"You are insulting me."

"You began at three thousand."

The vendor ground his teeth.

"Five hundred."

Mo Yuxin took out five spirit stones of medium quality.

The vendor accepted.

Su Yubing quietly asked as they walked away, "Did you know what it was?"

"No."

"You still bought it."

"It looked like the kind of item that would cause trouble."

Su Yubing looked at her.

"You bought trouble for five hundred spirit stones?"

"It was a bargain."

Su Yubing smiled and linked her arm with hers.

"My wife is becoming worse."

"You married me anyway."

"That was my greatest mistake."

Mo Yuxin turned her head.

"Do you want a divorce?"

Su Yubing immediately held her arm tighter.

"No."

"Then behave."

"Yes, wife."

The last word was quiet.

Mo Yuxin’s ears turned slightly red.

Su Yubing noticed.

Of course she did.

She smiled but said nothing.

They continued into the market.

As evening came, the entire city changed. Lamps lit up along the streets. Spirit lanterns floated over the roads. Food stalls became even busier. Musicians appeared at the corners. Cultivators who had spent the day outside began returning to their inns.

The couple found a restaurant on the third floor of a tall wooden building overlooking the harbor.

The restaurant specialized in Southern Continent cuisine.

Mo Yuxin ordered half the menu.

Su Yubing stared at the dishes.

"Do you think we can finish all this?"

"Yes."

"You have never seen half of these dishes."

"That is why we must eat them."

The first dish arrived.

It was roasted sea serpent meat.

Su Yubing took one bite.

Her eyes lit up.

Mo Yuxin smiled.

"Good?"

"Very."

Mo Yuxin immediately gave her another piece.

They ate slowly, talking about their route.

They planned to stay in Bluewave City for several days. From here, they would travel south along the coast before turning inland. The Southern Continent was larger than the Eastern Continent, and its central region was controlled by several ancient sects. Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing wanted to see a few famous places and perhaps visit the legendary Nine Moon Lake.

Neither had any urgent matter.

That was the beauty of being strong enough to ignore most worldly problems.

They could walk.

After dinner they stood on the restaurant balcony.

Su Yubing leaned against Mo Yuxin’s shoulder.

"I like it here."

"The food?"

"The city."

Mo Yuxin looked at her.

"Why?"

"Because nobody knows us."

Mo Yuxin understood.

It was not that they disliked the people they knew. It was simply peaceful to be somewhere without responsibilities, without old acquaintances, without sect leaders trying to guess their intentions, without cultivators staring because of their strength.

Su Yubing turned her head.

"We should travel like this more often."

"We already do."

"Not enough."

Mo Yuxin thought for a moment.

"Then when we are bored, we travel."

"And when we are tired?"

"We stop."

"And if I want to stay in one place for a year?"

"Then we stay."

Su Yubing smiled.

"And if I want to eat every day?"

"That part is already happening."

Su Yubing laughed.

She turned and kissed Mo Yuxin’s cheek.

It was brief and gentle.

Mo Yuxin’s expression softened immediately.

"Public place."

"Nobody is watching."

Mo Yuxin looked down.

A waiter was staring through the restaurant window.

He immediately looked away.

Su Yubing laughed harder.

Later that night, they returned to the inn they had chosen near the central district.

The room was large, clean, and quiet. It had a small balcony and a simple formation to block outside noise.

Mo Yuxin closed the door.

Su Yubing removed her cloak and sat by the window.

For a while they simply rested.

Then Mo Yuxin took out the bronze token.

She placed it on the table.

The token looked ordinary.

Under normal perception, there was nothing remarkable about it.

Mo Yuxin slowly released a strand of spiritual sense.

The token responded.

A thin line of blue light emerged.

Su Yubing narrowed her eyes.

"There is a restriction."

"Yes."

"Very old."

"At least several thousand years."

The restriction pulsed once.

Then the token emitted a soft sound.

Like a distant bell beneath the sea.

Both women became quiet.

The light on the token formed a tiny symbol.

It was a wave.

Above the wave was a moon.

Below it were three vertical lines.

Su Yubing frowned.

"I have seen this symbol before."

Mo Yuxin looked at her.

"Where?"

"In a record from the Southern Continent."

"What record?"

"A travel log. It mentioned an ancient city that disappeared beneath the sea."

Mo Yuxin looked at the token again.

"Interesting."

"Very."

She reached out and placed her hand over Mo Yuxin’s.

"But we are not chasing ancient inheritances."

"I know."

"Say it."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

"We are here to travel."

"Good."

Su Yubing moved closer and rested her forehead against Mo Yuxin’s.

"Besides, every time we chase some ancient treasure, something ridiculous happens."

"That is true."

"Last time we found a hidden realm."

"Yes."

"Before that we accidentally exposed a demon king."

"He deserved it."

"And before that, the ancient sword you picked up tried to make you its master."

"That was annoying."

Su Yubing smiled.

"So no treasure hunting."

"No treasure hunting."

They put the token away.

Neither of them noticed the faint blue light that remained for another breath after the storage space closed.

The next morning, Bluewave City gave them a new reason to stay.

A notice had been posted throughout the city.

The annual Sea Trade Auction was beginning three days later.

The auction was not the largest event in the Southern Continent, but it was famous enough to attract merchants and cultivators from several nearby regions.

Rare sea herbs.

Spirit beast eggs.

Weapons.

Maps.

Ancient artifacts.

And, naturally, mysterious items pulled from the depths of the sea.

Mo Yuxin read the notice.
