Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)
Chapter 292: Skyfall city 4.
"Because anyone who makes Crimson Sand Wolves run without drawing a weapon is not ordinary."
By the evening of the sixth day, they reached a large trading town.
The town was built around a spiritual transport station.
Several giant flying ships were docked above the central square.
One of them was heading directly toward Skyfall City.
Su Yubing looked up.
"That would save us time."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
They bought two tickets.
The ship was crowded.
There were hundreds of cultivators aboard.
Mo Yuxin looked at the seating arrangement.
Their seats were separated.
She stared at the attendant.
"Can we sit together?"
"The seats are assigned."
Mo Yuxin looked at Su Yubing.
Su Yubing looked amused.
"It is only a few hours."
Mo Yuxin frowned.
"No."
She turned back to the attendant.
"How much to change seats?"
The attendant named a price.
Mo Yuxin paid.
Five minutes later, they were sitting together.
Su Yubing leaned against her shoulder.
"Happy now?"
"Very."
"You could have survived three hours without holding me."
"Could I?"
"Probably."
Mo Yuxin looked doubtful.
"I would rather not test it."
The flying ship began moving.
The plains below slowly disappeared.
From the deck, the Southern Continent seemed endless.
Mountains rose in the distance.
Rivers crossed the land like silver lines.
Ancient cities appeared between the clouds.
Mo Yuxin stood behind Su Yubing, arms wrapped around her waist.
Su Yubing smiled and leaned back.
"You are going to hold me the whole trip?"
"Yes."
"What if someone sees?"
"They will know you are loved."
Su Yubing turned her head and kissed her cheek.
"Then keep holding me."
Mo Yuxin smiled.
For the next two hours, they stood together at the railing.
Then someone attacked the ship.
A loud explosion shook the deck.
Passengers screamed.
The ship tilted.
A giant black bird flew alongside them.
It was not a bird.
It was a demonic beast with black wings, red eyes, and a body nearly as large as the ship itself.
The captain shouted for everyone to prepare for battle.
Cultivators rushed onto the deck.
Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing remained where they were.
The beast attacked.
Mo Yuxin sighed.
She raised her hand.
The beast stopped.
It remained suspended beside the ship.
The entire deck went silent.
Mo Yuxin looked at it.
The beast looked back.
Su Yubing whispered, "Again?"
Mo Yuxin shrugged.
"Apparently."
The beast lowered its head.
Mo Yuxin released it.
It immediately flew away.
The passengers stared.
A young disciple whispered, "What cultivation level was that?"
Nobody answered.
The captain slowly walked toward them.
"Senior..."
Mo Yuxin said, "Please continue the trip."
The captain nodded quickly.
The ship continued.
No one attacked again.
Late that night, Skyfall City finally appeared on the horizon.
It was enormous.
Even from dozens of kilometers away, the city looked like a mountain range made of buildings.
Towering walls surrounded it.
Massive spiritual formations covered the sky above it.
Countless flying ships entered through giant gates.
Bright spiritual lights illuminated towers that rose hundreds of meters into the air.
Su Yubing stared.
"That is a city?"
Mo Yuxin nodded.
"Yes."
"It is bigger than Bluewave City."
"Much bigger."
"How many people live there?"
"Probably several million."
Su Yubing became interested.
"There should be many restaurants."
Mo Yuxin smiled.
"That is your first thought?"
"Of course."
"Then we will find the best one."
"And after that?"
"A good inn."
"And then?"
Mo Yuxin leaned closer.
"We can decide that after we close the door."
Su Yubing’s cheeks warmed.
"You really are getting shameless."
"Only with you."
The ship approached the outer gate.
Everything seemed normal.
Then the spiritual formation above the city suddenly flickered.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
The captain’s expression changed.
Every cultivator on the deck looked upward.
A deep bell rang across the city.
BOOM.
Another followed.
BOOM.
Then a third.
BOOM.
The city gates closed.
The flying ships in front of them stopped.
A huge golden formation spread across the sky.
Mo Yuxin’s expression became serious for the first time that day.
Su Yubing looked at her.
"What is it?"
Mo Yuxin narrowed her eyes.
"Someone has activated the city’s emergency formation."
A voice echoed across the entire city.
"ALL OUTSIDE VESSELS ARE TO LAND IMMEDIATELY. SKYFALL CITY IS UNDER LOCKDOWN."
The passengers began to panic.
The captain looked terrified.
Mo Yuxin looked at Su Yubing.
Su Yubing quietly moved closer.
Their hands joined.
A moment later, a second message echoed through the city.
"THE SKYFALL TREASURE VAULT HAS BEEN BREACHED."
The entire ship fell silent.
Then came the third message.
"THE THIEF HAS ENTERED THE CITY."
Mo Yuxin glanced toward the enormous walls.
Su Yubing whispered, "Bad timing."
Mo Yuxin nodded.
"Very bad timing."
The ship descended toward a sealed landing platform.
Hundreds of city guards were already waiting.
A powerful killing formation covered the entire entrance.
The passengers were ordered to disembark one by one.
Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing stood at the back.
They were not worried.
But just before they stepped off the ship, something strange happened.
A black light flashed across the city wall.
A figure appeared for only an instant.
It was impossible to see the person’s face.
But the figure turned directly toward Mo Yuxin.
Even across the enormous distance, Mo Yuxin felt a sharp pulse of spiritual energy.
Then the figure vanished.
Mo Yuxin’s eyes narrowed.
Su Yubing noticed immediately.
"You know them?"
"No."
"They recognized you."
"Yes."
"That is concerning."
"A little."
Su Yubing squeezed her hand.
"We can leave."
Mo Yuxin looked at her.
The answer was obvious.
They were not afraid of Skyfall City.
They were not afraid of the person on the wall.
But they had learned in Bluewave City that mysterious people rarely appeared for no reason.
Mo Yuxin smiled.
"We should stay."
Su Yubing smiled back.
"I thought you would say that."
They stepped off the ship.
The city guards immediately approached.
"Names. Origin. Sect affiliation. Reason for entering Skyfall City."
Mo Yuxin answered calmly.
