As Daniel flew through the sky, his mind raced with thoughts of how to find Carol.

Although he had confirmed that Carol was still alive, there was no way of knowing what kind of situation she was currently in.

Who knew when something might happen to her? She wasn’t on Earth anymore.

What if the aliens lost interest in her and decided to kill her?

What if the ship she was on flew into an asteroid field and exploded?

Anything was possible. No matter how he looked at it, Carol’s situation was far from safe.

The problem was that Daniel couldn’t think of any way to find her right now. Should he just fly out into space like an idiot and search blindly?

Finding one person among billions on Earth was already incredibly difficult. How was he supposed to find someone in the vastness of the universe?

There were more planets in existence than there were people on Earth!

Where would he even begin?

Unable to come up with a solution, Daniel decided to return to the dormitory first and think things through later.

There was another headache waiting for him as well.

How was he supposed to tell his parents about Carol’s disappearance?

The two of them were already getting old. Receiving news like this would be a massive shock for them. Daniel genuinely worried that they might suffer a health scare from it.

But if he didn’t tell them, he couldn’t hide it forever. Sooner or later, the truth would come out.

What a messy situation...

It didn’t take long for Daniel to fly back to the university. He landed directly on the rooftop of the dormitory building. To his surprise, T’Challa, Susan, and Tony were still there waiting for him.

"Daniel, Carol’s okay, right?" Susan asked worriedly the moment she saw him.

Daniel’s expression darkened.

"Carol is missing. I suspect she was abducted by aliens."

The three of them froze. For a moment, none of them knew what to say. Then, one after another, they stepped forward and gave him a hug.

"It’s going to be okay, Daniel," Susan said softly. "Carol will be alright."

"I don’t know..."

Daniel shook his head.

"I want to find her, but I have no direction. No clues... nothing."

"How are you so sure she was taken by aliens?" Tony asked.

Daniel proceeded to tell them everything that had happened that day, from beginning to end. After listening carefully, Tony thought for a moment before nodding.

"If things happened the way you described, then yeah... she was probably taken away."

Daniel let out a bitter laugh.

"I don’t know what to do anymore."

"I can fly. I can survive in a vacuum. I can even go without food or water for a very long time."

"I want to search the universe for Carol."

"But what I’m afraid of..."

His voice faltered.

"What I’m afraid of is that something might happen to her before I ever find her."

The words poured out uncontrollably. Even he realized he was starting to ramble.

"Don’t panic."

Susan reached out and took his hand, giving it a firm squeeze.

"We’ll figure something out together. There has to be a way to find Carol."

The others nodded.

At that moment, none of them had the luxury of processing the overwhelming amount of information they had learned today. Each of them simply stood there, frowning and trying to think of a solution.

But how? They didn’t even have a starting point.

Only a short while ago, aliens had been nothing more than a concept. They hadn’t even fully accepted the idea that extraterrestrial civilizations existed.

And now they were expected to figure out how to find aliens somewhere in the universe.

Even Tony, a genius by any standard, found himself completely out of ideas. Human technology simply wasn’t advanced enough to roam the stars.

Daniel, however, knew a little more than the other three.

At that moment, he was seriously considering whether he should break into S.H.I.E.L.D. and take the Tesseract.

Originally, he hadn’t paid much attention to the Infinity Stones. He had never been interested in collecting them.

After all, Thanos would eventually come to Earth looking for them. When that happened, Daniel could simply beat him and solve the problem once and for all.

It was simple. But now... his perspective had changed.

Maybe gathering the Infinity Stones wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Daniel’s abilities were overwhelmingly focused on direct combat.

His attack power was absurd, his durability was ridiculous, and his physical resistance was practically maxed out.

His resistance to energy-based attacks was also impressive. His health pool was enormous, and his healing factor was equally ridiculous.

Previously, he had felt no need for the Stones, as they seemed too troublesome to collect. Now, however, he realized they could greatly expand his options.

Take the Space Stone, for example. If he could understand how it worked, wouldn’t he be able to create portals?

The more he thought about it, the more practical the idea seemed. Suddenly, Daniel looked at the others.

"Do you guys know about the Tesseract?"

"Wasn’t it lost when Captain America crashed into the Arctic?" Tony asked.

Aside from T’Challa, who wasn’t American, everyone present had grown up hearing stories about Captain America.

"The Tesseract is actually the Space Stone," Daniel explained excitedly. "It can open portals. I can use it to find Carol."

Tony blinked.

"So... are we going to the Arctic to dig it out?"

"No."

Daniel shook his head.

"It should be in S.H.I.E.L.D. ’s possession right now. Let me check."

The others still had countless questions. Daniel’s gaze pierced across vast distances and locked onto S.H.I.E.L.D headquarter.

But after searching through the entire organization with his super vision, he found nothing. There was no sign of the Tesseract.

Daniel frowned and withdrew his vision.

"That’s strange. Why isn’t the Tesseract at S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"Putting aside what S.H.I.E.L.D. even is," Tony said, crossing his arms, "how do you know the Tesseract was supposed to be there in the first place?"

That question left Daniel momentarily speechless. What was he supposed to say?

’Because I’m a transmigrator and I’ve watched the movies?’

In the end, he simply replied, "I have... other sources of information."

Tony snorted.

"And how reliable are these mysterious sources of yours?"

The feeling of not knowing what was going on was making him extremely uncomfortable.

Daniel’s abilities, the aliens Daniel talked about, S.H.I.E.L.D. everything was completely unfamiliar to him.

Even the Tesseract. He knew it existed, but only because his father had mentioned it a few times.

As far as Tony knew, it was some kind of limitless energy source. Now Daniel was saying it could create portals. Everything he had learned today was shattering his understanding of reality.

Tony Stark was a playboy, but more importantly, he was a scientist and that second identity carried far more weight than most people realized.

To a scientist, the information he had encountered today was enough to drive someone insane, as none of this was scientific.

Daniel didn’t answer.

Before Tony could even finish his thought, a sudden, violent gust of wind whipped across the rooftop, kicking up a cloud of dust that forced the three to shield their eyes.

A fraction of a second later, the wind blasted backward as Daniel reappeared in the same exact spot, as if he had never moved at all.

In that single blink of an eye, Daniel had crossed the distance to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

Moving with extreme care alongside his terrifying near-light speed, he had actively suppressed his presence, blurring past guards and security sensors like a ghost.

To the human eye and even S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most advanced security cameras, he was nothing more than an invisible photon.

He slipped straight into their secure central archives room, located the classified files, and used his super speed and super brain to read and analyze the pages in an instant before rushing back.

Daniel exhaled slowly.

"I just checked their archives," he said, his voice heavy.

It hadn’t taken him long to find what he was looking for. Unfortunately, the answer only made things worse. The Tesseract had been used in a scientific project. A project known as...

Project Pegasus.

After Dr. Lawson’s death, the Tesseract had vanished without a trace.

The agents at S.H.I.E.L.D. were furious. To them, the Tesseract was a priceless treasure.

Yet somehow Lawson had managed to lose it and for that some of them practically wanted to tear her apart.

"Looks like the Tesseract really was at S.H.I.E.L.D. at one point."

Daniel’s shoulders slumped.

"But Dr. Lawson used it while developing the Light Speed Engine. After she died, the Tesseract disappeared too."

His voice was filled with disappointment, that path had just been completely cut off.

For the first time, Daniel found himself resenting Lawson, because of her, Carol had disappeared... because of her, the Tesseract had vanished as well.

Everything traced back to the same source.

"Damn it!"

Daniel cursed in frustration. Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm himself down.

There had to be another way. The Tesseract wasn’t the only Infinity Stone in existence.

There were still five others. Then suddenly, a thought struck him and his eyes widened.

"That’s right!"

The shout startled the other three.

"It isn’t the only one!"

Excitement surged through him. At that moment, Daniel knew exactly who he needed to find.

A person he had been deliberately avoiding all this time and somewhere with that person... he believed he might finally find a way to bring Carol back.
