Chapter 2934. Guardian And Maps

Chapter 2934: 2934. Guardian And Maps

For the dragons, many things had changed in their society faster than they were used to.

They were a long lived race, meaning that they often took longer to change. This was the same with the elves before the party met them and spurred greater change for their people. Even now, both races had older members of their races that struggled still or even argued.

It was all to be expected, however, for the dragons, the changes were shocking to their culture.

Not only were they changing the ways that they interacted with the other races because it was the best path forward to growing their own race too.

For so many years they had been arrogant and uncaring. Sometimes even ruling over smaller villages of other races, but mostly not even bothering with them at all.

Now, they were being pushed from their own villages to meet and mix with the other races. It was easier for some compared to others. However, it also brought about a change in the dragonkin that the elder dragon directly rules and protects. So much so that they were realizing the potential that the dragonkin possessed was much higher than the dragons ever gave them credit for.

Making a change for those they ruled and how they liked them was already hard for them. The dragon race had a natural arrogance from always being an apex predator and older race. But now, they were seeing the potential of others and how quickly they could be left behind if they too did not push forward.

So, as Ignus considered these challenges for the elder dragons who had been set in their ways following their own culture, he let himself drift toward the dragons who had already adapted. Who were leading examples of the future of the fire dragons within the dragon race. Who could stand to be called an example for the entirety of the young generation of fire dragons.

"Abronne!" The growled roar was loud but it was met with an immediate growl in response. The loud flapping and distinct flames that drifted around the sky as a larger dragon appeared.

"You have always remained ready for my call. You are a dragon that has stopped fights between villages. You have even protected the nests of those who were attacked at the wrong times. You deserve the respect of most royals and you have never feared following the orders of any royal dragons. For this, I will rewards you."

Abronne had been trustworthy, and since Genesis became part of what the dragons worked toward he had been closely working with Ignus more than ever on tasks assigned. He has truly adapted to the rapid changes and growth but only struggled in one very specific aspect.

"You have struggled with your dragonkin form. You have struggled to maintain control of your natural flame armor. So guard this dungeon seed as it develops. Impart your mana to it and allow it to learn from you. As you do so, you should find you can better control your innate flame armor skill. I believe you will gain more from this than even I can expect."

Ignus looked at the dragon and the flames flickering on his dragon body. He knew the struggle that Abronne went through because of the innate skill of flame armor always being active which made it tough for him in his dragonkin and dragon form.

However, it was the very reason that he could travel to other dragon territories, he had a natural fire protection that kept him safe from other manas and kept the weaker elder dragons in line when he brought orders from the royal dragon council.

"I will follow this to the end as you wish."

"Not just follow, I want you to lead this. Protect this dungeon and protect those that come to research it. The information will not be spread until the council desires it to be shared. It is the highest responsibility right now n because this could be the start of Genesis creating its own dungeons for everyone to grow. Is that understood?"

Abronne had never been offered something like this, he bowed his head showing sincerity in his eyes. Ignus growled slightly before leaving to prepare whatever was necessary. He had a lot to do now, and he knew he chose someone that would do their best and then some.

Meanwhile, Walker and Su were calmly moving back in to Genesis toward the council building. Walker wanted to see what the grand mapping hall had become. But he also knew that Su was sticking with him because she wanted to hear what else might happen with her dungeon theories and the changes that might come about because of them.

"Do you really expect it to become a full dungeon sooner than the all around appraisal says?" Su was worried that Walker was getting too ahead of himself. Especially when it came to the fact that this dungeon should take much longer than any other project to be grown up and properly open.

"Ignus is going to put a lot more work in to it than you expect. I have a gut feeling that we will see it opening in a much smaller amount of time than what you can guess. The mana provided by the fire dragons and care will be much higher too. I would even be willing to bet that any researcher that helps will find things that we haven’t even started to guess at."

The attachment to this seemed to be growing in Su. Walker could tell that she was worrying because she wanted to see it all help Genesis sooner. But she was also focused on it because she wanted to make sure that she could see the entire projects and goals through to the end.

"He is the perfect person to worry about it. Remey will also help whether he wants her to or not." It was perfect that Su was taking the lead here and knew that she could rely on Remey to help as well. The more that she was prepared the better too since she would be the one presenting the research that they found during all this.

After a few moments of contemplation, Su realized that they had already walked halfway in to the grand mapping hall. She saw the immense progress on mapping the lands all around Genesis and even the expanded areas they were still exploring.

It seemed that there were so many adventurers embracing the new places to discover monsters, materials, and ruins. It was inspiring to know that the adventurer’s guild was doing exactly what they had been named to do. Adventure!

However, he noticed the side maps. The bits and pieces of areas listed as changing or would change.

They were not part of the world as Walker and everyone knew. They were the areas that ambassadors traveled through while speaking to other races within the elemental planes.

Cities, territories, and wilderness areas within the elemental planes that were unseen and offered incredible knowledge to be taught to those who would one day venture in to the elemental planes.

While the elemental planes would change as time went on, there was always something to be learned. Especially in the fact that the elemental planes were not a single flat surface. They were different and unique based on the flow of mana and the simple fact that as the planes shifted routes would change too.

Yet, what really halted Walker in his tracks was the mixed and messed up mapping that had come from his travels on the border of the grand elemental planes. The area outside of where they normally would go.

The mapping seemed to twist on itself, most likely due to the spatial mana there. Or the changes in elemental planes there too. Whatever it was, the mapping orbs were struggling to map it and the result was strange and odd ways mana s moved or the elemental planes developing were sealed. It could be hard to track all of it.

Where the researchers and archivists were caught though, were the changes. The things that they could never see in person but were seeing here. The slight insides of different forming elemental planes were enough to make their minds falter while trying to grasp how terrain like this could even be mapped properly.

"It seems like you will have to do a little explaining to everyone about where we went and what we did." Su started laughing as a few of those trying to make heads or tails of the mapping noticed them. She knew that Walker would be spending quite a while here and turned to leave him behind. She had some things to handle herself, but she didn’t mind letting herself enjoy this a bit.
