Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress
Chapter 348 Ch 348: Comprehension
After learning about this grand scale, instead of becoming worried, all the ladies showed just one emotion and it was happiness.
Even though Weiss was not really able to show it on her cold and expressionless face, but from her behaviour it was very clear that she was also feeling happy.
How could the ladies not be happy ? The main worry that a long living being was going to have was about their loved ones dying and them being all alone.
But for all three of the ladies here, that was not a worry. All three of them were determined to live this long life together and enjoy themselves in each other's company. So no one among them was going to feel alone.
Instead, they would get a very long time to do their research, have fun and do whatever they wished. And the longer time Weiss had to make her preparations, the more confident she would be about achieving her goals, no matter how hard those goals were.
Seeing this and understanding what these three ladies were thinking about, Karina's desire to join their group as a fellow friend became even stronger. For the first time in her life, she started to feel an intense drive.
But it was not something she could do right away. Instead, Karina decided to take her time. So first, she decided to continue telling her friends about talents that were useful for a magus.
...
Now that Karina was done explaining the main talent measuring means which was the elemental affinity, next she decided to tell them about a means that was not measured in most cases but had a great impact in someone's path as a magus.
This very special thing in question was the comprehension ability of a person or basically intelligence. This was something hard to measure and different people had different kind of intelligent.
To make the ladies to properly understand this, Karina once again used herself as the example. She was going to be honest with them and tell these new friends how dumb she was actually was.
According to Karina, she had a very easy time understanding the information given to her that she needed in order to make a breakthrough.
But when she needed to utilise this information to accomplish some kind of task, her mind would immediately go blank and she always had a very hard time in doing this.
The same way, Karina was quite good at understanding the runes which were the building blocks of any spell. But even though she understood the runes individually, when she needed to combine them into making a magic diagram or a magic formation, she always had a super hard time.
Karina's comprehension was not low by any means. She was very good in some matters. But in some other fields, she was absolutely terrible. And this was true for most people.
But having a high comprehension was extremely important. Only someone with high comprehension would be able to create original spells. And those kind of people were also capable of learning and modifying the spells faster.
In the world of the magi, spells were everything. So someone capable of creating powerful spells was treated extremely well by the system of the magus itself.
This was the reason why there were a lot of people who believed that comprehension was more important than even elemental affinity. Specially for the higher rank individuals, Karina was very sure that comprehension played a bigger role in their growth compared to elemental affinity.
...
As soon as Elise and Sakura heard this, both of them immediately looked at Weiss. Weiss herself was quite sure that her intelligence and comprehension was better than most people.
She was not conceited enough to believe that she was the most intelligent person in the whole world. But Weiss was also not naive and stupid enough to believe that her photographic memory was a normal thing.
So she was very sure that if she was confident in any talent related field of the magus path, this would be it. Creating spells and such also sounded extremely desirable to Weiss too.
Karina was not aware of how absolutely broken Weiss's intelligence was. So she was a little bit curious about what the ladies were thinking. But she did not pay too much attention to it and continued talking.
Actually there were not much for her to say about intelligence or comprehension. It was quite straight forward and very easy to understand.
So next, she started to tell the ladies about another thing that would not be measured in the second test but would be calculated after they had joined an organisation.
This matter was mana purification ability. There were two main things that a mage needed to do daily. One was to study spells, runes and such. And the second task was to manifest, purify and increase the mana in their body.
But different people had different mana purification abilities. It was not only about speed but also about how much one could purify.
Karina was stuck at 55 percent purity and she could not go any higher no matter how hard she tried. This made her just slightly above average in the field of mana purification.
Someone with a purification rare between 1 to 20 were considered inferior and they were as rare as a talented genius.
A purification rate between 20 and 50 was considered normal and average. Almost 60 perfect of the magi were in this range.
Anything above 50 percent was considered to be good. But nothing too special. The truly special ones were the people whose purification rate was above 80 percent.
80 percent or more pure mana was not called mana anymore. Instead it was called Aether. And this aether was extremely useful for a magus in various ways.
After telling this much, Karina once more got her pussy penetrated. Then while shaking hips rapidly, she started to explain the wonders of the Aether to the ladies.
