Chapter 2937. Impressed

Chapter 2937: 2937. Impressed

The grand mapping hall had gotten enough answers from Su and Walker combined. but even more from Walker since he had been the one to remain there until Remey had shown up. So, he didn’t feel bad at all having to leave and see what the progress was on another project.

He also felt that Remey had come to get him because she was frustrated with Ignus and his responsibility more so than to actually see the progress on the project.

He was surprised that the greenhouse being worked on in the floating island and elemental dome project was for light mana. The idea fit very well with the materials that they had brought back from the elemental plane’s outer territory. It fit a little too perfectly in a way.

Then again the idea that the floating islands would be closer to the sun and allow for more forms of naturally flowing light mana to get to them was a good theory. Especially since the mana gathering rune formations that would be part of the elemental dome aspect needed to be able to gather the manas needed more easily.

This meant that light or wind mana would be ideal.

Remey was quickly heading toward the testing location and Walker was easily able to keep up. He did notice that many rune carvers were in the area too. This proved that they had been here to research some of the rune formations used.

These same runes were being used to work on the projects to properly rebuild the angel’s floating cities and create a new one. They were also being used in the flying ships made by Genesis.

The flying ships in particular were going through many advancements. Some were even being merged with the water fairing ships since having the ability to fly and float were perfect for exploration and also general harvesting of unique goods and coastal fisheries.

This wasn’t to say that there were no other uses. Some of the craftsmen in Genesis were already discussing how they might be able to build the perfect isolated workshops that they had never been able to have. Or that they could potentially build mansions with no reason to leave them but the best views in the world.

It was a lot of fancy talk that seemed to be the reason why many of these crafters had come toward the project area. They all had hope for the project results and whatever they might be able to do with the knowledge once it was proven safe to use and study a little more openly on a larger scale.

"That’s it over there." Remey looked up and Walker too saw the floating greenhouse. It was made very well with sturdy white metal strips that could resist the higher amount of light mana while the clear windows were made to gather the warmth properly.

The different glasses used all included materials that used to be used for greenhouses but through alchemic glass blowing had been made to be tougher and more accepting of mana flow. It was within itself part of the crafting process greatly changed over time.

Remey hadn’t been the person working with glass blowers but she had seen the research and growth of potions for that form of crafting. She had been impressed that someone had figured out how to better bring the beneficial aspects of materials in the potion form to add attributes to glass. Such as increasing the mana that the glass could allow to move through it without causing damage to the glass or whatever was touching it.

This was just one thing that she had in mind while looking at it.

However, the two were somewhat stricken by the smaller size. They had not realized that the greenhouse was about a quarter of the size of any on the ground. The smaller size would make it harder to work in for most herbalists while also lowering yields.

Then again, this was a test, not the final product, so they stopped their minds from focusing on this.

Instead, Walker focused in on the mana flow around the greenhouse and noticed that rune formations storing light mana were already active while two figures had stripes tied to themselves as they watched the runes carefully.

"Up we go, they are fine tuning the flow of mana through the rune formations. I would like to be inside when they activate the light elemental dome.

As they neared, they got a wave from other rune carvers. They also saw that a couple of herbalists were within the greenhouse. Neither of the four stopped them since they recognized both Walker and Remey and assumed they were here to watch first hand the progress made.

"They made those light runes simplified compared to before. They also have a few spatial runes. But it is all condensed and is made so that pieces can be removed without causing the entire formation to break. It’s very good quality and it can deal with the damage from time." nothing was forever and this was taken in to account clearly.

"They also have some herbs planted on the outside that won’t grow quickly and will attract mana too. It’s smart since those shallow light vines adore being away from the earth and grow on whatever they can attach their tendrils on." Remey saw these vines and knew that they were good to have around when making light affinity potions.

She knew that a few of the more nature focused alchemists created ideal environments to create specific potions. Some of them even created entire workshops at the center of specific elemental herb gardens. It was unique but it worked very well for their form of alchemy and herbalism.

Landing on the stones, they saw that it had been pieced together with light elemental granite, perfect for keeping the central mana crystals and mana gems within while dividing the stress on the structure.

They knew that there had to be some sort of control central mana styled crystal support. But spreading it so that it could be taken apart piece by piece but still function temporarily kept it from falling from the sky entirely. It also gave a lot more flexibility to the entire floating greenhouse that it did not have before.

Where that meant moving location to location or simply following the revolutions of the sun, it would be very useful. They also noticed that smaller rune formations to resist wind and rain had been added. The very same rune formations are being added to the roofing of homes now so that they would not break easily in storms. This was always ideal for the environments where the weather was more dramatic.

"They did a lot in a short time." The mumbling from Walker surprised Remey since she had not seen the place that the researchers were at when they last made a smaller prototype floating island.

But she knew if he was acting like this that they must have made huge advancements since he last appraised everything.

She also could tell that there was more to the stones and underneath them. Most likely rune formations that allowed the switching and sharing of certain manas and orders form the central area of the greenhouse too.

As they entered through the door, they felt the light mana at a more potent level. The two herbalists had robes that helped them resist the light mana despite them being of light affinity themselves. Just because they had the affinity did not mean that they were perfectly resistant or immune to it.

The two herbalists didn’t bother looking at them again though. They focused on the sprouts that they were planting. These herbs would grow and become the key to what they needed for their research. Even if a hero or disaster came right now, they would not halt their work. They had dedicated themselves to it and that form of devotion was truly an inspiration for many.

Besides, they were working so well that even Remey did not have a comment. Instead she looked at how the small greenhouse used the space perfectly for what was needed. Also that the central pillar had a small mapping orb and communication crystal embedded in to it.

"That is called the control pillar. The appraisal says that someone within can control it and move it based on the mapped territories within the grand mapping hall of Genesis. Linking it like that is perfect so that it never gets lost in the air or if it does lose contact it can be found. Someone had a great plan for this."

The advancement was very well seen and he knew that there was even more to look in to. He just couldn’t help but be impressed. The people of Genesis were the ones surprising him more and more lately.
