Manaless Mage

Chapter 149 Wes Silas[1]

‘I won’t lose to you Harry… I will make sure of it.’ Susan thought, before walking out of the stage.

Meanwhile, among the audience, the eyes of a certain black haired student lingered on Harry for a few seconds before the sides of his lips curved into a slight smile.

‘I was right! He really was strong!’ Nathan thought, his handsome face beaming with excitement.

He had a gift—it more like an intuition, but he liked referring to the skill as a gift, that allowed him know when he was beside someone strong or someone with potential to be.

From the first time he met Harry, there was just this weird feeling at the back of his head, that just allowed him to know that Harry was hiding his full strength.

Even though Harry looked so simple… and so weak, something deep down inside him just told him Harry was not as weak as he appeared. 𝘯𝑜𝘷𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝘮

What made him so sure of this was the slight sense of danger he felt when they first met.

And now, seeing as Harry had gotten stronger, he was more excited to face him. He knew better than anyone that the brown haired boy didn’t just knock Ria out by chance or luck, but by his sheer strength and proper utilization of it.

He wasn’t just the only one with eyes on Harry among the audience, the rest of the elite students who watched the team competition also had their focus on Harry.

Most of them were annoyed at the unexpected result of the fight, they felt that what happened was a stain on their reputation as elite students.

They blamed Ria in their minds, first for losing against a stage one Elementalist, and second for bringing shame unto the name of the elite students.

Seeing how the students were cheering and chanting Harry’s name, made them feel very annoyed and even though no one said it out loud, they knew that Harry’s actions had lit up a fire in the heart of the Elementalists who were watching the competition.

Some of the regular students probably felt that they had a chance against elite students, now that they saw Harry knock one out with one hit, and the arrogance of some of the top students didn’t make them feel very happy about it.

However, while they didn’t feel very happy with Ria’s loss, they were also quite wary about Harry.

None of them wanted to admit it, but they were all wary of his strength and elemental power. His physical abilities, especially his speed were no joke, and he could definitely pose a problem to them.

Apart from his physical abilities, there was also his high elemental power which was quite unnatural for a stage one Elementalist.

When he dashed towards Ria, they could barely follow his speed and his figure only seemed like blurs.

After a few minutes, the cheers and noise in the hall finally died down and Harry and the rest of his teammates returned back to their seats.

A slight smile appeared on Harry’s face as he stared at the amount of stat points an skill points he now had.

Despite sitting calmly, there were still a lot of eyes looking towards his direction. Harry ignored them as usual, focusing only on the stage at the center.

He noticed that Susan seemed a bit odd since they won the competition. She was a lot more quiet, and the expression on her face was rather strange.

Harry didn’t comment on it, despite finding her behavior strange; he felt like it wasn’t his business.

Within a few minutes, the next set of teams stepped onto the stage.

The fight between the two teams was tough, but with luck and also skill, one of the finally managed to win.

After that, a couple of other teams came out on the stage to participate, however, none of them caused as much uproar among the audience as Harry’s team did.

While they were all interesting to watch in their own aspects, they paled in comparison to the match between Team 16 and Team 4.

Even now, people were still talking about it, and their main subject of discussion was of course Harry.

Harry’s brows squinted slightly as he stared at the students leaving the stage. while their match was quite interesting, he still found it quite boring, especially since the outcome was predictable.

Just then, another set of names appeared on the huge yellow holographic board at the top of the hall.

Harry’s eyes squinted slightly, as one of the names on the list caught his attention.

‘Wes Silas…’ Harry mumbled inwardly. The reason that name caught his attention was because Wes was also one of the elite students, and his academy rank wasn’t low in any way, being one of the top 10.

He was one of the popular top Elementalists in the academy, and even someone like Harry who never bothered to learn about the elite students had heard about him a lot.

Harry also recalled that Trent once complained about him during the last year holidays, talking about how annoying he was.

Wes was the one who defeated Trent in the previous ranking event, knocking him out of the competition, and also securing the ninth position.

From what Harry knew, it was a tough fight, and Wes only won because he was able to last longer than Trent. Trent’s mana ran out towards the end of the fight, and Wes was able to emerge as the winner.

Back then, Trent was still a middle stage two Elementalist, and his elemental power were a lot weaker than they were presently.

It wasn’t that Trent told him any of this directly; they weren’t close to that point, but he over-heard when Trent was ranting about it to himself.

He could never forget that even if he wanted to, because the next few weeks after that day were hell for him, since Trent transferred all the aggression from the loss on him.

It was safe to say those weeks were the worst for him.

The teams facing each other were Team 28 and Team 32, with Wes being the leader of the former and the latter being led by a regular student.

Within a few seconds, the participants spread themselves out across the stage, each team taking their respective positions.

Wes team stayed at the red domain, while the other team, took position at the green domain.

Standing in front of Team 28 was an average height boy with blonde spiky hair, and dark blue eyes, his face was quite handsome and his lips were curled into a sinister smile.

The leader of Team 32 was a slender girl with long, purple hair and black eyes. Her face was also quite beautiful, and it complemented her slender body very well.

However, despite how pretty she was, her beauty still couldn’t compare to Susan’s.

Harry’s eyes focused on the blonde haired boy standing in the red domain, and a weird glint flashed through his eyes.
