Su Yubing stared at the collection.

"Why do you keep buying things?"

Mo Yuxin looked at her.

"Memories."

Su Yubing’s expression softened.

"You could take pictures."

Mo Yuxin paused.

"We do not have that kind of technology here."

"Then keep buying them."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

"I will."

She put the little bell into her storage ring.

"And this one?"

Su Yubing held up the cat carving.

"That is staying on the table in our room."

"Why?"

"Because you bought it."

Mo Yuxin looked pleased.

"Then I will buy more."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Too late."

Su Yubing laughed.

Their journey slowly became a strange combination of sightseeing and avoiding problems.

On the tenth day, they reached a region called the Hundred Herb Plains.

This was the richest medicinal herb-producing region in the entire central continent.

Fields stretched for miles.

Cultivators in green robes worked among them.

Small formations protected the fields from pests and demonic beasts.

Every few kilometers, there were giant storage buildings where herbs were dried and processed.

The air smelled like medicine.

Su Yubing became interested immediately.

They spent nearly half a day walking through the market.

Mo Yuxin followed her everywhere.

Su Yubing stopped at one stall.

Mo Yuxin stopped.

Su Yubing looked at a hairpin.

Mo Yuxin bought it.

Su Yubing looked at a bracelet.

Mo Yuxin bought it.

Su Yubing looked at a small spirit fragrance bottle.

Mo Yuxin bought it.

Eventually Su Yubing grabbed Mo Yuxin’s wrist.

"Enough."

"Why?"

"Because you are going to buy everything I look at."

Mo Yuxin thought about it.

"Yes."

Su Yubing sighed.

"Then let us leave before I look at something expensive."

Mo Yuxin laughed.

They had almost left the market when a commotion started at the center of the plaza.

A young man was shouting at an elderly herb seller.

"You sold me a fake Moon Orchid!"

The old man looked frightened.

"Young master, I swear it was real."

"You think I will believe you?"

The young man raised his hand.

A group of servants stood behind him.

The old man’s granddaughter stepped forward.

"My grandfather would never cheat anyone."

The young master turned toward her.

"Do not interrupt me."

Su Yubing frowned.

Mo Yuxin sighed.

"Here we go."

She stepped forward.

"Wait."

Everyone turned.

The young master looked at her.

"Who are you?"

Mo Yuxin pointed toward the flower in his hand.

"That is a real Moon Orchid."

The young man froze.

"What?"

"The one you received is real."

The young master looked confused.

"But it did not produce the spiritual fragrance my alchemist expected."

Mo Yuxin walked closer.

"Because it was harvested too early."

Su Yubing looked at the flower.

"She is right."

The elderly seller nodded rapidly.

"I told him that."

The young master looked embarrassed.

Then angry.

"You are lying."

Mo Yuxin shook her head.

"No."

She picked up another flower from the old man’s stall.

"This is actually fake."

The old man froze.

Everyone stared.

Mo Yuxin continued calmly.

"You sold this one to him last month, didn’t you?"

The old man lowered his head.

"I..."

The market became silent.

The young master looked furious.

Then he suddenly laughed.

"So you are the thief."

Mo Yuxin looked at him.

"What?"

He pointed dramatically.

"You exposed him because you are working with him."

Su Yubing closed her eyes for a moment.

"I think his brain is broken."

Mo Yuxin nodded.

"Probably."

The young master ordered his servants to attack.

Mo Yuxin sighed.

Five seconds later, they were all sitting on the ground.

The young master looked at his captured servants.

Then at Mo Yuxin.

"You..."

Mo Yuxin handed the genuine Moon Orchid back to him.

"Take your flower and leave."

He took it.

Then he ran.

Su Yubing smiled.

"You are becoming more efficient."

"I am practicing."

"Practicing what?"

"Patience."

Su Yubing laughed.

"I have noticed."

The elderly herb seller bowed repeatedly.

Mo Yuxin waved him off.

"Be more careful next time."

They left the market.

The journey continued.

The road after Cloudstep Valley became harder in a completely different way.

The danger was no longer mainly from beasts or bandits. The central region was so busy that the road itself had become a maze of rules, toll stations, temporary sect territories, merchant checkpoints, and spiritual traffic lanes. A careless traveler could spend half a day waiting for permission to cross a bridge that technically belonged to one sect, only to discover that the land beyond the bridge was controlled by another sect and required a second fee.

Qin Lian complained about this every morning.

"This is why merchants take so long to reach Thousand Dao City," she said while looking at a line of carts stretching across a valley.

Mo Yuxin leaned against the side of the carriage and glanced at the line.

"Why not fly?"

Qin Lian looked at her.

"Flying over this region without permission can get you arrested."

"Arrested?"

"The major sects have anti-flight formations."

Mo Yuxin looked up at the sky.

There were indeed faint spiritual lines crossing above the mountains.

She stared for a few breaths.

Then she asked, "Can they really stop Nascent Soul cultivators?"

Qin Lian lowered her voice.

"Some can. Some cannot. But why take the risk?"

Mo Yuxin nodded.

That was reasonable.

They were trying to keep a low profile.

It would be somewhat counterproductive to casually fly through a restricted air zone at a speed that made the local formations explode.

So they waited.

For nearly two hours.

Su Yubing eventually rested her head against Mo Yuxin’s shoulder.

"I am bored."

"Me too."

"Do something."

Mo Yuxin looked around.

"What?"

"Entertain me."

Mo Yuxin thought seriously about it.

Then she pulled a small wooden box from her storage ring.

Su Yubing opened it.

Inside were three pieces of candied spirit fruit.

She stared at them.

"You saved these?"

"Yes."

"For when?"

"Now."

Su Yubing laughed.

"You are terrible at entertainment."

"But you are eating them."

"That is true."

Mo Yuxin smiled and fed her one.
