All seven doors suddenly shook.

The first door opened.

Then the second.

Then the third.

Six ancient doors began opening at once.

Mo Yuxin’s expression changed.

"That was not supposed to happen."

The mysterious woman laughed.

"Of course not."

She raised one hand.

The seventh door behind her began to close.

"That is why the two of you must decide quickly."

Su Yubing’s grip tightened around Mo Yuxin’s hand.

"Decide what?"

The woman looked at her.

"Which gate you will enter."

The six open doors released six completely different spiritual auras.

One carried killing intent.

One carried endless frost.

One carried fire.

One carried ancient sword intent.

One carried the aura of reincarnation.

And the sixth carried a presence that Mo Yuxin had never felt before.

The mysterious woman smiled.

"Choose one."

Mo Yuxin looked at the six doors.

Then she looked at Su Yubing.

Su Yubing looked back.

Neither woman moved.

Because both suddenly understood the trick.

The seven gates were not asking which path they wanted.

They were asking which version of their relationship they were willing to sacrifice.

The sixth gate began to glow.

A voice came from inside it.

"Choose."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

Then she turned away from every door.

Su Yubing immediately understood and turned with her.

They began walking toward the wall.

The mysterious woman froze.

"What are you doing?"

Mo Yuxin answered casually.

"Going home."

"There is no exit."

"Then we will make one."

The woman stared.

Su Yubing laughed softly.

"You should have known better than to give her six doors."

The woman frowned.

"Why?"

Su Yubing looked at Mo Yuxin.

"She hates choosing."

Mo Yuxin nodded.

"Especially when the obvious choice is to break your formation."

The mysterious woman’s expression finally changed.

For the first time, she looked uncertain.

Mo Yuxin raised her hand.

A tiny crack appeared in the stone wall.

Then another.

Ancient formations awakened.

The six doors screamed.

The seventh door shook.

And somewhere far above them, inside the still-descending Skyfall City, the seven blue lanterns began to burn white.

The mysterious woman whispered one word.

"Impossible."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

"That word keeps following us."

Su Yubing stepped beside her.

"Let us break the wall and leave."

"Together?"

"Always."

They raised their hands at the same time.

Their spiritual energy met.

The entire underground realm trembled.

For a heartbeat, all the ancient formations went completely silent.

Then one enormous crack spread across the wall.

A strange light appeared behind it.

Not blue.

Not black.

Not white.

Something deeper.

Something that seemed to belong outside the rules of this world.

The mysterious woman’s expression changed from surprise to fear.

She took a step backward.

"Stop."

Mo Yuxin looked at her.

"Why?"

The woman swallowed.

"Because if you open that wall, they will see you."

Su Yubing frowned.

"Who?"

The mysterious woman did not answer.

Her eyes moved upward.

Toward something beyond the ceiling.

Something beyond the city.

Something beyond the Southern Continent.

Then the voice of the ancient presence echoed one final time.

"The seventh gate was never beneath the city."

The lights went out.

A deep heartbeat sounded from beyond the cracked wall.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing stood shoulder to shoulder.

Neither stepped back.

The fourth heartbeat came.

The wall began to open.

And on the other side was not another room.

It was an endless starry sky.

Something enormous moved between the stars.

Something that had been waiting for them.

Mo Yuxin’s fingers tightened around Su Yubing’s.

Su Yubing leaned closer.

"Yuxin."

"Yes?"

"Whatever that is..."

She smiled.

"We are still going to Skyfall City tomorrow, right?"

Mo Yuxin stared at the impossible sky.

Then she laughed.

"Of course."

Su Yubing nodded.

"Good."

The enormous shape between the stars opened an eye.

The eye looked directly at them.

And the first thing it said was not a threat.

It was a name.

"Yubing."

Mo Yuxin’s smile vanished.

Su Yubing went still.

The ancient eye opened wider.

Then a second voice came from somewhere behind it.

"We finally found the one who survived."

The wall broke completely.

The sky rushed toward them.

And the two women stepped forward together.

Neither knew what was waiting beyond the seventh gate.

Neither knew why the thing in the stars knew Su Yubing’s name.

And neither knew that the journey to Skyfall City had never really been a journey toward a city at all.

It had been a journey toward something that had been searching for them across countless lives.

The darkness swallowed them again.

This time, even Mo Yuxin could not tell whether she was moving forward or being pulled toward something.

But her hand remained locked with Su Yubing’s.

And that was enough.

For now.

The seventh gate closed behind them.

For several breaths, there was nothing but darkness.

Then, somewhere in the distance, a small light appeared.

Mo Yuxin opened her eyes.

She was standing on a road made of white stone.

The road stretched beneath a sky filled with unfamiliar stars.

There was no Skyfall City.

No ruined sect.

No Southern Continent.

Only the road.

Su Yubing was standing beside her.

They looked at each other.

Su Yubing slowly raised their joined hands.

"We are still together."

Mo Yuxin nodded.

"Yes."

A breeze crossed the road.

Far ahead, a city appeared.

It was larger than Skyfall City.

Much larger.

Its towers reached into the stars.

Its walls seemed to circle an entire world.

At the center was a giant gate.

Above the gate were three words.

WELCOME HOME.

Mo Yuxin stared at them.

Su Yubing did too.

Neither woman recognized the place.

Then the gate opened by itself.

Thousands of figures stood inside.

Every one of them turned toward the two travelers at the same time.

And every single figure bowed.

A voice came from inside the city.

"Welcome back, Ancestor."

Mo Yuxin looked at Su Yubing.

Su Yubing looked at Mo Yuxin.

For once, neither of them had anything clever to say.
