Milf Acquisition System

Chapter 12: Bespoke Illusion

  • Next Chapter

The afternoon blurred into a surreal display of limitless wealth and suffocating control.

A quiet older man named Walton arrived at the penthouse precisely at noon.

He was a master tailor who carried a leather measuring tape like a holy relic.

Walton spent two hours pinning pulling and adjusting yards of expensive fabric against Lucas’s frame while Camilla sat on a velvet sofa and offered ruthless critiques.

Lucas stood on a small wooden pedestal in the center of the living room.

He felt like a mannequin being dressed for a high stakes theater production.

He used the downtime to mentally navigate the System interface.

He accessed the built-in web browser function the System provided and ran a search on his own name.

Victoria had promised to fix his background and she had delivered with terrifying efficiency. ℴ

The digital footprint for Lucas Vintage was flawless. His social media profiles showed a history of attending prestigious financial seminars.

An alumni registry listed him as a graduate of a top tier business school.

There was even a fake glowing article in a minor financial journal praising his discreet approach to offshore wealth management.

The coffee boy who lived in a crumbling apartment building simply did not exist anymore.

"Taper the waist a fraction more Walton," Camilla commanded while sipping a glass of sparkling water. "He has the shoulders for the jacket but I want the silhouette to look sharper. He needs to look aggressive."

"As you wish Ms. Verman," Walton murmured while inserting another silver pin near Lucas’s ribs.

Camilla set her glass down and walked over to the pedestal. She was wearing a sleek tailored business suit that matched the ruthless energy she projected.

She circled him slowly and evaluated the fit of the dark navy fabric.

"You clean up remarkably well," Camilla noted.

She reached out and adjusted his collar. Her fingers lingered against his neck.

"Tonight is going to be a test. Several of my key investors frequent the restaurant we are attending. They will be watching us. They will want to know if you are just a temporary distraction or if you are someone they need to respect."

"I can handle a few investors," Lucas said.

Camilla tilted her head and offered a challenging smile. "I hope so. If you embarrass me I will leave you to pay the bill."

The sun dipped below the skyline by the time they left the penthouse. A sleek black town car waited for them at the curb.

The ride to the restaurant was filled with a heavy and calculating silence.

Camilla sat close to him in the plush leather backseat but her attention remained focused on her phone.

She was likely checking in with her security team to see if Victoria had panicked and moved the offshore funds yet.

The vehicle pulled up to a discrete building with unmarked doors and no visible signage.

The restaurant was called The Obsidian Room.

It was an establishment where reservations were inherited rather than booked.

A stern ma?tre d’ named Cillian greeted Camilla by name and immediately escorted them to a private booth nestled in the back of the dimly lit dining room.

The atmosphere was intimate and smelled of expensive truffles and aged wine.

Lucas slid into the curved leather booth next to Camilla. The proximity was intentional.

The space was designed for couples who wanted to share whispered conversations while maintaining a clear view of the room.

He glanced at the menu and realized he did not recognize a single item.

The descriptions were written in a mixture of French and culinary jargon that made his head spin.

He mentally opened the System interface. He had five hundred points saved up from his previous survival quests.

He purchased the skill without hesitation.

The menu suddenly made perfect sense.

He understood the pairing notes of the vintage wine list and knew exactly which fork to use for the delicate seafood appetizers.

"Do not look so nervous," Camilla teased softly as she handed her menu to the waiter. "Just let me handle the talking when the board members approach."

"I am not nervous," Lucas replied smoothly. He signaled the waiter with a subtle gesture he had just downloaded into his brain. "We will start with the seared scallops and a bottle of the reserve Pinot Noir. Let it breathe for ten minutes before pouring."

Camilla raised an eyebrow in genuine surprise. She watched the waiter bow respectfully and retreat toward the kitchen.

"I thought you were just going to order a steak and try not to look out of place," Camilla admitted. She shifted closer and rested her hand gently on his thigh under the table.

It was a calculated display of affection for anyone watching but the heat of her touch sent a genuine shock through his system.

"I told you I adapt quickly," Lucas said.

He did not pull away from her touch.

He leaned in closer so his shoulder brushed against hers.

"If we are going to sell this narrative to your investors we should at least make it look like we enjoy each other’s company."

Camilla let out a soft musical laugh. "Fair enough. Tell me Lucas. How do you handle the pressure of playing a fake fiancé to a woman you barely know. This must be way more stressful than your last job."

She was probing him. She wanted to see if he would crack under the pressure of his forged identity.

Lucas used the confidence of his new skill to hold her gaze. "I like high risk investments. Working for Victoria felt stagnant. You offered me an opportunity to step out of the shadows and play a bigger game. I want the leverage."

Camilla searched his eyes for a long moment.

She was looking for the lie but Lucas was technically telling the truth.

He did want the leverage. He just needed it to survive the war between the two of them.

"Leverage is a dangerous thing to chase," Camilla whispered. Her thumb traced a slow circle against his thigh. "It has a habit of crushing the people who do not know how to hold it properly."

"I have a strong grip," Lucas countered.

The food arrived and the conversation shifted.

The tension remained but it slowly morphed from corporate hostility into something dangerously authentic.

They traded subtle remarks and shared quiet laughs.

Camilla relaxed her posture.

She stopped acting like an interrogator and more like a woman enjoying a very expensive meal with a handsome man.

A man whose life she planned to ruin by the end of the night.
