Chapter 2938. Amazing Islands Futures

Chapter 2938: 2938. Amazing Islands Futures

The two of them followed the explanation about how the control pillar worked and how the split of the man mana storage and control rune formations had been done. It was brilliant since it allowed for there to be a lot more changes to be made in the future.

This was drastically different from how the angels had managed to make their floating cities.

They had managed to do so using central mana gem and mana crystal based pillars that moved through the entire center of their floating island. Therefore, it was a huge usage of materials and also a huge usage of their focus.

From there they had layered the rune formations causing them to be impossible to repair directly. This in turn led to more and more rune formations being added to the top of those formations when repairs were needed. Eventually causing it to be unrepairable.

Right now the researchers trying to make improvements and fix the ancient floating cities would find that they were in over their heads. That was why it would take so long to get to a place where they would be able to to succeed.

It was also why there were many who were proving to create a new floating city instead. This was proof that it was possible and for some, it was a way to justify the expenses that would come to making a new floating city.

Genesis already wished to make floating cities. The floating workshops, greenhouses, and healing tents would be the first step to proving that it was necessary. Especially since they would be able to show that they were capable of having better homes for people to live in without expanding in to the wilderness in such depth.

The population would be controlled this way better in the long run as long as travel was not restricted and social classes were not created causing gaps in the people. Hence the focus on unity whenever this project was brought up. It was a wise choice of words to ensure that nothing untoward would occur.

Regardless, this process of splitting the rune formations in to other protected pieces of the stone and land used to make the greenhouse float in the sky was brilliant. The only issue that Walker saw was that there were more rune formations that needed to control the flow of mana. To him, this proved that there was a risk that could come from overloading the rune formations.

If that occurred, there would be a domino effect of rune formations breaking and materials being destroyed. Potentially leading to the island falling out of the sky. But with care and a guardian here who could manipulate the floating greenhouse, that would be avoided. Hence they were like a lighthouse keeper. They ensured a light was on, or in this case, ensured that the rune formations would not break.

When Walker finally finished hearing about this and how it worked, he realized that Remey had started to plant the sprouts too and was actually looking at a couple that had mutated slightly and had a different shade to their white leaves, being gray.

The two herbalists also had stopped to speak with her and explain the potential of changes in these delicate herbs.

"These were both exposed to a higher amount of dark mana accidentally. They were brought back from near death looking wilted and poor in health. When we saw that they came back somewhat, we were able to look in to healing them with more light mana, but their leaves are slightly slimmer now and they do not appear to be growing as well. But their appraisals still tell us that they are white leaf clover sprouts and that they are in poor health."

The explanation had the tone of voice that anyone did when they were entirely stumped by a situation. It was clear that these two herbalists were of high quality in their field. They were not some people who would just easily give up and had kept these sprouts so that they would be able to heal them and keep them a part of the project.

To many herbalists, letting a sprout perish was the same as asking them to kill off a member of their own family. They cared for the herbs that they grew because they knew how much good they did. In both nature and society. They had care and they believed that care translated through everything they did to reach many. It was a unique perspective that very many herbalists had.

’Gray mist clover

This gray mist clover was accidentally exposed to dark mana during its sprouting phase, this caused it to develop a strange affinity for water and dark mana along with light mana causing it to have a unique affinity called gray mist, a form of water affinity mixed with light and dark mana.

The unique aspects of this mist often come with illusions making this clover a producer of a mist that causes strange illusions and hallucinations. While it will never truly be harmful to those with good resistances to these manas, it is valuable to those wishing to make certain potions with similar qualities. Or as a material for making unique gear that enhances illusions.

This clover sprout is in poor health and due to that is being confused for a similar species it has originated from. It can be grown and healed using the proper amount of fifty percent light mana, twenty percent dark mana, and thirty percent water mana in its environment...’

Walker started to read off his appraisal and noticed that these two herbalists lacked the higher resistance to dark and water manas. They might develop those affinities better later in their lives but they did not need them when they focused solely on the light affinity herbs they were currently planting.

The two looked shocked to hear that a mistake caused their sprouts to change so much.

"I can’t say that every sprout would change this much accidentally, but it was lucky and entirely random that these changes happened. I would bet someone could try to achieve this for years and not do the exact same things needed to allow these sprouts to occur again. It was most likely a perfect set of coincidences one after another."

It was all too simple to say that some researchers might achieve these things such as this in their research. But realistically, it was the forces of nature that randomly brought about things like this. It was just the will to survive even from a seedling starting to grow that could come to achieve random new light like this in a field like herbalism.

"Then I will take them to people I know will care for them! Remey snatched up the sprouts and rushed off. "I know a few of Onyx’s serpents working with a water dragon right now, they will be able to help them!" she shouted as she flew off using her wings of fire. It seemed that she had decided she would be entertained well enough now.

While Walker and the two herbalists looked on the direction she had fled they could only imagine what would come of these new sprouts. Walker was also curious about when she had met these underlings of Onyx who were working to grow herbs with a water dragon.

Then again, he was happy to hear that more of the little serpents had branched out to work with the water dragons. More of Current’s water dragons working with other races was a good sign. They had all been dedicated to exploring the larger rivers and improving the waterways for traveling or fishing.

Their hard work had gone a long way so far, and was still growing better and better.

Once they had gathered their thoughts again, Walker decided he would leave too. This project didn’t need his Input. He praised their hard work and kept an ear out for the future experimental greenhouses or floating workshops.

From what he gathered someone was planning to create a small alchemy workshop and also a small blacksmith workshop version next. Simply improve that sky forging and wind alchemy techniques could work better on a floating island style workshop. It was a good idea since it was a testing period right now. Ideal for proving such theories.

He also took note that he could check in on those later as well. He wanted to hear how sky forging was moving on in the forging side of Genesis.

He’d heard that the light and wind affinity weapons and armors made were better quality for those with the dual light and wind affinities. It could spell a better forging method for specific classes and people while also keeping costs lower.

Otherwise, he found himself wondering what he should work on. It felt like time was the thing he had to wait through the most right now.

Time.
