier and I guess the only thing I did unusual was eat over twenty one plates I think while he just had twenty plates of spaghetti and meatballs, making me the winner of our little bet."

Instructor Perry asked in disbelief, "the same student named Cassian that Instructor Emma just rushed to the campus hospital with a stomach upset, that same Cassian?"

"Yes sir," answered Sly, still unsure why Instructor Perry was looking at him in disbelief.

At any second, Instructor Perry looked like he was about to have a heart attack, the teacher couldn’t even hold back his stern disapproval of Sly’s actions out on the field.

"You just overate and you’re out running on the field like it’s normal behavior, do you have a death wish!" Instructor Perry couldn’t keep the harsh criticism out of his voice.

Sly Foxx sighed, "....."

He felt so confused, Instructor Emma had asked if he was fine from participating in the same food challenge as Cassian and he said he was okay, his body felt fine.

In fact, he was in better spirits after working off all that food he had eaten earlier and now he even had the muscle tone to show for it, pretty soon he would be sporting more defined abs just like Khaldun.

It seems that all those early morning sessions with Verde and late evening sessions with Khaldun were really starting to pay off and now the noticeable changes were becoming obvious.

Sly felt sorry for Cassian being sick after the food challenge but he didn’t understand if Instructor Perry was somehow implying that what happened to Cassian was his fault.

With a worried look he tried to appease Instructor Perry by saying, "I’m really fine sir, if you want I can do anything you ask to prove it sir."

Instructor Perry took Sly over to the P.E. office while he sent the rest of the students to complete their laps.

Those of his classmates that were not fit enough were still out there doing their best to complete the laps so they could avoid the wrath of Instructor Perry.

Some were practically walking at a snail’s pace on the track, while others that were more fit were clearly half running and half walking ahead of them.

Instructor Perry had a bullhorn walking behind them every step of the way.

Frightening those who had slowed down to start jogging again so Instructor Perry would stop screeching at them.

In the office they had the latest medic treatment pod that could test for drugs in the student’s system.

"Get in and lie down, it only needs a few minutes to do a full body scan," stated Instructor Perry.

Sly complied, it was nice and comfortable in the medic pod with a pleasant lavender smell.

A few minutes later the medic pod popped open by itself and Sly hopped out.

Instructor Perry held the results in his hand and all of it showed that Sly was fine, there were no irregularities.

By now all of the students had completed their laps and the little free time Sly would have got idle was used up in the medic pod.

Disappointed, Sly went outside the office and rejoined his classmates on the field.

Instructor Perry was barking out orders for the upcoming basketball matches.

Sly luckily ended up on the same team as Jack who gave him a bib with the number 7 to put on.

They were all told by Instructor Perry to head over in their teams to the gymnasium.

Inside the gymnasium was definitely a lot cooler than being outside with the hot sun.

The cold artificial lights were so bright that it would give anyone an instant headache if they stared too long at the bulbs.

Basketball wasn’t exactly one of Sly’s favorite sports to spectate but he didn’t think he would do too badly at it either.

What he lacked in power and in height, Sly made up for it in speed and his team was grateful to have Sly on it because he was the only reason they had points so far.

Sly’s speed made him very hard to chase and slippery to catch.

A lot of the omega’s in his class were more into beauty and aesthetics than playing sports.

Some didn’t want to risk getting hit by the ball and having it leave a noticeable bruise when the annual ball was around the corner.

Sly took advantage of their hesitance and scored a lot of goals over guides that were too afraid to come near the ball.

Instructor Perry seemed to finally accept that Sly wasn’t using drugs and even gave him a few praises for his tactics and skills out there on the basketball court.

He even asked if Sly would be interested in joining the basketball team that Instructor Perry was in charge of.

Sly really had no interest in sports but just to be polite he told Instructor Perry, "I’ll think about it."

Finally the sports class was officially over and Sly headed to the locker room to change.

Jack and the others had already gone ahead because Instructor Perry had held Sly back to ask him about joining the basketball club.

So Sly thought he would be the only one in the changing room.

He thought wrong.

Just as he was about to open his locker Sly was slammed face forward into the locker, the handle of the locker pressed into his chest painfully.

Victor sneered, "hey brother dearest, remember me?"
