Martial Arts Overlord
Chapter 1425 Two Venerables, Bonds of Brotherhood
Inside a tavern at one end of the street.
Footsteps sounded as a dignified middle-aged martial artist pushed open a private room, entered with a laugh, and said:
“A tune that intoxicates like a breeze, why trouble the mortal world with worry. What a Violent Dream Song. Though it’s just a melody from the zither, it’s enough to make me recall it for three months.”
The room was simply furnished, with a landscape screen in the middle. The reflection of a woman playing the zither was faintly visible on it.
Her hand played the zither, and the lingering sound became quiet. A serene female voice then sounded in the room, “Ghost Spirit Saber, you’re late.”
The middle-aged man turned behind the screen, sat in front of the woman, and let out a hearty laugh, “Had some trivial matters on the way, but being able to witness such a spectacular confrontation and hear Qin Hou’s music, arriving late turned out to be a good thing.”
Pouring himself a drink and downing it, the middle-aged man’s tone shifted, “Qin Hou, hearing your zither earlier, I am almost losing control of my mind. Are you preparing to step into that realm?”
The woman’s gentle voice carried a hint of bitter smile, “It’s not that easy, you should know that Sealing King is not just about reaching a certain cultivation level.”
“Haha, you can deceive others but not me. With your abilities, you should’ve been able to seal the king long ago.”
“Let’s not talk about these things.”
The woman’s shadow faintly shook her head, and added, “You saw the duel earlier, right? Did you notice anything?”
“Hmm. It’s a pity that an outstanding figure like Su Shenfeng has such an incompetent offspring. Your Violent Dream Song, played by him, was simply wasting a treasure,” the middle-aged man sighed with disdain.
The serene female voice responded, “I wasn’t talking about him, but the young saber man he fought. His fist technique felt familiar to me, resembling the ‘Shaking Heaven Fist’ of the Southern Forest Tiger King.”
“The ‘Shaking Heaven Fist’ of the Southern Forest Tiger King? That’s unlikely. Shaking Heaven Fist is the technique the Tiger King created at the time of sealing king, and wouldn’t be taught easily, unless the kid is the Tiger King’s disciple. That’s even less possible, as you know, the Tiger King hasn’t taken any disciples for a thousand years.”
The middle-aged man shook his head and glanced out the window, “But then again, this kid is indeed unusual. So young and yet he can wield Saber Intent to such perfection, easily breaking the intent realm of Violent Dream Song, more impressive than some of the older generation saber men. I wonder where he learned from.”
The serene female voice teased, “What, Ghost Spirit Saber Duan Yuntian wants to take a disciple?”
“I’m carefree by myself, don’t want to mislead any disciples.”
The middle-aged man let out a bitter laugh, waved his hand, and his tone shifted, “Let’s talk business. Qin Hou, your invitation this time concerns the phenomenon at the Puppet Sect site?”
“Yes.”
The woman nodded slightly, her hand gently plucking the zither strings, a faint melody rippling through the room’s air.
“Recently, I went to the Puppet Sect site to investigate.”
“Oh? Any findings?”
“Around the rising light pillar at the Puppet Sect site, the Yuan Qi is extremely chaotic. I noticed a space rift appearing within the light column. From the space rift, I sensed a very unusual aura. I suspect the phenomenon was man-made.”
“Man-made?” The middle-aged man’s tone grew serious, “Yuan Qi is thin in the Lower Heavenly Region. To open a space rift here, few people throughout the five domains could do it. Who could it be?”
The woman gently shook her head, her serene voice sounded, “Currently, it’s just speculation. Now the space rift is continuously expanding, and the matter is very unusual, so I want you to investigate with me, to uncover the truth as soon as possible.”
“Hmm, I guessed this would be the reason you called me on the way. Then we shouldn’t delay, let’s go now.”
“Alright.”
The woman stood up, took the zither from the table.
In an instant, the room air subtly trembled, the silhouettes on the screen vanished, leaving only a steaming cup of tea as evidence that all had indeed happened.
On the street.
Bam!
Luo Feng stepped down, instantly shattering the stones in front of the Eleventh Prince, revealing a clear space.
The Eleventh Prince’s face turned pale instantly, as he saw Luo Feng approaching, ready to swing down his saber.
“Don’t kill me, Shiqi, save me! I apologize, I shouldn’t have spoken disrespectfully about your mother. Shiqi…”
Seeing Luo Feng’s stern gaze, the Eleventh Prince backed away bit by bit, desperately calling out to Su Rui for help.
Luo Feng, expressionless, swung his saber.
Swoosh!
With a chilling saber light, he cut the wall beside the Eleventh Prince in half.
“Ah!”
The Eleventh Prince let out a scream, collapsing to the ground, wanting to plead for mercy to Luo Feng but dared not.
Glancing at the Eleventh Prince, Luo Feng sheathed his saber, turned to Su Rui who walked over, and said, “Su Rui, I’ll leave him to you.”
Truth be told, with his temperament, he would kill the Eleventh Prince with a single blow, but considering he’s Su Rui’s brother, how to handle him should be left to Su Rui. Overstepping would undoubtedly leave Su Rui with the name of fratricide. Of course, if Su Rui doesn’t mind, he wouldn’t mind lending a hand.
Su Rui looked at the Eleventh Prince, her delicate brows knitted slightly, with a troubled expression. No matter what, he was still her brother, half the blood in his veins was the same as hers…
Seeing Su Rui, the Eleventh Prince grasped the last straw and quickly crawled over:
“Shiqi, save me…”
Su Rui bit her lip, suddenly raised her hand and slapped the Eleventh Prince hard across the face.
Crash!
The slap carried significant force, sending the Eleventh Prince flying four or five meters, his face soon swelling, spitting a mouthful of blood.
“That slap was for my mother! From now on, we are no longer siblings, don’t call me Shiqi anymore, I am Su Rui.”
“Yes, yes.”
The Eleventh Prince nodded repeatedly, his sole concern now was quickly getting rid of Luo Feng, as for other matters, he’d deal with them later.
He was truly afraid any wrong move would anger Luo Feng, given the fierce means from earlier, killing him would be absolute.
Su Rui glared at the Eleventh Prince and turned back to Luo Feng, “Luo Feng, let’s go.”
Luo Feng glanced at the Eleventh Prince, nodded.
It seemed Su Rui couldn’t let go of sibling ties, unable to ruthlessly become a killer, but that’s human nature, blood is thicker than water, and such connections can’t be easily severed.
“Take good care of yourself.”
With those words, Luo Feng and Su Rui turned and left.
Watching their retreating figures, the Eleventh Prince’s face was as ugly as it could be.
He had always been ashamed by Su Rui’s common blood, but now was slapped publicly by her, he could imagine the humiliation in his heart.
“Prince…”
Until Luo Feng and Su Rui disappeared from view, a frail youth finally approached cautiously to help the Eleventh Prince up. He was the Eleventh Prince’s servant, who had followed behind him, only daring to approach now upon seeing Luo Feng and Su Rui gone.
“Eleventh Prince, what are your plans, should we return to the Imperial City to heal?” The frail youth’s voice still carried some tremble.
“Heal? Without avenging this, do you think I care about healing!”
The Eleventh Prince’s face was vicious and sinister, the intense anger almost caused him to vomit blood again, thinking deeply, he said gravely, “I have some ties with the young City Lord of Cloud Brocade City, his father entered the True Yuan Realm years ago…”
Turning his gaze, the Eleventh Prince coldly said, “Let’s go, take me to the City Lord Mansion!”
