Chapter 340 - 340: Ch 340: Heartbreak

As that happened, Elise felt as if the world had went blank. All sounds disappeared from around her and her heart almost jumped out of the chest.

Somewhere in her heart, Elise had believed that her being with her dear mistress forever was fate. There was no way this was not going to happen.

Even though she was a powerful grand knight with perfect control over all the muscles of her body, she felt week in her knees and almost fell down on the ground. But at the very last moment, she managed to control herself again.

No matter what, she could not allow herself to act in a disgraceful way and bring shame to her mistress. That was why, she managed to stay on her feet and walked out of the room.

While she was stepping out of the gate, her face was looking terrible and she was about to cry. But then, as soon as she stepped out and sunlight hit her, a smile appear instead of her previous expression.

To the eyes of a casual viewer, this smile looked completely normal and natural. But to anyone who had known Elise for a decent period to time, this smile was ugly and depressing.

Just looking at her was making Sakura to cry. And even someone as inexpressive as Weiss felt a pain in her chest.

With this, Weiss was unable to hold herself back. There was no need to hold herself back. So she went to Elise and hugged her.

Feeling the warm, gentle and kind touch of her mistress, Elise's rock solid defense almost break and her eyes became siightly moist. But still, mastering all her willpower, she managed to hold on and did not shed even a single drop of tear.

Hearing this, Elise was really having a hard time holding back her tears. So she buried her head in Weiss's bountiful chest as she did not want anyone to see her ugly crying face. Then she started to silently sob while Weiss continued to hug her and pat her back gently.

After some time had passed, Elise managed to calm down. She did not say anything and just bowed her head to Weiss. She knew that her mistress was not joking or giving her false hope when she was making her declaration.

So Elise was just going to trust her. As her most loyal subordinate, this is the only thing that she should do. As she was unable to accomodate this dream of hers alone, she would not mind taking the help of her almighty mistress.

So Elise finally went back to the group and Sakura immediately hugged her and buried her head in Elise's large chest. Previously Weiss had comforted Elise and now it was her time to do the comforting. So just like her mistress, Elise also started to gently pat Sakura's back.

As this was happening, Weiss started to walk toward the test room. It was her time to take the first test.

While Weiss and Elise were having a moment, no one had entered this room. That was because this particular room was made exclusive for Weiss and her group's use by the city lord. And that was the reason why everyone was able to take their sweet time.

While walking toward the room, Weiss realised that all the tension that she was feeling, there was nothing like it anymore. At the current moment, she was not tensed at all.

And the reason for this was very simple. After making her confident and determination filled declaration, there was no way she could feel any tension. She had much bigger things to do in the future so this simple test was nothing. Even if she also failed this, she would not mind it anymore at all.

Instead she would try to make plans and do experiments to find a way to invent the perfect method to gain magical talent. Now that giving up was not an option anymore, there was nothing for Weiss to fear or be worried about.

With this kind of mindset, she went inside the room with steady footsteps and put her hands on the crystal ball without any hesitation.

This was the time to known the truth and no matter what the result was going to be, Weiss would accept it with all her heart and would immediately start to make her future plans based on that.
