Chapter 1325: Founding Member

  • Next Chapter

Far away from the River Of Night Territory where The Sleeping Hollow had opened, in a hidden Planet within the Ecliptica Galaxy, a group of four people could be seen floating midair as they all sat on what appeared to be thrones of clouds. There was no table before them, just them and their thrones of cloud, but there was a fifth throne, although it was empty as though whoever was meant to occupy that final seat wasn’t available at the moment.

All four of them possessed the presence of an Eternal Apex, people who could destroy Lower Galaxies with a flicker of their fingers if they so wished. Yet, at this moment, all four of them were gathered on a random hidden Planet, known only to them.

The air was heavy between the four of them. Why? The owner of the fifth throne of cloud had died.

The five of them... now four, were the true rulers of The Vanishing Reapers Organization.

They had ruled and remained hidden within the Hellinder Realm for millions of years without being defeated even once, all their missions possessing a one-hundred-percent completion rate. Yet, today, one of the founders of The Vanishing Reapers had met his true end.

"How is this even possible?" one of them asked, his voice brisk and flat as though he didn’t mourn the death of a comrade.

A second stared at what happened to be a token that had been split in four places. It was a token that had been linked to their life. Being split in half meant that their body had suffered death, but their soul was still existing. Being split into four places meant both soul and body had faced true death.

"The Null Sect must have deployed an Eternal Apex," the Second with the token said with an expression carved from stone, her eyes remaining on the token in her hands.

A third shook his head as he spoke, "That is impossible. While The Sword Ruler has the chance of breaking through to the Eternal Apex rank, even with his outrageous talent, it should still take him three hundred thousand years minimum." His eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

"Besides, even if Nature’s Savant encountered an Eternal Apex there, The Sleeping Hollow should have collapsed, as it can’t withstand the power of an Eternal Apex," the Fourth stated, her leg crossed over the other.

The First turned his eyes to the Third and Fourth as he spoke, "So you are saying someone who isn’t an Eternal Apex killed Nature’s Savant?"

The idea was ridiculous and stupid on every level.

At the First’s question, the Third and Fourth didn’t answer, as they both understood how dumb it sounded. In history, nobody below the Eternal Apex realm had been able to defeat an Eternal Apex. It was an absolute rank, after all. It wasn’t something people could just cross into like how geniuses always jumped ranks to kill their enemies.

Even if a genius could physically match an Eternal Apex, the Law Personification stage was a power that couldn’t be used by anyone below it.

The Second finally lifted her eyes from the token as it vanished into her space ring, then spoke, "It seems The Null Sect must have hired an Eternal Apex for protection, and they had fought at another location which wasn’t The Ungrounded Tomb." Her voice remained calm.

The Fourth nodded at the Second’s words, as that seemed very logical and the only explanation that made sense. After all, the Asura Clan head had paid with a Genesis Grade material to kill Null Anthony. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that The Null Sect had anticipated this and had paid a Genesis Grade material to protect Null Anthony. After all, he was the only blood relative of The Sword Ruler.

"Now, that begs the question," the Third began to speak, his voice rising with a bit of killing intent, "which Eternal Apex dared to kill Nature’s Savant?"

The rest stayed silent for a moment, as they had no answer. They hadn’t investigated yet. The true death of Nature’s Savant had shocked them, so they had rushed here for a meeting.

Although they were a bunch of assassins, they didn’t always kill whoever wasn’t their target. It was a way to reduce the enemies after them. But now that a Founding Member had been killed, they had to make a move, or people might just look down on The Vanishing Reapers.

"We can always find the information we need," the First said, "and if we don’t, we can just meet The Sword Ruler and show him the difference between an Eternal Apex and a Progenitor. After all, this isn’t about a mission anymore. This is about... Revenge." The cloud seemed to rumble and quake as he said that final word.

The Fourth hummed, then said, "Should we start by killing the Null Sect’s disciples one by one? That should act as an appetizer." Her tone was indifferent to the lives of people below them.

The Third shook his head as he replied, "No, we shouldn’t." His finger drummed against the armrest of his cloud throne. "We need answers first before we make a move. After all, this won’t be the first time some Organizations have tried playing us for fools and tried to use us as a blade to wipe out another Organization and Territory." His voice was analytical.

The Fourth paused for a moment, then nodded as she added, "I guess that makes sense..."

"We should also inform others to be careful," The Second added calmly, "just in case someone is finally carrying out their revenge and it had nothing to do with the Null Sect." Her tone was suggestive.

The others nodded in agreement. They didn’t act on their emotions. Instead, they analyzed the situation from multiple angles for their answers. That was the best way to find out what truly happened instead of making things worse.

With that, the four of them nodded to themselves, then vanished as they all went to search for information.
