Chapter 6532: Utter Scum
The Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s world spiritists revealed flustered looks, especially the elites gathered in the formation core below.
They knew that they were attempting to control the Netherworld Sect’s sacred item via the formation, and they didn’t think that the sacred item could communicate with the Netherworld Sect’s juniors. This would expose them.
A battle would be inevitable.
But one person in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion remained unfazed, and that was Jie Tianran.
“You fools. I don’t need to go one big round just to deal with the Netherworld Sect,” Jie Tianran said.
“We have tried many ways to awaken our sacred item, but not once has such a situation happened. You were the one channeling the formation. Shouldn’t you know better than any of us what’s going on?” Baili Xukong questioned.
“Someone is indeed trying to take control of your sacred item. That person has even tapped into your sacred item’s power to beguile your juniors, forcing them to utter such slander. That person isn’t from the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion,” Jie Tianran stated.
“What a joke. The only ones here other than our Netherworld Sect is your Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Are you saying that our sectmember has taken control of your formation?” Cang Li sneered.
“That is precisely what I’m saying.”
Jie Tianran flung his right hand, and the compass in his grasp rose into the sky. A ray of light shot out of the compass into the observation formation, locking onto Chu Feng and the juniors trapped inside the red aura barrier.
Through the observation formation, the light gushed into the Undying Starfield.
From the viewpoint of Chu Feng and the others, it looked like the light had descended out of nowhere and enveloped them.
“What is that?”
Even the relaxed Eggy rose to her feet. Her instincts told her that something bad was about to happen.
Chu Feng frowned as well, but he didn’t panic. Instead, he remarked with a sigh, “I have underestimated that old thing Jie Tianran.”
...
Cang Li had no idea what Jie Tianran was trying to do, so he further probed, “What do you mean by this?”
“The person seeking to control the sacred item is among them,” Jie Tianran declared, his voice echoing not just in the spatial realm but throughout the Undying Starfield.
The golden talisman papers floating above Jie Tianran surged toward the glowing compass, amplifying its prowess. The light enveloping Chu Feng and the others narrowed down to shroud just a single person—Chu Feng.
“Feng Chu?” Cang Li’s eyes narrowed.
Jie Tianran sneered, “Take a good look. This is the man who is trying to control your Netherworld Sect’s sacred item. Are you going to continue maligning my Seven Realms Sacred Mansion?”
“Cut the bullshit! You want to frame our Netherworld Sectmember with just a random formation?” Cang Li didn’t trust Jie Tianran, especially since the latter was accusing a sectmember who wielded immense potential.
Even Baili Xukong narrowed his eyes in skepticism.
Jie Tianran’s formation might have looked formidable, but none of them could discern if he was telling the truth. This might just be all an act.
“My means aren’t to be disputed by the likes of you. Reveal yourself!”
Jie Tianran changed his hand seal. Several talisman papers flew into the compass before flowing along with the light like a school of fish, descending from the sky. As they landed on Chu Feng, the space around him began to distort.
Even the Netherworld Sect’s veil and cloak, which boasted great concealment prowess, turned transparent.
“What’s that, Chu Feng?” Eggy asked.
“Jie Tianran’s formation is more potent than I thought. At this rate, he’s going to strip away my disguise and lock onto my bond with the sacred item. It looks like I can’t hide it anymore.”
Knowing that he would soon be revealed, Chu Feng decided to drop the act and stand up. Instead of waiting for his clothes to become transparent and appear bare naked before the crowd, he would rather preserve his dignity.
“Jie Tianran, there’s no need for this unnecessary move.”
Chu Feng waved his sleeves and took off his veil. Beneath it was no longer his altered appearance but his true face.
“Chu Feng?!”
Chen Hui, Cang Li, Jimo Qianzhou, Baili Xukong, and all Netherworld Sectmembers were horrified.
Even Jie Tianran, who had remained composed all this while, shot to his feet, and his face reflected his utmost shock. He didn’t think that the person hindering him was Chu Feng.
“Feng Chu? Chu Feng? After all that has happened, it turns out that he’s Chu Feng?” Cang Li had complicated feelings about this situation.
It was the same for Chen Hui as well. He thought that a monstrous prodigy had appeared in the Netherworld Sect, but the other party turned out to be Chu Feng.
However, he couldn’t speak to Chu Feng. He needed to draw a line between him and Chu Feng, or else he would implicate not just himself but the entire conservative faction.
Just then, a voice transmission was relayed to Chen Hui. “Brother Chen Hui, will your conservative faction dare take me in if I join you right now?”
It was from Chu Feng. He was looking at Chen Hui with a mischievous smile.
“Chu Feng! To think that I took you as my brother! As if fooling me wasn’t enough, you even want to drag me down right now?” Chen Hui replied via voice transmission.
“Brother? Did you really take me as a brother during the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s entrance examination? Or were you just curious to see me?” Chu Feng replied.
“I admit that I was curious about the man who has charmed Song Yun, but after meeting you... Forget it, it’s all in the past. What are you doing right now? Is Jie Tianran speaking the truth? Are you behind the sacred item’s backlash? Are you trying to steal our sacred item right now?” Chen Hui asked.
“What do you plan to do if I covet your Netherworld Sect’s sacred item?” Chu Feng asked.
“Then you shouldn’t blame me for turning against you.”
Chen Hui’s gaze turned cold. He endured the pain and struggled to his feet. Killing intent seeped out from him.
Uwa!
Chen Hui barely lifted himself up before falling heavily back onto the ground.
“You don’t have the strength to stop me now,” Chu Feng replied with a smile.
Now that he wielded some of the sacred item’s power, he could suppress even Heavenly God level cultivators in the vicinity, let alone Chen Hui.
While he was talking to Chen Hui, the Netherworld Sectmembers finally snapped out of their shock. They drew their weapons and encircled Chu Feng.
Similarly, the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists teleported over and joined forces to construct a sealing formation to trap Chu Feng.
Both powers already had an agenda against Chu Feng, and this matter only further worsened their ties.
But Jie Tianran continued staring at the observation formation without uttering a word.
His heart had remained as calm as still water during the sacred item’s backlash and the Netherworld Sect’s questioning, knowing that everything was under control. But when he saw Chu Feng’s face, his emotions went amok. Fury washed over him, especially when he recalled how the latter had stolen the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s legacy from him not too long ago.
Just then, Chu Feng raised his head to look at the sky, specifically where Jie Tianran was.
“What are you doing now, Jie Tianran? I infiltrated the Netherworld Sect on your behalf so that you can attain full control over the Netherworld Sect’s sacred item. Are you framing it all on me now that you can get away scot-free? You truly are a scum,” Chu Feng berated.
