Martial Arts Overlord
Chapter 1426 Xuelian's Lies
On the wide street, Luo Feng and Su Rui walked side by side.
Su Rui occasionally turned her head to scrutinize Luo Feng, her exquisite face showing a slightly dazed expression.
“Why are you looking at me?” Luo Feng couldn’t help but ask.
Su Rui crossed her arms, curled her red lips, “I’m looking to see if you’re really Luo Feng.”
These were Su Rui’s true feelings. The strength Luo Feng displayed just now completely overturned her previous understanding of him.
Mid-stage True Yuan Realm, easily defeating the Eleventh Prince, who’d reached the pinnacle of the True Yuan Realm and had practiced the Violent Dream Song—what formidable strength! Surely far from how he appeared during the New Dragon List Tournament.
Luo Feng smiled, “If I’m not myself, then who else could I be?”
Su Rui gave a playful smile, her gaze tinged with envy, as she looked at Luo Feng, “It’s been just half a year since we last met, and your strength has increased to such a level. During the New Dragon List Tournament, I thought I could surpass you in the future, but now it seems there’s no hope.”
Luo Feng was noncommittal, asking, “Su Rui, I don’t think that Eleventh Prince is someone who easily accepts loss. Staying in Out Cloud Country might be dangerous for you.”
Upon hearing this, Su Rui fell silent, then suddenly raised her head, “Luo Feng, did I make a mistake? Shouldn’t have let him go, now you too are implicated.”
Luo Feng gave a faint smile, “Whether right or wrong, you should have the answer in your heart. As for being implicated, when have I ever been afraid? Besides, helping you this time is also a way to repay a favor.”
“A favor?” Su Rui asked curiously.
Luo Feng nodded, “During the hunting tournament, if you hadn’t given me the Demon Core from the Devouring Yuan Giant Turtle, I couldn’t have killed that half-step Asura, even surviving would have been uncertain.”
“You still remember such things, I was only trying to protect myself at the time…”
Upon hearing this, Su Rui froze for a moment, then earnestly looked at Luo Feng, “Luo Feng, thank you.”
Luo Feng shook his head, “What are your plans next?”
“I came back to pay respects to my mother, then never return to Out Cloud Country. I plan to first return to Jade Hall, go into secluded cultivation. Once my strength improves, I’ll travel across different countries. My mother always said her greatest regret was not being a Martial Artist, not being able to see the world outside Out Cloud Country. I want to fulfill her wish.”
Su Rui looked toward the west where the clouds blazed red like fire, her eyes filled with longing, then she turned to Luo Feng, “How about you? Where are you planning to practice?”
Luo Feng lifted his head, musing, “I have no plans for now, but a year later, I should visit the North Sea waters.”
“North Sea waters…”
Su Rui’s eyes brightened, she softly smiled, “I hear it’s completely different from the territories of the Hundred Countries, a pure ocean world. If there’s a chance in a year, I might go there too. Perhaps we’ll meet then.”
Luo Feng chuckled, knowing his visit to the North Sea waters was not for travel.
Luo Feng worried the Eleventh Prince might harm Su Rui, so he escorted her to the gate of Cloud Brocade City.
“Luo Feng, you must also be careful of the Eleventh Prince.” Su Rui paused in her steps.
Luo Feng nodded with a smile, “Don’t worry, he can’t do anything to me. Moreover, I’ll be leaving Cloud Brocade City soon.”
“Alright, then I shall take my leave. Until we meet again.”
Su Rui gave Luo Feng one last glance, bid farewell, and ascended into the sky, disappearing quickly beyond the horizon.
Luo Feng watched Su Rui leave, raising his brow, “As expected, they came.”
Since a moment ago, he’d sensed someone following behind. The pursuer hadn’t gone after Su Rui, so they must be targeting him.
“Let’s see what tricks you have up your sleeve…”
With a cold smile, Luo Feng ignored the stalker and turned back to the city.
Entering the inner city, the presence of Xuelian grew stronger. Quickly, Luo Feng arrived in front of a magnificent mansion.
The mansion was named Filariasis Residence, a name exhibiting the style of the Dali Dynasty. In front of the vermillion gate stood guards in fiery armor, their auras indicating late-stage Spiritual Rotation Realm Martial Artists.
“This should be the place.”
Luo Feng glanced at the mansion, muttering to himself.
He felt the source blood of Xuelian within him quickening its pulse significantly. No accident, Xuelian was in this mansion.
Taking a deep breath, Luo Feng approached the gate.
“Stop! Who are you?” As soon as he got close, guards immediately blocked his path, questioning.
Luo Feng raised his head and bowed, “I’m Luo Feng from Linglong Hall of the Canglan Dynasty, please inform your master.”
“So it’s Young Master Luo Feng!”
Upon hearing this, the guards’ attitudes changed dramatically. A middle-aged guard beamed, “Master had instructed us to wait here for Young Master Luo Feng. Please follow me inside.”
“Thank you.” Luo Feng understood that the master they mentioned was Chixiao and followed him inside.
While entering the mansion, Luo Feng released his soul power to sense behind him, discovering the person tailing him had stopped momentarily, then quickly turned onto another street.
The interior of the mansion was incredibly luxurious with artificial mountains, green waters, pavilions, and towers—all lacking nothing. For ease of practicing fire series cultivation techniques, the building stones were made from Flame Rock Mineral, rich in Fire Yuan Qi, making the air dense with Fire Yuan.
Arriving at a radiant garden of colorful flowers, the middle-aged guard said, “Please wait here, Young Master Luo Feng, while I inform Master Chixiao.”
“Alright.” Luo Feng nodded.
The guard turned to leave, and Luo Feng began observing the garden.
The garden was vast, planted with various exotic flowers and plants, especially a patch of flamboyant red blossoms blooming profusely, a stretch of rosy red. As the breeze passed, it ruffled the flowers into waves like fire flickering.
Luo Feng recognized these flowers as the tier-three spirit plant, Extreme Sun Blood Flower, capable of gathering Fire Yuan Qi.
“Truly worthy of the Dali Dynasty royal family…”
Taking a deep breath, Luo Feng sighed slightly. Though Extreme Sun Blood Flowers weren’t particularly rare, such a large patch was quite valuable.
At that moment, footsteps approached, and Luo Feng turned to see Yue Haitang striding forward.
“Haitang, it’s been a while…”
Luo Feng was about to greet when Yue Haitang quickly came over and carefully inspected Luo Feng, her eyes misty with concern, asking urgently, “Luo Feng, where are you hurt? Who injured you?”
“Injured?”
Luo Feng was taken aback, shook his head, “I’m not hurt.”
“What’s the blood on you then…” Yue Haitang’s face was filled with worry and tension.
Luo Feng realized, laughing, “It’s not my blood.”
He had gotten some bloodstains during the skirmish with the Eleventh Prince and others.
“You’re lying, Xuelian already told me. You suffered severe injuries…” Yue Haitang bit her lip, stopping halfway as she recalled something, her face blushing with shame and anger, she glared toward the garden’s inner side:
“Xuelian, how dare you deceive me!”
“Hehe…”
With laughter, a tall figure entered the garden; it was Xuelian, who first gave a courtesy bow to Luo Feng, then shifted her gaze to Yue Haitang, her bright eyes smiling charmingly:
“Young Master Haitang, earlier I only said someone came, and someone was severely injured. I didn’t specify the injured person was the master, while you didn’t listen to my full explanation and rushed out. It’s your misunderstanding, how can you blame me for lying to you.”
