Chapter 270: Bluewave city 2.

Neither had any desire to look too wealthy. They were dressed simply, with ordinary-looking robes in muted colors. The only obvious clue that they were cultivators was the calmness in their movements and the faint pressure hidden beneath their bodies.

They paid the docking fee and walked into the city.

For the first half hour, they did absolutely nothing important.

That was exactly how they liked it.

They wandered through the harbor district, looking at stalls and listening to merchants argue. They bought grilled squid on sticks. They tasted a bowl of spicy crab noodles. Su Yubing bought a small bag of dried sea flowers because the vendor claimed they could make soup more fragrant. Mo Yuxin did not believe the claim but bought them anyway because Su Yubing liked them.

They walked slowly.

No cultivation techniques were used. No divine sense swept across the streets. No powerful aura leaked from their bodies.

For once, they were simply two women on a trip.

The city had its own rhythm. Boats arrived. Boats left. Fishermen returned before sunset. Street performers gathered around fire rings and told stories about sea beasts. Children chased each other down narrow alleys. Young cultivators walked around with their swords hanging from their waists and spoke loudly about their latest adventures.

Mo Yuxin stopped in front of a storyteller.

An old man with a grey beard sat on a wooden stool, holding a fan in one hand.

"Today I will tell you about the legendary Blood Dragon Sea Cave!" he shouted.

The crowd cheered.

Mo Yuxin quietly leaned toward Su Yubing.

"There it is."

"The secret realm?"

"Yes."

The old man continued.

"Three hundred years ago, a powerful expert entered the sea and vanished! He left behind a cave containing endless treasures. Whoever finds the Blood Dragon Sea Cave will obtain a dragon blood inheritance and become invincible beneath the heavens!"

The crowd gasped.

Mo Yuxin almost laughed.

Su Yubing whispered, "The inheritance will be fake."

"Probably."

"The cave will be real."

"Maybe."

"And a group of young cultivators will find the entrance."

"Definitely."

"One of them will betray the group."

"Several of them."

Su Yubing nodded thoughtfully.

"Then one person will survive, inherit the dragon blood, and return after ten years to crush the sect that bullied him."

Mo Yuxin looked at her with approval.

"You understand the rules."

They left before the story became more complicated.

A few streets later they encountered another classic scene.

A handsome young man in expensive robes was blocking the road with several followers behind him. Across from him stood a young woman holding a medicine basket.

The young man had one hand on his sword.

"You dare reject me?"

The young woman looked annoyed.

"I already told you. I am not interested in marrying into your family."

"Do you know who I am?"

Mo Yuxin stopped walking.

Su Yubing stopped too.

They exchanged a look.

Mo Yuxin’s face became serious.

"We have encountered it."

"Encountered what?"

"The arrogant young master."

Su Yubing covered her mouth to hide a laugh.

The young master continued his speech.

"My father is the vice master of the Bluewave Merchant Alliance! In this city, nobody dares to offend my family!"

Mo Yuxin quietly said, "There is always a vice master. Never the master."

"Why?"

"Because if the master appeared, the plot would end too quickly."

Su Yubing laughed this time.

The two of them walked around the confrontation instead of getting involved. They did not need to save the girl. The city had too many people, and there were too many hidden experts. If they interfered with every little injustice, they would never reach their destination.

Besides, three minutes later, a middle-aged man rushed over from the opposite street and slapped the young master hard enough to send him into a fruit stall.

"You idiot!" the man shouted. "Did you provoke Miss Han from the Sea Medicine Pavilion?"

Mo Yuxin paused.

Su Yubing looked at her.

"See?"

"See what?"

"There is always a bigger family."

Mo Yuxin sighed.

They kept walking.

By the time the sun began to tilt west, they had reached the central market.

This part of Bluewave City was much larger than the harbor district. The streets were paved with black stone. Tall buildings surrounded the main square, and almost every shop had a glowing signboard with protective formations around it.

The market sold everything.

Spirit herbs.

Weapons.

Alchemy ingredients.

Sea beast materials.

Formation stones.

Rare fish.

Pearls.

Treasure maps.

Information.

And, naturally, mysterious broken objects that nobody could identify.

Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing stopped at one of the stalls.

A bald middle-aged man sat behind a table covered in old items. Most looked worthless. A chipped sword. A cracked bowl. Several rusty nails. Three yellow stones. An old compass. A bronze token. A wooden carving of some strange beast.

The vendor smiled.

"Two fellow daoists, you have good eyes. Everything here comes from the bottom of the sea. There are treasures among these items."

Mo Yuxin picked up a broken ring.

"How much?"

"Five hundred spirit stones."

She put it down.

"Why?"

"Because it came from an ancient shipwreck."

"It is fake."

The vendor’s smile froze.

Su Yubing looked down to hide her amusement.

Mo Yuxin picked up another item.

"This is also fake."

Another item.

"Fake."

Another.

"Real. But useless."

The vendor’s face darkened.

"How about that bronze token?"

Mo Yuxin looked at it.

She could sense nothing unusual.

That was exactly what made it interesting.

She glanced at Su Yubing.

Su Yubing picked up the token and turned it over.

"There is a formation inside it."

"I know."

"It is not a simple formation."

"I know."

The vendor’s eyes sharpened.

Mo Yuxin placed the token back.

"How much?"

The vendor hesitated.

"Three thousand spirit stones."

Mo Yuxin smiled.

"For something you clearly do not understand?"

"It may be an ancient treasure."

"Or it may be trash."

The vendor stared at her.

"Two thousand."

"One hundred."

"One thousand five hundred."

"Two hundred."

"One thousand."
