Marvel: Reincarnated as the Fire Goddess of Asgard

Chapter 245: On the Verge of Breaking Out

Thanos’s argument sounded like he was thinking for the sake of the entire Universe, but the solution he offered was complete nonsense.

Could wiping out half the life in the Universe really solve the resource problem? What happens when life multiplies back to its current numbers? Keep wiping out half again?

Such a brutal method would only trigger chaos across the entire Universe, and the remaining half of life would not obediently enjoy the life that followed.

Some would grow increasingly decadent from losing too much, or even give up their own lives.

Some would be filled with hatred, wanting revenge, wanting to change this outcome.

Some would be controlled by greed, desperately trying to extract more.

Sorrow, madness, war, and chaos would loom over all the remaining life, impossible to dispel.

Since he discovered that resources were insufficient, why not think of a way to create more resources?

Mavuika could not find a shred of agreement with Thanos’s argument; he only felt it was absurd.

But he did not want to debate with the opponent now. Having successively invaded Nidavellir, Asgard, and Earth, the opponent was already dancing on Asgard’s face.

As things stood, there was no possibility of a peaceful resolution.

Both sides had no choice but to fight!

Thus, Mavuika raised his hand and threw a punch. There was no charging up, no preparation, not even any superfluous movement; it was just the simplest, most direct punch, wrapped in golden-red Fire, turning into a massive pillar of Fire, rushing towards Thanos.

The temperature of the Fire was astonishingly high; the air twisted and deformed before it, and the ground was scorched into a deep trench.

That pillar of Fire was like an angry dragon, baring its fangs and brandishing its claws as it lunged at Thanos’s chest.

Thanos raised his left hand.

The Power Stone on the Infinity Gauntlet lit up, its purple light pulsing like a beating heart.

The pillar of Fire collided with the light of the stone, like waves crashing against a reef, like a gale hitting a mountain.

Purple and gold collided, resisted, and stalemated in the air, erupting with blinding light and a deafening roar.

The Impact spread outward, flipping the stone slabs on the ground and uprooting the pine trees in the courtyard.

The mages were jolted back several steps; some fell to the ground, while others used magic shields to block the Impact, their faces pale.

But Thanos stood in place, motionless.

Ebony Maw stood at Thanos’s side, the smile on his face stiffening slightly.

He had campaigned under Thanos for many years and had seen countless powerhouses, but the power of that pillar of Fire still made his heart tremble.

If that strike hadn’t been blocked by Thanos but had landed on someone else, he dared not imagine it.

Black Dwarf tightened his grip on his war hammer and let out a low, Beast-like grunt. Although he did not understand magic or energy, his instincts told him that the woman was dangerous.

Thanos looked down at his left hand; the Power Stone on the gauntlet was still emitting a faint glow.

His brows twitched slightly. He looked up at Mavuika, and the calmness in his eyes finally changed a little.

“As expected of the Asgard sun goddess.”

Thanos sighed silently in his heart; just a casual strike had such terrifying power. If he didn’t have this gauntlet and the Infinity Stones, he really might not be a match for him.

“It seems Your Highness is not prepared to part with it,” Thanos said, his tone still calm.

“Then I will have to take it myself.”

He waved his hand.

There was no command, no horn, no extra words.

But his action was like an invisible switch. Ebony Maw moved, Black Dwarf moved, and the nine Eternals moved simultaneously. They were like released Beasts, pouncing toward the Kamar-Taj mage line at the same time.

Strange’s expression changed abruptly.

“Defensive formation!”

The mages of Kamar-Taj raised their hands simultaneously, and golden magic energy surged from their palms, weaving into a huge, translucent defensive net in the sky.

That shield covered the entire Sanctuary like a golden eggshell, enveloping Kamar-Taj within it.

But in the very next second after the shield formed, the warship’s cannons shifted direction, and dozens of thick energy beams descended from the sky, bombarding the ground like a rainstorm.

The golden shield vibrated violently, showing cracks like spiderwebs. The mages gritted their teeth and persisted, sweat seeping from their foreheads.

“Hold on!” Strange shouted.

Ebony Maw and Black Dwarf did not charge at the mage line but leaped up simultaneously, flying toward Mavuika in the sky.

Ebony Maw’s hands gathered black telekinetic energy, winding toward Mavuika like tentacles. Black Dwarf’s war hammer, carrying massive kinetic energy, smashed toward Mavuika’s side.

Mavuika did not dodge. He raised his hand, and golden-red Fire condensed into a huge shield, blocking both of their attacks simultaneously.

Ebony Maw’s telekinetic tentacles burned and dissipated in the Fire, and Black Dwarf’s war hammer smashed against the shield, the shock numbing his arms, splitting the webs between his thumbs and fingers, and causing blood droplets to fall.

He did not pursue Ebony Maw or Black Dwarf, but leaped, turning into a pillar of golden Fire, rapidly ascending into the sky.

His speed grew faster and faster, and the Fire grew brighter and brighter, like a rising Sun.

Golden-red Fire exploded around his body, igniting the surrounding air and forming rings of Fire.

His hair fluttered in the Fire, no longer golden-red, but turning into neon-colored Fire, like flowing light, like a living rainbow.

Thousand Blazing Suns condensed in his hand, the Fire patterns on the blade all lit up, the Eternal Flame crystal emitted a blinding light, and the runes on the hilt lit up one by one, like stars twinkling in the night sky.

The entire sword turned into a beam of light, held in his hand.

Mavuika hovered a thousand meters in the air, overlooking the battlefield beneath his feet.

He closed his eyes, the tip of Thousand Blazing Suns pointing toward the sky.

Golden-red Fire shot out from the blade, turning into a straight beam of light that shot straight into the clouds.

That beam of light pierced through the clouds, through the atmosphere, and through the barrier of the Nine Realms, like a giant tree made of Fire, its branches and leaves spreading in all directions, covering the entire Nine Realms.

Then, the rules were triggered.

The Ode of Resurrection laws that he and Hela had spent a thousand years engraving in every corner of the Nine Realms awakened at this moment.

Golden Fire emerged from the void, enveloping everyone still fighting on the battlefield of the Nine Realms.

That feeling was like a spring breeze blowing across a wasteland, like sunlight shining into the night, like a pair of hands reaching out from the void, gently and tenderly catching everyone who was falling.

New York.

Tony had just finished off the last remaining Chitauri warrior and was leaning against an overturned car, panting.

He felt a layer of warm Fire cover his entire body. He looked down subconsciously; it wasn’t real Fire, but an invisible, warm energy that wrapped around him like sunlight.

The energy of his armor was recovering rapidly, his damaged left shoulder armor was automatically repairing itself, and the fatigue in his body receded like a tide.
