Chapter 1324: Can’t Comprehend
Anthony stood in silence as he burned Nature’s Savant’s corpse and soul into oblivion. He sighed the next moment as he put his hand on his waist, a smile couldn’t help but appear on his lips. Truly, The Sleeping Hollow was a dangerous place. He had met the Dark Knight who copied all his Laws, and now, he had met Nature’s Savant, who used an unknown stage of Law reserved only for Eternal Apex.
’The Upper Galaxy is really fun,’ Anthony thought to himself. ’Too bad I burned his space ring too. I would have given it to Ancestor and the Core Elders,’ he mused, then turned and walked away.
As he walked, he couldn’t help but remember what Nature’s Savant had said about the Ancestor. Anthony couldn’t help but imagine the ruckus that Nathaniel must have caused during his early days.
’Enough power to destroy a Galaxy, huh?’ Anthony thought as he walked.
At the stage they had fought, kilometers had become useless, as distance was now measured in light-years, and they could cross light-years in a second or even a split second. Not even the speed of light possessed such speed back on Earth.
’Should I go destroy a Galaxy just for the fun of it?’ he thought as his smile remained on his lips. It was a tempting idea. All it required was a single punch, and it would all crumble to dust.
Anthony shook his head as he decided not to bother with such things. He was already satisfied with the battle he had just had with the Eternal Apex. He was sure that The Vanishing Reapers organization would be losing their minds. After all, the loss of an Eternal Apex was no small matter. How many Eternal Apex could they even possibly have? Three? Five? No matter what the number was, the loss of one would affect them greatly.
Anthony couldn’t help but wonder how this organization was going to take revenge. By sending another Eternal Apex to their death? Or maybe by mobilizing two this time? After all, this matter was no longer about an assassination or a bounty placed on his head.
Anthony couldn’t help but look forward to it. When they made a move, he would happily fight them. And if he couldn’t win, well... he would run away. Although, the possibility of him losing was no different from zero. He could just use the Sense Dome’s freezing ability, freeze them for three seconds, then burn them alive during those three seconds using the Divine Flame.
’I will be looking forward to their retaliation,’ Anthony thought to himself as his body flickered and he shot towards Jerry.
At this moment, he was a couple of light-years away from his house where he had kept Jerry for his own safety. As he moved, he couldn’t help but reason that The Vanishing Reapers might start targeting The Null Sect for revenge.
Anthony shook his head and decided not to think about it too much. When he got to that bridge, he would cross it. Thinking about it now solved nothing. The current plan now was to explore The Sleeping Hollow and get as much treasure as possible.
Within a couple of seconds, he appeared at his own house. His body vanished as he appeared on the topmost floor, and there Jerry could be seen sitting on a bed, cultivating with a smug expression.
"What is so funny?" Anthony asked as his eyes fell on Jerry.
Jerry’s eyes snapped open, his eyes falling on Anthony. He hadn’t sensed Anthony, but he wasn’t exactly bothered. He didn’t know how strong Anthony was, and he didn’t bother asking any questions.
"This place is the perfect place to cultivate and breakthrough," Jerry spoke as he rose to his feet. "The Original Essence here is the purest I’ve ever seen," he added in amazement.
Anthony shook his head. Just a couple of hours ago, this guy had been attacked by an Eternal Apex. Instead of being worried about Anthony, who was putting his life on the line, he was here cultivating happily and unbothered.
"It’s a treasure I found at the Lower Galaxy. Upon my Ascension, the Energy within adapted to the Energy of the Upper Galaxy," he replied flatly.
’If he senses the Laws outside, he would lose his mind,’ Anthony mused to himself, but said nothing about it.
Jerry stared at Anthony for a moment, then nodded. After all, it wasn’t appropriate to ask anyone questions about their treasures or abilities and such.
"Did the Eternal Apex leave?" He asked as he couldn’t imagine such a possibility himself. After all, an Eternal Apex couldn’t just up and leave.
Personally, he suspected that the Dreaming Nightmare Organization had somehow snuck in an Eternal Apex to protect their geniuses. After all, all Sects, Families, and the like valued their geniuses after spending so many resources on them.
So, to him, Anthony being alive at the moment meant that Anthony had escaped. But he wondered what Anthony had been doing for the past few hours, although he assumed that Anthony might have been hiding at another place, waiting for the Eternal Apex to leave, so they could exit this Secret Realm.
"He is dead," Anthony replied flatly.
Hearing that, Jerry didn’t say anything, nor did he make any facial expressions. He simply stared into Anthony’s eyes as though asking him to take this matter seriously. Seeing Anthony not say anything else, Jerry shook his head as he spoke.
"I guess he is gone then." He heaved a sigh of relief.
Anthony stared at the boy for a moment. ’His mind can’t comprehend me killing an Eternal Apex.’
He shook his head at the thought, not trying to convince Jerry, as the man would never believe it, and him trying to convince Jerry would make him doubt him even more. Besides, he wasn’t the type who went around trying to prove something to people. He had told Jerry the truth. Whether the boy believed it or not had nothing to do with him.
"Do you know how the Dreaming Nightmare Organization sent an Eternal Apex into this place? Other Organizations have tried in the past and have all failed," Jerry asked as his eyes narrowed.
If it was possible for any faction to send an Eternal Apex inside a Secret Realm, then they could send an Eternal Apex who would wipe out the younger generation and geniuses from other Organizations and leave like nothing happened, without anyone suspecting them.
"I don’t know," Anthony replied without a change in expression.
Jerry nodded his head as he spoke, "Probably through an artifact. It’s the only explanation."
Anthony felt like laughing at the moment, but he said nothing else. He simply shook his head.
"Let’s go," he said as he placed a hand on Jerry’s shoulder. The next moment, both of them vanished.
They reappeared within the same place where they had been. The same forest stood tall, the air was still fresh, and everything else was the same. Just because Nature’s Savant had died didn’t mean that the area within The Sleeping Hollow that he had changed would collapse or anything of the sort.
Unless another Eternal Apex actively changed it back to its usual death-vibe setting, then it would remain this way.
