Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Kryptonian Act

"Oh... he is truly mesmerizing."

Tivan, remarked with pure infatuation as he stared at Daniel inside the capsule.

"Help me place him in the most prominent position. I want to look at him every single moment." Tivan commanded his maid.

"Yes, Master," the maid replied, bowing deeply.

"Wipe it down every half a day. I will not tolerate a single speck of dust on it. Remember, wipe it clean. If I discover any microparticles, you know exactly what happened to my previous maid." Tivan’s voice carried immense authority.

"Yes, Master." The maid trembled, seemingly recalling something profoundly terrifying.

"I’ll bathe first. Clean him up in the meantime. I wish to continue admiring him shortly, and have some fine wine prepared for me as well."

"Yes, Master."

...

The following day.

Tivan held a wine glass in his hand, staring intently at Daniel’s sharp, chiseled features. Slowly, he noticed something was wrong. The man’s eyelids twitched slightly, as if he were about to wake up.

An ominous feeling crept into Tivan’s heart. With this brand-new addition to his collection, he didn’t seem to possess any means to handle the man if things went south.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, Daniel opened his eyes.

Daniel cracked his neck, wanting to stretch his limbs and inspect his surroundings, only to remember that he was still inside the capsule. The corners of his mouth curled upward slightly.

’I haven’t had such a comfortable sleep in a very long time.’

Looking at the Collector outside, Daniel felt even happier. ’Waking up to collect money, this is absolute bliss.’

In Daniel’s eyes, the Tivan standing before him was practically a walking stack of cash, and he had already thoroughly mapped out the script.

Daniel unleashed energy beams from his eyes, blasting open his capsule.

"Where is this place?" Daniel asked with a thoroughly solemn expression.

"Ha."

Tivan felt a bitterness he couldn’t put into words. Years of living comfortably had dulled his sense of caution; he had actually failed to realize that this collectible was still alive. The man carried such terrifying energy within him, so what was he supposed to do now?

’I certainly hope he doesn’t hold me accountable.’ Tivan prayed silently in his heart.

However, failing to realize Daniel was alive wasn’t entirely Tivan’s fault for being unobservant. Ever since Daniel underwent a transformation after being punched into the sun by Carol, he had gradually unlocked quite a few useful minor abilities.

Daniel had named this particular ability: "Good Night."

Activating this ability would plunge him into a state of "suspended animation." In this state, Daniel would fall into a deep slumber, looking entirely as if he were dead.

At the same time, his defenses would automatically deploy at full capacity, and his regenerative capabilities would be immensely heightened. Even without exposure to sunlight, his recovery could achieve limb regeneration within a short period of time.

However, Daniel had yet to encounter any weapon or organism capable of actually injuring him, so this ability was primarily utilized by him for regular sleep.

Every time he muttered "Good night." to himself, he could sleep for a full day, and upon waking up, his entire body felt exceptionally comfortable, as if he had been reborn.

"This place is... this is my home," Tivan stated, forcing a polite smile.

Daniel stared at Tivan, trying his absolute best to keep his facial expression taut and serious. Otherwise, he might genuinely burst out laughing. This sensation felt somewhat similar to when he visited Wakanda and the old King presented him with a combat suit.

"Why am I here?" Daniel suppressed his vocal cords, making his voice sound incredibly low and deep.

"My men discovered you on a deserted planet, and they delivered you to me." Tivan gestured for his maid to come over. Pouring a glass of wine, Tivan offered it to Daniel. "Would you care for a drink?"

Daniel felt like he was using every bit of self-control he had. Putting on a slightly confused expression, he looked at Tivan and spoke.

"Where am I? The Rao Star System? I remember I was in the middle of a battle with an enemy. We destroyed dozens of star systems. In the end, I was badly wounded by my opponent and fell into a coma..."

Daniel immediately spun the fabricated story he and Quill had come up with, casually giving a fake name in an attempt to deceive Tivan completely.

"The Rao Star System? I don’t recall any star system by that name," Tivan remarked, thoroughly puzzled.

"Have you heard of Krypton? That is our homeworld. We Kryptonians are currently at war with Brainiac. No, I must return immediately. My people need me." Daniel grabbed Tivan by both shoulders and hoisted him right up into the air.

"Do you know of Krypton?"

"Cough, cough."

Tivan’s face turned completely flushed from Daniel’s grip. "Put me down first."

"Apologies." Daniel released his grip, and Tivan tumbled onto the floor.

Tivan raised both hands, attempting to stabilize Daniel’s emotions. Just now, Daniel had used a tiny fraction of his strength, yet it had nearly caused him to kick the bucket.

"Please, calm yourself first." Tivan pacified. "I have lived for countless years, yet I have never once heard of Krypton or the Rao Star System. However, I can help you search for it. My influence is exceptionally vast."

"You’ve never heard of the Kryptonians and Brainiac? Those are the two most powerful empires in the entire cosmos." Daniel was gradually getting entirely into character, delivering a flawless performance.

"Doesn’t the entire universe consist of three major empires? The Kree Empire, the Skrull Empire, and the Shi’ar Empire," Tivan remarked in confusion. "Could it be that you are referring to some remote, unknown minor civilization?"

"Are you implying that I am from a minor civilization? Are you calling me a bumpkin from some backwater place?" Daniel raised his voice, his tone laced with absolute fury.

Tivan’s attitude had been far too accommodating, leaving Daniel struggling to find a reason to throw a fit. Now, the perfect opportunity had presented itself.

Thud.

Daniel stomped his foot violently. The ground instantly began to crack and shatter, causing the surrounding area within a ten-mile radius to violently shudder as if struck by a massive earthquake. He silently unleashed an ultra-miniature solar flare, instantly leveling Tivan’s grand collection room to absolute ruins.

"We Kryptonians, every single one of our people can single-handedly annihilate a civilization. We can achieve planetary destruction the moment we reach adulthood.

The truly powerful individuals among our kin can obliterate a star with a single sneeze. And you dare call us savages from an unknown place?"

The surrounding explosions forced Tivan to push himself up from the ground once more. When he lifted his head and beheld the utter devastation around him, he couldn’t even bring himself to mourn his lost treasures.

He frantically cried out, "I didn’t mean it that way."

"Hmph. Do you understand the consequences of mocking my people? The last civilization that dared to disrespect the Kryptonians has already been completely wiped out, it was a civilization that stretched across three entire galaxies." Daniel remarked ice-coldly.

Tivan cried out inwardly in despair. How did I end up running into someone like this?

"Get up." Daniel delivered a light kick to the Tivan sprawled on the ground. "Answer my initial question. Where is this place?"

"Knowhere."

"What kind of ghostly place is that? Never heard of it." Daniel continued, "Forget it. I’m hungry. Prepare food for me, it must be the absolute most delicious cuisine. If we Kryptonians cannot eat delicious food, we get exceptionally angry. And once we get angry, we can only vent our frustration by destroying planets."

"Right away. I shall have it prepared for you immediately." Tivan forced a groveling smile.

"Don’t even think about trying to deceive me. Don’t bother with your little tricks. Compared to a lesser race like yours, we Kryptonians are gods. We are omniscient and omnipotent." Daniel warned sharply.

Although he knew Tivan wasn’t an ordinary person, being an immortal old fossil who had lived for millions of years, but this wasn’t the comic books. The man merely possessed an exceptionally long lifespan. As for his actual combat prowess? It barely scraped past a five at best. His own combat power, on the other hand, was easily in the tens of billions.

Daniel was getting a bit addicted to putting on this grand act.

"I shall go prepare it for you right this instant," Tivan remarked with extreme caution, his heart thumping wildly against his chest. Hearing such a terrifying description of the Kryptonians, he had completely bought into it.

Tivan was scared absolutely stiff.
