"You like it."

Su Yubing didn’t answer.

She walked back into the changing room with a small smile.

Mo Yuxin waited outside.

The little girl tugged on her sleeve.

"Sister Mo."

"Hmm?"

"Why do you always look at Sister Su like that?"

Mo Yuxin thought about it.

"Because she’s my wife."

The girl nodded solemnly.

"I understand."

Then she looked at the nearby jewelry shop.

"Can we go there next?"

Mo Yuxin followed her gaze.

"Yes."

Su Yubing returned moments later and found both of them already waiting by the jewelry counter.

She laughed.

"You two are impossible."

The jewelry shop turned out to sell small protective charms and ordinary ornaments. Most of the pieces were not particularly valuable to Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing, but they spent a long time looking anyway. Su Yubing liked a pair of simple silver bracelets. Mo Yuxin bought them without hesitation.

She put one around Su Yubing’s wrist herself.

Su Yubing then picked up the second.

"Give me your hand."

Mo Yuxin extended it.

Su Yubing fastened the bracelet around her wrist.

The bracelets were almost identical.

Mo Yuxin looked down at hers.

"You bought one for me."

"Yes."

"Why?"

Su Yubing raised an eyebrow.

"Because you looked at mine for a long time."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

"I like it."

"Good."

They left the shop with matching bracelets.

The bracelets had a tiny formation inside them that could send a simple sound transmission across a few hundred meters. It was meant for families who wanted to remain in contact in crowded areas. Mo Yuxin found the function amusing.

"This is useful."

Su Yubing looked at her.

"You are planning to use it even though you’re always beside me?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"In case you walk ahead."

Su Yubing laughed.

"I don’t walk ahead."

"You might."

The little girl shook her head.

"Sister Mo really is clingy."

"Yes," Su Yubing said with a smile. "Very."

Mo Yuxin did not deny it.

Later that afternoon, they visited the Prime City library.

The place was surprisingly huge. It occupied an entire building and contained records from almost every recognized sect in the Southern Continent. Since Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing were curious about the Central Continent, they spent some time looking through maps.

They learned that the Southern Continent was only one of several major regions separated by enormous seas, mountain chains and ancient spatial barriers.

The Central Continent was larger, more densely populated and home to several of the world’s greatest sects.

The Tang Sect was one of the five recognized great sects.

Its main branch in the Central Continent was older and stronger than its Southern branch by a huge margin. Yet the Southern branch was still considered an overwhelming power within this continent.

Su Yubing turned a page.

"The Central Continent really is the center of everything."

Mo Yuxin nodded.

"It seems that way."

"Do you want to go?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

Mo Yuxin looked at her.

"Because you want to see it."

Su Yubing smiled.

"And if I wanted to travel somewhere else?"

"Then I’d go there."

Su Yubing closed the book.

"You’re really easy to satisfy."

Mo Yuxin leaned closer.

"Not really."

"What else do you need?"

"You."

Su Yubing’s expression softened.

"You already have me."

"Then I’m satisfied."

They sat quietly for a moment.

The little girl had fallen asleep with her head on one of the chairs.

The library was peaceful.

The city outside was loud.

For a short while, it felt like the entire world had narrowed down to the three of them.

No danger.

No mystery.

Just a quiet afternoon.

Then the library’s bell rang.

An elderly librarian announced that a rare book had been donated to the public archive.

Several cultivators gathered.

Mo Yuxin glanced over.

The book was old and made from dark red leather.

It contained records about the history of the Tang Sword Sect’s Southern Branch.

One page mentioned that the sect had once sent seven elders to investigate an ancient spatial route near the southern sea.

Another page said the investigation had been abandoned.

Mo Yuxin smiled faintly.

Su Yubing noticed.

"Don’t."

"I wasn’t going to do anything."

"You saw the number seven and immediately became interested."

"It was coincidence."

"Good."

Mo Yuxin turned away.

The little girl woke a few minutes later.

"Are we leaving?"

"Yes."

"Where?"

"Food."

The child became fully awake.

"Okay."

That evening, they found a small restaurant in a quiet street.

The restaurant specialized in spicy river fish.

Mo Yuxin ordered one.

Then another.

Su Yubing stared at the table.

"Why did you order two?"

"The first one might not be enough."

"There are only three of us."

"The girl eats a lot."

The girl nodded seriously.

"I do."

Su Yubing laughed.

"You’re encouraging her too much."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

The meal was good.

They were halfway through the second fish when a fight broke out outside.

Someone shouted.

Several cultivators rushed past the window.

The restaurant owner looked nervous.

"Again?"

Su Yubing glanced toward the door.

"What’s happening?"

The owner sighed.

"Young disciples from the major sects. They like showing off during festival season."

Mo Yuxin continued eating.

"Then ignore them."

The owner blinked.

"You aren’t worried?"

"No."

The front door exploded inward.

A young cultivator flew through it and crashed onto the floor.

Several tables broke.

The little girl looked at the mess.

Then she looked at Mo Yuxin.

"Our fish."

Mo Yuxin looked at the broken table.

Her eyes narrowed.

Su Yubing immediately noticed.

"Don’t kill anyone."

"I wasn’t planning to."

Mo Yuxin rose.

Outside, two groups of young cultivators were fighting with swords.

They were shouting about an insult that apparently happened during the festival.

One side wore Tang Sword Sect robes.

The other wore the robes of a visiting sect.

Before the fight could escalate, Mo Yuxin walked between them.

Nobody noticed her at first.

Then one sword came toward her.

She caught it between two fingers.

The cultivator holding it froze.

"Senior?"

Mo Yuxin looked at the broken restaurant.
