"Of course it’s a compliment when I say you’re good-tempered!" She thought back to the past, when she would tremble with fear around him every day.

’It’s so different now... I can say anything to him without worrying about making him angry.’

Nathan Fawcett chuckled. "I used to feel like life was hopeless, so why bother trying to please anyone? But now... of course, it’s because I have you. I’m afraid I’ll scare you away!"

"..." Anne Sutton glanced at the man and smiled. "Okay, you’re all dressed. Isn’t it time for you to go? Hurry up, don’t be late."

Nathan Fawcett checked the time. "I’ll get going then. You should get some more sleep."

With that, he headed downstairs.

Anne Sutton lay back on the bed and gazed at the sky outside her window. She felt a surge of happiness for Nathan Fawcett as she thought about him returning to his position.

Caleb Summers went to the company with Nathan Fawcett. When they arrived, Noah Linden was already waiting for Nathan at the entrance. "Family Head."

Unlike before, when his respect was only skin-deep, this time he called him "Family Head" with genuine sincerity.

Nathan Fawcett’s return meant that Noah no longer had to face such immense pressure at the company every day.

Nathan Fawcett looked at Noah Linden and said, "You’ve worked hard these past few days."

Noah Linden said, "It’s because I’m not capable enough. I’ve already organized all the documents about the company’s affairs and left them on the office desk for you to review. I’m truly sorry for the areas where I fell short."

With Nathan Fawcett gone, he had done his best, but even so, he felt he had still made quite a mess of things for the company.

Nathan Fawcett entered the office, accompanied by Caleb Summers and his assistant.

Noah Linden stood to the side, looking like a schoolboy who had done something wrong.

Nathan Fawcett picked up the documents and began to flip through them.

Noah Linden’s heart was pounding like a drum. "There were some things I just didn’t know how to handle. I really did my best, but..."

He had even asked Anna Linden for advice, but in this area, they were truly no match for Nathan Fawcett’s experience.

Nathan Fawcett put down the files and said to Noah Linden, "It’s alright. You’ve actually done a great job. Much better than I expected!"

"Really?" Noah Linden breathed a sigh of relief at his words of encouragement.

Nathan Fawcett nodded. "The remaining issues aren’t major. Caleb Summers is back now, so you two can handle them together. They’ll be sorted out quickly. There are no big problems."

"Welcome back!" Noah Linden said. "Ethan... no, I should call you Nathan now. I always used to think you weren’t very capable, that you were just lucky to inherit the Linden Family so easily. But only when the burden fell onto my own shoulders did I realize... you’re incredible!"

Nathan Fawcett looked at him but said nothing.

Caleb Summers, standing to the side, interjected, "Isn’t it time for the meeting?"

This would be Nathan Fawcett’s first meeting at the Linden Group.

Previously, it was always Ethan Linden who attended the meetings.

Now that he was back to take over the company, everyone naturally had to be informed.

Noah Linden led them to the conference room, which was already full. He introduced Nathan Fawcett and announced that from now on, the company would be under Nathan’s management.

In truth, everyone had heard of Nathan Fawcett.

They knew he was also Anna Linden’s son.

However, Anna Linden had divorced Arthur Fawcett years ago and was resistant to anything related to the Fawcett Family.

Seeing Nathan Fawcett there now, everyone stared. They weren’t fools. After working with Ethan Linden for so long, they could clearly see that this man *was* ’Ethan Linden’!

Someone asked, "Is his return sanctioned by Miss Linden?"

Caleb Summers, standing beside Nathan Fawcett, said, "Nathan is here at Auntie Linden’s request. From now on, all matters of the Linden Family will be managed by Nathan Fawcett."

"But... he’s clearly Ethan Linden!" ’He was obviously driven out, and now he’s back with a different identity. It’s baffling.’

At this, Caleb Summers glanced at Nathan Fawcett before addressing the room. "Ethan Linden is no longer with us. In the past, Auntie Linden couldn’t bear the thought of losing her son, so she kept this a secret. Now, the time has come to tell everyone the truth. Although Nathan Fawcett didn’t grow up in the Linden Family, he is the patriarch’s grandson. Just like Ethan Linden, he is Auntie Linden’s child. It is only right and proper that he inherits the Linden Family. Furthermore, over the past few years, he has proven through his own capabilities that he can manage the Linden Group exceptionally well. If any of you have objections, you may take them up with Auntie Linden. She will explain it to you."

Everyone looked at Nathan Fawcett. Since he was the same person as the ’Ethan Linden’ they knew, there was nothing more to be said.

He had simply changed his identity and his name.

Everyone chorused, "Since this is Miss Linden’s wish, so be it! Welcome back, President Fawcett!"

They had been driven half-mad by Noah Linden’s management recently.

Seeing Nathan Fawcett return, they felt like their leader—their backbone—was back, so of course they welcomed him.

He was Anna Linden’s child; his surname didn’t matter to them.

They had considered it important before, but only because Anna Linden’s own resistance toward Nathan Fawcett had made them think there was an opportunity to exploit.

Now that Anna Linden herself no longer had any objections, everyone naturally accepted the situation.

...

During the meeting, Nathan Fawcett reassigned duties and delegated tasks. For him, handling the affairs of the Linden Group was something he did with effortless ease.

Standing to the side, Noah Linden watched him efficiently and decisively handle the very tasks that had left him feeling utterly exhausted every day. He couldn’t help but admire him.

Just then, his phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID, saw it was Ryan Linden, and stepped out of the room to answer it.

Ryan Linden’s shocked voice came through the phone. "That bastard, Nathan Fawcett, is he really back at the company? Aunt let him come back?"

Noah Linden replied, "Ryan, he’s Aunt’s son too. He’s not a bastard."

"Why are you defending him?" Ryan Linden demanded. "Are you a fucking idiot? You finally got the inheritance rights, how could you just hand the company back to him? Do you have any idea how rare an opportunity that was?"

Noah Linden said, "I just feel that I’m not capable of managing the company well. I’ve only caused more trouble for it. Nathan Fawcett is a better fit than any of us."

"Bullshit!" Ryan Linden was losing his mind. "What’s so difficult about any of that? If you didn’t know what to do, why didn’t you ask me? If you couldn’t handle it, you should have given the opportunity to me! At least that’s better than giving it to an outsider with a different surname!"

"Whatever his last name is, he’s Aunt’s only child now. Ethan Linden is gone. Nathan is her only son. And the company’s affairs are not nearly as easy as you think."

’It’s not like he didn’t know what Ryan Linden was capable of.’

’A classic case of ambition outweighing ability.’

’Ryan Linden’s ability to handle things couldn’t even compare to his own, let alone Nathan Fawcett’s.’

’He was just so consumed by his hatred for Nathan Fawcett that he couldn’t stand to see him gain anything.’

Ryan Linden spat, "You’re useless! Noah Linden, you’re a fucking waste of space!"

Hearing Ryan curse him out, Noah Linden hung up.

’Handing the company to Nathan Fawcett would only make it prosper. If it were given to Ryan Linden, he’d probably squander the entire family fortune.’

After the meeting ended, Nathan Fawcett walked out of the conference room with Noah Linden trailing him. "Oh, President Fawcett, there’s one more thing. You need to be careful."
