Manaless Mage

Chapter 146 Shocking Power[2]

‘No matter how high your talent may be, you’re only a stage one Elementalist! Don’t dare look down on me!’ She exclaimed inwardly, and flames bursted from her hands.

Harry blitzed through the stage, leaving a trail of lightning and rapidly closing in on Ria.

His speed was so fast that to most of the students within the audience, he seemed like a blur. All they could see was lightning moving around the stage, and none of them could make out neither Harry’s face nor figure.

“Wind Blade.” He said and then pulled his hands backwards. Almost immediately, a thin blade made purely of air in front of his palms.

During the last two weeks, [Wind Blade] had leveled up. The skill’s current level was level 4, and its power had risen to a whole new height.

While the blade’s length had only increased a little, its sharpness and the amount of compressed air(wind) contained within it had definitely increased by leaks.

Without wasting anytime, Harry immediately launched the wind blade towards Ria.

Whoosh!

The blade sliced through the air at astonishing speed, rapidly closing in on the elite student.

Seeing how fast the wind blade was closing in on her, Ria couldn’t help but grit her teeth in annoyance.

‘Fast!’ She thought as her eyes widened in shock. The speed of the attack was so fast that she could barely follow it.

Without anybody telling her, she already knew that she couldn’t dodge that attack, so she instinctively tried to block or deflect the blade.

The flames around her hands suddenly burned brighter, before rapidly condensing into a thick blazing glove made purely of fire.

“Fire gloves!” She shouted. The fire gloves encased her hands tightly, and even though they were burning with fire, it didn’t seem like Ria was hurting in the least.

Just as the blade was about to close in on her, she shifted her weight to the side slightly, and used the power of the glove smack the wind blade at the side, managing to deflect it to another direction.

The blade continued flying in the air, before dispersing after a few seconds. It was just sheer luck that it didn’t hit her teammates standing behind her.

However, just as she deflected the attack, Harry closed in on her.

Using the speed boost gained from the activation of lightning dash, he moved to the side a little, his movements so fast, that Ria couldn’t follow.

“Rock Fist.” He muttered, while pulling his right hand backwards for a punch. Following the skill’s activation, his rights hands hardened visibly, taking on a thick, dark brown colour and turning into hard rock.

‘She managed to deflect that wind blade, just what I expected from an elite student.’ Harry thought.

Using his hardened right hand, Harry then launched a punch towards Ria’s abdomen.

Since [Lightning Dash] was still activated, Harry’s speed and agility had more than doubled, so Ria couldn’t follow his speed in the slightest.

Thwack!

The fist collided against her abdomen with full force, and Ria’s back arched to the back as the literal wind was knocked out of her.

The punch was so heavy, and coupled with the speed-boost from [Lightning Dash], Ria found herself struggling to stay conscious.

She gritted her teeth in pain and immediately tried to cast an enhancing spell to keep up the fight, but her eyes widened when she noticed that her mana was suddenly unstable.

However, what surprised her the most was that… for some reason, her mana had dropped. Though the spell she casted few seconds ago had also taken some of her mana, it didn’t seem to be the cause of the sudden drop in her mana levels. .𝒄𝒐𝒎

Due to this sudden mana reduction, the elemental mana flowing within her became unstable, and she couldn’t properly cast a new spell.

Coupled with the stinging pain assaulting her from her abdomen, she couldn’t hold it anymore and eventually lost consciousness.

As for Harry, a slight smile appeared on his face as he stared at the set of notifications flashing through his eyes.

Back then, when he punched Ria, he simultaneously activated [Mana steal] and used that opportunity to steal some of her mana.

That was why Ria’s mana levels suddenly dropped and became unstable, to the point where she wasn’t able to cast a new spell.

This was an idea he got while training in the mana beast forest. Since approaching Elementalists in the academy directly, and absorbing their mana could be quite risky for him, he decided to steal their mana while they were fighting.

During that spur of the moment, the Elementalist wouldn’t be too bothered about monitoring the mana flowing within their body, and Harry could sneakily activate [Mana Steal] while fighting them and steal their mana.

Not only would this bring him a good a kind of Exp, but it would also make his opponents’ mana unstable, rendering the Elementalist incapable of casting a spell for a few seconds and even canceling their spell.

Even though their mana would only be unstable for a few seconds, those few seconds were enough to give Harry an edge over his opponents.

Elementalists were about eighty percent weaker without their ability to cast spells, their physical abilities weren’t as impressive as combat mages and since he could render their elemental mana useless for only a few seconds, Harry was practically a walking omen for Elementalists.

No matter how he viewed it, it was something that benefited him greatly and he couldn’t help but wonder how he hadn’t thought of it before.

The whole hall was engulfed in silence the moment Ria’s figure dropped to the ground unconscious.

There was only one word that came to their minds as they stared at the scene in front of them—impossible!

Even Susan and the rest of the Elementalist standing on the stage stared at the scene with wide eyes.

Not only did they just watch Harry take down a top 15 elite student, but they watch him do it in just two moves!

Even the instructors who witnessed the scene were greatly shocked, and the commentator didn’t even know what to say.

A late stage one Elementalist defeating a stage two Elementalist?! And more so an Elite student, it was something that was unheard of!!

The last two members of Ria’s team stared at their leaders figure as she laid unconscious on the ground, with their eyes widened in shock and surprise.

While they hadn’t been a hundred percent sure of their victory, their expectations were that Ria would be taken out by Susan, and not by a stage one Elementalist.

When Harry was busy fighting Ria, they couldn’t even follow his movements in the slightest. He was too fast and all they could see were lightning blurs around the stage.

It was as if one moment, Harry casted the spell “Lightning Dash”, then the next, he had knocked out their leader.

While they were busy standing in shock, two light arrows suddenly flew towards them at lightning speed, piercing their knee.

They grunted in pain as they fell to the ground, with their knee bleeding from the arrow.

Standing behind Lin and Jon was Susan, with one of her hands outstretched and her eyes twitching repeatedly in annoyance.
